Problems with VirtualBox

The installer installs perfectly. The launcher launches perfectly. The patcher patches perfectly. But the client doesn't client at all (lol)

I've tried changing permissions, running as admin, updated DirectX twice... almost everything in these forums and nothing worked. When I click the big, round button on the patcher, the one saying Start y'know, I get a small wheel beside my pointer, and then elementclient doesn't start up. Curiously enough, when I re-run patcher, it tells me the client is running and I'm unable to patch.

Any insights on this?

Running Windows 7 on a virtual machine.

    You will need the latest version of Flash installed, and the latest version on Internet Explorer 8, 9, or 10+

    You can try adding the game folder/files to your exceptions list in your antivirus and firewall software. Please see the help menu or support website for the software that you use if you aren't sure how to do it.

    At your own risk, you may have to disable your antivirus, firewall, and other security software temporarily while you download, install, update, login to, and play the game. Sometimes the security software will block it no matter what you try or even if you try to add exceptions for the game files in your security software.

    You may also have to disable, shut down, uninstall, or disable any: torrent, keyboard/mouse, web browser toolbars, video/screen capture, gamepad/input device, multimedia, Instant Messaging, voice over IP, web browser games, other games software applications before downloading, installing, updating, logging into, and playing the game. Basically shut down all non-essential programs.

    If all fails Submit a Ticket or post your issue in TechSupport Forum. Good Luck ^_^

    Wich folder you installed it to ?
    What happen if you start elementclient.exe directly ?
    Any chance to try VMware ?

    How did you configure the network ?

    Did you install the guest additions and enable 3D acceleration in the VM settings under "Display" tab? Also make sure you gave enough video memory there.

    Could you also check the guest OS dxdiag and see if it says that DirectDraw and Direct3D acceleration are enabled? Your problem might be related to the still somewhat experimental 3D acceleration support.
