If you took every melee class and gave them the best gears which one would hit hardest? just curious

An aps assassin has the highest damage per second on average (over long periods of time).
A seeker has the highest damage per hit potential, both on magical and physical hits. (Gemini+Ion Spike) + Zerk Crit.
A BM has the highest damage per hit potential, including debuffs (because of ability to self HF). i.e, HF>GS>High DPH skills like Smack + Zerk Crit.Forever overlooked.

He means that by using only self debuffs and no apothecary or other outside factors Blademasters have the highest DPH potential due to being able to do a potential 8x damage in one hit (zerk+crit+Hf, 2x>4x>8x)
Seekers have the highest regular damage potential (and thus higher overall if factoring in outside aid such as genie/apo) while BMs have the highest using only skills available to the class.0 -

With some chi coming in from being attacked, the barb doesnt need any luck. Just reliable damage. Need to take 5 incomming attacks or a chi pot.Sparks are not very significant anyway so lets exclude those. (although it can very well be added when aoeing mob masses)
75k HP after ToP = 150k base armageddon
100% crit from demon sunder makes 300k
20% Extreme poison or mire makes 360k
25% from devour makes 450k
Attack levels i guess can get it to 1m.
Some day i will be that barb b:dirty
For now ill have to do with mini armageddons from mini HP with mini attack levels and no demon sunder yet0 -

It really does. OP should be more specific about whether or not there are limitations, and which are in place if there are. Also, if he means average damage over time with auto attack or skill spam, highest damage from one skill, or highest damage combo. Silly OP.0 -

To my knowledge, the hard hitting skills for seekers arent meelee, but ranged. Its a difference b:cute
Also Archers are range, not meelee.
I would also stick with BM, without help from other classes debuffs, this would be the hardest hitting class.0 -
If you allow any debuffs a wiz can do the most physical by far in PvE since the Soul Shatter seeker skill affects both the physical and fire damage components of Blade Tempest, plus they get the benefit of any other physical debuffs used (except Heart Shatter). If you take Adroit's 7.1m hit as an example half of that damage is physical (before the boss' damage reduction).

Aren't the only mele dd's sins, bms, barbs and seekers when they are auto attacking? Why r people talking about archers ranging and seeker phys/METAL casting moves?0

I'd say they are about the same, mostly depends on stat point build and gear. If you are trying to pick a class to play better look at other factors.
Play sin to kill well, and be a lock down master
Play BM to be more supporty, nice tank and good dmg
Play seeker for highest kill potential
Play barbs for the love of the game
Assasins will do the most damage PvE
Barbs do have the highest spike dmg
Edit: yeah idk about seekers but Armageddon and Blade tempest are 2 of the hardest hitting skils in the game. Blade tempest because it deals 2x base damage, and armageddon scales off of hp. I am reasonably confident max armageddon dmg >> max blade tempest dmg.
But max dmg is only 1/5 chance to crit, 1/5 chance to zerk so it is very inconsistent, and harder to land than blade tempest but it looks good on paper.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]0 -

I would call every skill meelee, which is casted in a 4.5 Meter range. Its not really ranged, but you can call it ranged, because skills who are meelee, are telling you, that they are meelee, because the range is meelee.
But Meelee would be the range of every weapon to 4~ 4.5meter i would say. not 30 like the seeker skills, they arent meelee b:laugh0 -
We have 4 skills that are over or at 28 meters and only 1 over 30.. Two of which isn't damage skill.. The longest skill is 38 meters, which is actually a renamed skill borrowed from assassins.
Otherwise, the rest of the skills are 20 meters.0 -

My comment about blade tempest was with regard to PvE only. A zerk crit arma from a vit build barb with maxxed gear and tree of protection will definitely outhit blade tempest (which is more comparable to a strength build barb arma without using ToP).
The difference in PvE is the seeker's soul shatter debuff (PvE only). Sage soul shatter is a 2.5x amp that affects BT because of its fire component but does not affect purely physical skills like arma.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]0 -
The hardest hit by melees I've received have been dealt by sage bms, and sage sins. Just my experience.0

Honestly, despite my love for my bm in pve, I still wouldnt suggest playing it to anyone who wishes to pvp, I'll even do my best to explain why. (which I am sure a few people will disagree)
I can take the exact same gear I have on my bm, and put it on my barb or seeker, and survive 10x longer in mass pvp. (nw to be slightly more specific) Seekers have their ranged attacks, as well as their def levels, which both work really well in mass pvp, barbs have their badass shields to protect themselves from a mass amount of attacks, and as for sins, they at least have their stealth, focused mind, haxed dexterity which makes many melee attacks miss, they even have their deaden nerves. Blademasters do indeed have their marrows, but they are a complete and utter joke for mass pvp, why? You may ask. Simple with the facts I listed above along with the arguably nasty side effects of marrows, bm's are in for a world of pain from all three attacks of the weapon triangle. (Ranged, Melee, and Mage) Sad thing is that mages are still hitting ridicolously hard, while the melee people get their damaged increased thanks to the bms desicion to try to protect itself from the much more powerful attacks of a mage. What other class HAS to deal, with both melee attack and mage attcks pretty much no MATTER how they play, a bm's ranged attacks are a joke, as is stunlocking people these days, so MANY ways to avoid a stunlock. (EASILY)
Granted that is all earlyish end game, it is still extremely insanly frustrating feeling like I have to go to insanely astronomical extraordinary lengths to prepare my bm to survive in nw... whereas it really doesn't seem to be the case for my barb, seeker, or even my assassin.

Bm rant aside... I think ultimately a seeker has the highest damage per hit (whether it be a 'ranged/mage attack or a melee attack) the seeker and barb definitely have the most likeability in nw early end game. (at least imo they though.)Ah, Mistakes are so easily made. ~ laura resnick

Indeed. I do not enjoy metal zerk crits. Physical zerk crits on long range attacks are already bad enough. I wonder how my thread on this subject is doing, I haven't checked that in a while.0
