ok im not sure which class to be between blademaster and barbarian i know i have level 61 seeker but im bored of it and i heard alot of rumors seekers suck so i want to know which class suits me best cuz i die too easily when fighting too many monsters. should i be blademaster or barbarian. blademaster have all sorts of weapons like axe hamemrs swords and fist which is both good for fighting monsters and pvp because they can switch there weapon to fist and use fist skill in pvp just like assassins and ax hamemr skill when fighting monsters but the problem is it kidna has low hp and they kinda die easily and barbarian have really high hp but very low dexerity which means they will miss alot of hits take more daamage and do much lwoer damage than blademaster and i like tanking and odign damage and pvp at the same time but cant choose someoen help me with which class i should play

First of all, the oportunities both have depend on your budget. You talk about you lvl 61 seeker and that is what your avatar shows. So i assume this is your main and highest level character. This indicates that you probably have no wealth in the near futuyre unless you want to cashshop heavily.
Both characters are actually similar in many ways. Both use HA. Both use axes and both have the opportunity to use APS gear with firsts. Barb gets 17Hp per vit, BM 15.
This causes their basic survivability to be pretty comparable. Now of course the barb has tiger form which makes him a bunch tougher and they have invoke which makes them nigh immortal for 20 seconds.
Now if you are not a heavy cash shopper and thus poor, that rules out APS for both the barb and the BM. For the BM this imo is a bigger loss since it indeed is quite a part of being BM while it is something many people consider not even intended to be used by barbs as they have absolutely no skills that can be used in APS mode.
Another assumption i make based on your lvl 61 seeker is that you think mostly about leveling and doing quests in PvE. Here it is important if you prefer to solo as much as possible or if you like questing. The barb is a real team player. In fact, he is by nature usually the squad leader. He controls the pace of battle, he must asure the safety of the squad together with the cleric. This is what i loved the barb for most of all.
PvP is not that much of a consideration i think until you are very rich. This level can be obtained by at least 2 gaming of playing or using your credid card for a few 1000$. Since you have a lvl 61 character, i assume you are not the credid card type of player though
If PvP is your main interest, and you dont want a significant portion of the players to simply kill you in 1 shot for the first years to come, you might have come to the wrong game.
For the long term, as i say, both the barb and BM have similar oportunities. Both can be solo APS farmers after you got to level 100 and played some months to obtain the needed wealth for that. In fact, they do it with pretty much exactly the same equipment and stats. Just the skills are different. The BM is probably slightly better at it, but its a small margin. The biggest difference really is the amount of haters that you will see in the replies to my post that are gonna say barbs shouldnt be APS, but you can simply ignore those
I would advise you to make both and have them all on the same account with your seeker. Someday you will buy an account stash and you can swap al the HA gears between these 3 characters.
Finally i would like to get into your comment about seekers sucking. I would like to compare them with barbs and BMs for you at different levels of gear and what goal:
While leveling up to 75, the seeker may be slightly fragile, but it isnt that bad really. Yes the barb takes a lot more hits, but he also is so much slower at killing. The BM is in between i guess. Its a tradeoff really.
After you reach level 75, the seeker gets a skill (Vortex) that is grossly overpowered for this level range. Its damage is mostly set by the skill and only for a small part depends on the weapon. This means that for a poor guy, it is doing huge damage. It does heavy damage, continuous and AOE. Its just amazing.... Edit: you get the skill earlier actually, but you dont yet have the mana means to keep it up, so thats why i consider it level 75 where you really get the skill
That is until you are rich and your gears improve. When you get to the more expensive equipment, that is beyond level 100 and after getting at least some degree of wealthyness, both the barbs and BMs aoe skills are increasing in effectiveness. A lot.... And then the seekers vortex doesnt seem so impressive anymore since the barb and BM can in 5 seconds deal the damage your seekers vortex does in a full minute.
While however the lvl 75-90 seeker is mostly revered for his vortex skills, when we get to end game he also has different skills to use that do scale with his equipment. And when you reach ultimate end game, the seeker is considered by many to be one of the best if not the best characters for PvP.
I guess the boringness of the seeker may also have something to do with what stage of life you are. I also found the pre 75 seeker rather boring. Just using a debuf or 2, then some skills. Repeat. And vs bosses you can use skills but actually do more damage by auto attacking. Then you get vortex and are probably lured by its awesome powers and you may find yourself nothing but vortex for the nest 20 levels. Utter boredom indeed. But when you get to the this stage where you outgrow the vortex, it might become more interesting. But i have never been there, my seeker exists only for vortexing and will never get beyond lvl 770 -
so does that mean i should play as a barbarian instead of blademasters and also who the **** is even willing to pay a thousand pounds over a stupid game thats outrageous and also im not spending any real money because im nowhere near the age over 18 to spend real life money i just play this game because this is the only game i can run on my laptop to pass my time.b:laugh0

