I've come to realize that the achievement system is broken, as I have 30 attendance sheets in my bank, but no points or achievement for it. I know of a couples others I am missing as well, so thought I would put this here.

I've slowly lost them as time passed without ever spending any. I just figured it was a Core glitch.

Yeah, it is either Core or PWI... not sure which. Is Core run by PWI itself? I know you can't really get anything useful with the points, but it is nice to see those "medals" racking up. b:laugh

Achievement points are lame anyway. These days it's all about SweetieBot points. Those are much cooler.

Sweetiebot give Crixxix 6 points so he knows how great they are.

Thanks, Crix. I'll have someone take a look at it.
My gut instinct says that this is probably due to the switch-over from Core to Arc. If you're not aware of it, Core was always a beta-product used to test the final implementation of PWE's platform. That platform was recently named Arc and was released a few days ago: http://www.perfectworld.com/arc

Okay, got an answer for you. It looks like my guess was correct. The team is looking into a permanent change for this feature, which means the points won't get fixed immediately. Sorry to be cryptic (no pun intended), but all I can say is keep a lookout for more news about a similar feature in Arc.

Thanks Geno. I was aware of Arc, but wasn't aware of Core being a beta-test. Does this mean that Core will be removed? If Arc is taking over, then it would be a good chance to update the item rewards.

Perhaps introducing chips and MoG's would be a good idea, but at a ridiculously high point price. I think adding new achievements would be a good idea as well, as the game has changed a lot since Core was around.

Sounds like a fun idea. I'll poke at my manager about it. Alas, I'm not on the team that deals in such things so I can't help much there.

From what I've seen, running Core now just gives you a thank-you message and tells you to go use Arc instead.

    Hey Geno,

My biggest complaint with the dragon quest point and achievement point system is that most of the items are pretty useless for higher level people. The demon/sage event cards from DQ points are nice, and come at a cost of 50k points. Other than that, most items from both systems are kind of... outdated.

I think offering both high level and low level items is key, and I am aware that R9 is meant to help PWI get funds. However, some people refuse to pay, and those people will just grind and do events, such as NW for coin to buy the gold. I think adding MoGs and GSTs would be appropriate, so long as they are offered at a high point value, and in single units. 1 GST could be like 25k DQ points, and 1 MoG something like 100k. This still makes it difficult for people to get them, but also keeps the "Free to Play" attitude.

Yeah and the dutiful giant big slap in the face is making somethings like Matchless Wings. and the Diamond of Dragon
these come out of packs and it isn't a time commodity that is just a cash commodity. You have to make it (or speak to PWCN) about making it a time commodity.

Now its China's job to work out how much time it would take versus cost. Its common knowledge and an open secret that MMOGs cost 100 million to make but to maintain is a different story. How much retro cost affective and effective it is, is why they have people in economy in companies. People still need charms to do dungeons and that is a given. There is your cost for ongoing.

As for Core Connect what is wrong with the Launcher unless you're going to integrate VoIP and did your company put Core Connnect [Beta] label on the product? Development mystery continues. Why not just use Steam considering you already have Blacklight Retribution, Rusty Hearts, Torchlight 2 and Forsaken World already in the back catalog on Steam pack it with your own launcher in the Steam thing.
Time won't wake/make you wiser, but it will definitely wound you.

This is true. I do however, believe MoG's to be a time commodity if you don't cash shop, and instead choose to make coin in game for them. I do agree some other high lvl items should be introduced, GST's and MoG's were simply an example.

I think your analyses of the "time versus cost" issue is pretty accurate, and would love to see where this thread will eventually lead.

Is it possible to have a little pop up come up when we achieve these feats and possibly more of them?

Updated rewards would be great too...

I doubt it, as Core and the achievements are PWE only, and there's little incentive for China to code in popups for stuff they don't use.
