Direct download file corrupted? :o

Everything but the AutoRun.inf is corrupted. I don't think it's a problem on my end but I will download it one more time and see. It's gonna be about an hour and a half before I can test it again but I'm pretty sure the file itself is corrupted :(
Also I can't torrent it because apparently it wants to torrent at 17 kb/s as compared to 2 mb/s a second for direct download :c

    Well anyway the direct download is definitely broken, someone should fix that :o

    I managed to torrent it overnight so it's all good but for people who don't use uTorrent, it's not good :X

    Direct download worked fine for me. If you don't disable your security software properly though, it will corrupt your download. Personally the Torrent method is still better because then at least you get an MD5 checksum on the integrity of the file to ensure that you don't get any corrupted data during the transfer. It is a pretty large file. (That and the torrent is no longer a compressed .rar file. It's the already extracted installer.)

    Turned off my anti-virus (Microsoft Security Essentials) to re-download the direct download for the third time. Still corrupted. Gonna go with it not being on my end, and try the torrent.

    Yeah I tried my anti virus turned off for the second time (did NOT want to turn it off) and its still corrupted. I hope to renting works for you like it did for me. But as it stands, direct download is broken

    I just, once again, downloaded AND installed AND updated AND ran the client from the Direct Download .zip file.

    I even recorded the the whole process bit it's going to take several hours for the 4GB video to convert and then upload

    AND I have one of the most secure antivirus software you can purchase and IT IS GUARANTEED to eat my client files if I don't take the proper precautions. (But I did take the proper precautions and it worked just fine.)

    There is nothing at all wrong with the file. The issue is entirely on your end, and you need to figure out what it is. I'm happy to help, assuming you provide the data I ask for. There are many reasons why your files could have gotten corrupted. I could list them all, but I'd rather spend the next half hour playing instead of typing all of the possibilities.

    Again I will state....
    THE DOWNLOAD IS NOT CORRUPT.....
    AT LEAST, IT WASN'T BEFORE IT REACHED YOUR COMPUTER.

    This is downloading a file. It is not a particularly difficult task. Indeed, no other large file I have downloaded in the entire 1.5 year life of this machine has ever been corrupted even once (and that is not hyperbole); certainly no such file has ever been corrupted multiple times in a row.

    So, one of two things is true here. Either me and the other guy both somehow managed to **** up an incredibly simple task that we have done many times before without issue, the same way each time, multiple times in a row... or there is a problem on the server's end. Now, the problem on the server's end might be that it fails to provide a working file to certain clients under specific circumstances, but that does not change that fact that, if this is the case, it is a server-side issue.

    The fact that you do not happen to be having a problem does not indicate that the problem must be on the client-side. It is entirely possible for a program to break for some users due to program error, while continuing to work fine for others; such issues certainly cannot be construed to be client-side. I do not know that this is the case here; I am simply making the point that your assumption that it MUST be error on our part is not accurate. So please do not assume that simply because it works for you, we must have screwed something up.

    That being said, I downloaded it via torrent, and it worked fine.

    (Post-script: If I come across slightly hostile, it is because I do not appreciate being talked down to, especially on the basis of assumptions whose accuracy is questionable. I do appreciate the offer for help, in spite of your tone, but I am happy to say I do not need it.)

    Same here...the updater was working fine then last night we had maint and now it wont update for me either. I tried the manual update patches but still the same. It keeps failing and doing the auto retry then failing again. Please let me know if there's a way to fix it so i can play <3