If you're not quite sure I'd tell you to play both.. If you dislike one more than the other, or like one more than the other than delete the other one. Another thing is to say that BMs are very experimental with all their builds, so you can always change builds if it doesn't suit you.
PvP wise - Barbs are very good at Nations Wars, but if you're anticipating to TW (Territory Wars) non-catapult pulling barbs aren't as fun as BMs. So.. Your choice![SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]

What HrunsPanda said is right.
Seeker are OP as hell on PvP, and aps barb is good to farm, since they have huge amount of HP with BP from a sin and aps gear they can farm easily.
I know a barb with aps gear that can solo TT3-3 and that's a good money.
BM is not very good on PvP, they're like umm hard to kill for physical DD like sin, but they're very vulnerable to magic classes. While barb's huge amount of HP make up for lack of mdef, they can survive better on both PK and PvE
But the better u survive the less damage u can deal, a BM outdamage barb with higher critical rate(From Dex) and Seeker outdamage BM since their main rule is Damage Dealer, and BM is mob control, while barb is tank.
The best thing about Seeker/BM annd Barb is, they can have Blodpaint buff, where magic users can't have. BP is essential for farming, because u wouldnt want to waste charm and potions to farm right?
Barb also have a skill that can one shot everyone in PvP, but it needs huge amount of HP to deal nuke damage, and the other skill, u need to tank huge amount of damage to deal nuke damage.
BM have 6 stun locks, Heaven Flame whick will multiply damage taken for ur enemies, I think this is one of the best aoe skill, while it doesn't do much damage but it will amplify ur other damages.
And lastly seeker, they have high physical defense like Barb and BM do, but what's more, they have def lvl/att lvl control. And they have a skill I forgot what's the name of that skill, Gemini Slash I think, which deal crazy damage that can one shot almost everything.
I seen one rank 9 3rd cast seeker one shots rank 9 3rd cast barbarian with full +12 armor.
For PK, barb is like invicible, they can't kill as easily as seeker does, but they're virtually unkillable.
BM have good stun locks, and HF to support ur team on PvP, and they're also hard to kill.
Seeker have good physical def(hard to kill for physical damage dealer) and they deal crazy damage that can even one shot a barb.
But if u can afford rank 9 gear, seeker might be the best choice for you, cause with rank 9 armor and weapon u can deal crazy damage plus u can tank like everything.
Oh and if u think spending $1000 is crazy, there are someone that even sold off his car and spend it in this game :P
Game is a hobby, and well, what's the different between paying for a game and fishing? or ski-ing?
Both are hobbies and as long as u can have fun with it, why not?
But well, most people won't agree to this lol. I don't CS much but I admit I do, I'm a nabb tho :P0 -
Seekers are weak? I almost never died leveling up my seeker. If you think seekers are weak try leveling up an archer.
Keep Adrenal Numbness maxed, wear magic defense robe, belt and necklace and have 50-70 vit by level 60. If you can't stay alive doing this you need to improve your gameplay not change classes.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]0 -
the difference with other hobbies is that in most hobbies you spend money to buy stuff that is essentially needed. You simply need paint and brushes if you want to paint. You need an instrument if you want to make music. You need a bike if you want to go downhilling and you cant go skiing without skies.
In that aspect, the need for a PC and possibly to buy games is similar. However when you spend money on ingame items to be more powerfull than players who spend less, you are getting into something entirely different. If you then look more closely at the motivation to do this, it might actually get really ugly .....
And i know very well because i have been there, i have done the same thing when i played magic the gathering. I beat the **** out of everyone who dared to play type1 against me only because i spend the ****load of money to buy power9, lib of alexandria, 4 of every dual land and some other less significant ****. To reduce the chance factor of the opening hand i prefered to play 2vs2 teaming with another idiot friend of mine who had the same ego problems and thus overpriced cards. I dont think we ever lost a game when playing together. What proud we were. What idiots we were..... The good thing though, at least you can sell those cards once you come to your senses.
But oh well, this is OT and i shouldnt be saying this anyway. Dont disturb the fish is what we say in poker. And yes, someone has to pay for my game. Just sometimes i cant stop myself from speaking my mind... Sorry.0 -
i maded a barbarian im gonna see how well this barbarian goesb:laugh0

