It's very possible to get a channeling build with the r9r3 set. The weapon can easily have 11-13% on it, plus 2 savants, you get 6% more from the set, add in necklace, rings, hat, cape, you can get a lot (plus demon wellspring)

It's scary how fast he drops people.

Not really sure what's going on with the 15% on the weapon, but even if that was 9 and 3 instead, that's still 61% channeling before demon wellspring, and you can have a backup necklace and ring for if you run up against someone who is more of a threat.

However, that's obviously a very expensive option.

well my build is very close to instachannelling and does not need neck and ring that does not exist in my server

tho is squishy as **** i dont think a 61% chan could be considered a magic dps build >_>

wep is -10 -3 -6(savants) -3(rune) for -22 max (im 21 :<). i didn update build but have r999 ring +12 helps alot w/ pdef and dominance tome. will have 71% before well spring and full r999, hopefully 74% if i can get a -12 ring.

idk wat server you are on but there should be a few -9 necks/rings even on archosore.

to the original Q is it worth it? not for 'normal' play. chan build loses atk power, crit, hp, and defense your only gain is channeling speed which can be translated into combinations/lower chi need/higher chi gain.

lately i've been playing more DPS/tank style (pdef orns, actually using sutra lol). chan build is interesting and requires you to be on your toes but gives up so much vs 'normal' endgame play. the build does have a chance vs most end game r999 but not that good odds/you will probably just insta-die to endgame r999 sins.

also you cant get -6 on r8r bracers, -12 ohts or atleast -9s prob better too edit:oops you can x.x

You can get -6 on R8R bracers.

Chant Wiz are nice at lower lvls but end game its not the best way to go IMO.

I dunno, I think they can be very effective. The biggest problems with them imo is how much they cost and the survival they have to give up.. it is difficult to get a lot of channeling without sacrificing a lot of survival. I just made up a calc (actually just modified my calc, swapped neck + helm + 1 ring, filled in missing josd, changed shards in wep and changed culti).. and I think this would be very deadly in pvp.. especially if there was other gear to swap to. It'd be amazing to be able to cast that fast all the time, the only real test is if you could take a few hits from a sin or ea (which I think could be done.. especially if they only swapped to all channeling gear when they had buffs or something).

This is true that it would be deadly in pvp if you where to start the fight, but if its the other way around it isn't going to help much. Not real sure how it will work in mass PvP but would be interesting to see.

#1. Change your font, it is unnecessarily difficult to read. (tip: don't use a dark font on a dark background.. I'm going to kos u till u change this stupid font b:angry)
#2. You can run around in "normal" gear and then only swap to channel gear when you have full buffs or when you are reasonably confident there isn't a ton of physical damage coming your way (basically just means that you can take the benefits without any real downside). Go watch a few of FaceRolI's videos, a well played chan build can be very effective.

is how i use it now. 2 bars setup same way except 1 w/ sutra other w/ quaff pdef ring + neck on 1 chan orns others. inefficient in terms of buttons (and wiz really need all buttons availabe) but i like this way since I dont need to use mouse. ofc can just put orns on bar n clicky if you like that way.

well my wiz is on a EU server and yea we dont have such rings nor necks, none even bothers crafting them cept me and besides a triple endurance neck got nothing good in kind of 1k tries so far...
tho i ve been testing the chann build on a pserver and seemed not that bad, i think chann wizard with that swap ornaments thinghie can be pretty effective, but w\o the chance to have such ornaments what would you suggest?

can change around refines/socketing to what you can afford, want atleast 3 peices r999 for the 100 mag. chan build already loses like ~2.5k matk from icebournes over savants. ofc can swap around to tt99 bracers/-6 neck or w/e u want. crafting chan necks easier then rings btw. GL

Having fought beside FaceRoll back in Endeavour several times, I can say from experience channeling was very effective. In fairness this was back when R9 was as good as you could expect from the people we were fighting. In fairness he's also a better wizard than I am, but he dropped people a hell of a lot faster than I did.
