Pdef or Mdef

this question has been asked many times before but I would like just ONE answer would you rather pdef belt/necklace or mdef belt/necklace?

    Get both? The answers you'll get now will be identical to the previous threads. Why did you feel the need to make a new thread while admitting there were others?

    Deal with it. You don't want to search and just ask for more responses. You've not provided ANY insight into the opponents you face and what you do in game. How is just any random answer useful?

    I get killed by mostly psy's, sins, archers(r9+) and sometimes very well geared veno's. there is your "insight".

    mdef neck with high refined phys rings

    otherwise pdef neck if you don't have something like +10 sky covers

    The stats on pdef ornies help archers more than the stats on mdef ornies.

    Defense charms only stop one attack each. So against a 5aps opponent you would need to use 5 charms a second. There are no 5aps wizards. Casters have slow but powerful attacks so mag def charms work better than pdef charms because of that.

    Put those two things together and pdef ornies are usually better for archers. But the best thing is to have both in your inventory and on hot keys to switch back and forth. I have found no method better than switching based on your last death. Seems simplistic but works better than trying to predict who will kill you next.

    Archers are weak against both.

    At end game (I'm talking about R9R2 or T3) assuming that your rings are physical (or R9) your pdef will be higher fully buffed with a phys neck. With an Mdef neck your mag res will be about the same as your pdef.

    Do you want to go for average defense or stack your defenses?

    I personally went for the Physical necklace (im full R9R2 so i dont have to worry about the belt)
    In terms of end game refines (+10 or higher) the physical route works out better for overall survivability index.

    The problem with archers is we're so nerfed compared to every other class we're going to have a problem with the damage we take from everyone.

    The reasons I went for physical:

    1) If a magic class crits on me especially wizards, it really doesnt matter how much Mdef you have. Your Mdef will never be high enough for you to not get 1 shot by wizards and superpsy's
    2) Physical classes have higher dps
    3) This is probably the most important reason..
    I don't let high refined OP casters near me much. I know our range is pretty negligent over casters but still, the only thing that should ever really be able to catch me is another archer.


    aka- i chose my build on how I thought i should based on what kills me the most.
    If you're saying you're getting killed by everything then i guess it really doesnt matter which one you pick.

    Sometimes I do wish I had a magic defence one. Perhaps when I'm +12 I can focus on getting one of them.
    The biggest problem i have at the moment is that now i find i die to casters a lot more because of how OP they are, you just cant hold them still so they hit me more than they did.. If i switch to a magic neck will I find that i die to a lot more archers and other phys classes than magic?
    So yeah ... to be honest - everyone is jumping on Decus's post saying how useless it is... to be honest he's probably the most "right" in his answer. Get both. Pick one for now, but when you can get both and decide for yourself.

    if can affrod both but if dont get pshy def neacklea it still add 200 magic def if we talking about cube neck b:cute

    Get R9 +12 all over, and all the NW forge gear, then it doesn't matter anymore.