3 minutes is much too short a time to bump a forum post.
As for what's the best tank, early game through midgame it's a Barbarian. Endgame, Barbarians have a harder and harder time holding aggro against the strongest DD class, in particular high APS (attack per second) Blademasters and Assassins. A top geared Assassin will be able to tank or even solo almost anything in the game thanks to their extremely high DPS (Damage Per Second) combining with their Bloodpaint skill that returns a portion of melee damage dealt by them to them, but until they have very good gear they're on the squishy side.
Alternative partners to a cleric would include Blademasters and Seekers, both of which are heavy armor classes able to tank instances, lacking the aggro attracting and survival skills of a Barbarian they are able to kill faster due to dealing greater damage.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]

I'm sorry lol the bump was for the post not because i didn't get a response. So overall you would suggest a Blademaster for their tanky ability and their dps? How long could one go with just a cleric in party?0 -
The barb is the tank. It has the agro skills, and end game it can go APS as well if it wants to hold agro. However, there it doesnt need to hold agro.
The BM does not keep agro in early game, and in late game he keeps it no better than a barb. (he does fractionally more damage than an equally geared barb, but the barb can swich to axes and use his agro skills at times when needed and, i have yet to build my aps barb and get my stomp of the king and demon sunder, but i suspect that if i combine these properly, it should allow me to hold agro from equally geared sins actually. Not yet sure though.
However, all that end game talk is far away for you probably and its about different things.
It depends on if you want to play mostly just the 2 of you, or also invite others to your squad often. Note that with cleric and either barb or BM, you can dual pretty much the whole game up to lvl 80 without any other help. However, it is gonna take hours to do your instances (BHs) without DDs. I feel sure you are gonna get tired of the slow going in instances pretty soon. End game there are instances where you simply must have a squad (warsong) or where you can only do it with the 2 of you if at least the barb/bm has end game gear. You wont have this gear unless you cash shop heavily. So in all practicallity, you will need to play with squads in late game anyway.
If you do want to invite others to your squad, then barb+cleric is the golden duo. Squads are often waiting to try and find either one of these. If you have this duo, you dont have to care whom joins your squad because you have the necessary ones, the rest just needs to deal damage to make it more speedy. If you and your GF are a good and skilled team together, this will also help you to do TT runs much higher then what your equipment level would normally warrant. (normally, the better equiped characters wouldnt accept you in their squads) Just because you can take the initiative to make the squad and you only needs a sin or 2 to join you. This is what i did a lot with my cleric friend. We did TT3-3 in TT90 gears.
If you want to keep it to just the 2 of you as much as possible, then the BM might be a better choise since he kills faster and is still strong enough to take the damage. The disadvatage is the lack of agro skills. When you are with 2, that doesnt matter since there are no DDs to steal agro from you. If you are gonna be in a squad with stronger DDs (sins, psys, wizzards) you will need to find a barb for the tanking job since your BM cannot always stop the mobs from attacking the other DDs.0 -
OK! Thanks that helped alot, I'm not new to MMO's and niether is my gf so i belive barb will be the best. I normally dont play Tank but I'm going to because she wants a cleric. It doesnt matter how long it takes and we will party with others but if i go barb me and her, like you said, basically start the party ^.^ Again thanks for everyones help, look forward to maybe seeing you in game.0

Hey, not new to MMOs, but I haven't played PWI in a while, and figured I'd give it a shot. Since I can't create a new thread(Apparently my several year-old account is new), I decided to post here. I'm looking for a good PVE character, since I'm not all that into PVP.
No real preference, and have tried all of the classes at least once, but not enough to really get into them. I want to try and stick to a character for a while this time.
Mainly looking for a support/group-friendly character. Any suggestions?
Also, best server to play on?0 -
Cleric's main job is support, and wanted in nearly every squad.
"Best server" is highly subjective, choose one that matches your timezone and taste best, currently there are servers in 3 time zones (Pacific, Eastern and Central European) in two flavors (PVE and PVP, PVP servers only in Pacific and Eastern timezones.)[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]

I want to know what is more cheap to achieve : a strong BM 5.0 or a strong SIN 5.0 ?0
-
Both are rather expensive, and similar combinations of gear sets are needed for both. I don't remember figures, but while an assassin can achieve 5.0 easier than a BM by using fists, to achieve a 5.0 dagger build I think the assassin is more expensive than a 5.0 fist BM build. If you search the forum well enough you may find people giving actual relative prices.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]
