Play it and figure it out for yourself. Each person has their own opinions on these things. It's much better to figure out what your own opinion is than to have someone else tell you what your opinion is.

It's not like this hasn't been asked and answered many times in the forums, and it's not like there's a massive wealth of information in the sub-forums for you to explore and generate your own opinion on.

It's also super easy to quickly play and level several characters in a short period of time and learn enough about each class to determine what you like best.

That's largely subjective, what one person finds fun/interesting is boring for another. Personally I prefer venomancer.

Choose the class that reflects on your playstyle. If you want to tank use barb, seeker, or bm. If you want to nuke use wizard or psy. If you want mobility use veno or archer. If you want be the support class use mystic or cleric. If you want everything except supporter use sin.

Everyone's just going to tell you the classes that they play. No one can give you a real answer unless we know exactly how you like to play.

"Fun and interesting" is not a criteria in class choice, as they all have the potential to be fun and interesting. The problem is, we don't know your definition of "fun and interesting," so we can't give you any advice unless you tell us. :P

Yeah. I played all classes, and I like seeker above all. Don't even touch my alts anymore.

To the OP that may what you need to do too. Just try them all til one of them feels "like you".

In that case, i retract my vote for barb. End game barbs can do marvelous amounts of damage both to single bosses (with APS) or to masses with their very hard hitting AOE skills.
In early game however, barbs are a bit of an anoyance to level because they hit like pussies.

So you may prefer a BM or Seeker if you want to be tanky (which i interpret as you want to be melee) and do some damage. The BM seems like a lot more fun to me personally than the seeker. But thats the personaly thing....

Oh yes, you can solo a lot of things. The "problem" is that you can go make yourself a sandwich while youre doing it. It just all takes so long. I have leveled a wizzard, a seeker and a barb. When each gets a quest that asks me to kill 50 mobs, it be like this

wizzard: cast, cast, next mob. cast cast, next mob. cast cast "holy **** its got double HP, run for dear life". Then come back and continue.

Seeker: cast, cast, cast, next mob. cast cast cast, next mob. cast cast cast cast cast, next mobe "heh did that last one have double HPs ? oh well...."

Barb: Hit, hit, hit, hit, hit, hit, hit, hit, hit, hit, hit, hit, hit, hit, hit, hit. Next mob Hit, hit, hit, hit, hit, hit, hit, hit, hit, hit, hit, hit, hit, hit, hit, hit "uch its only half dead yet, damn double HP, gonna take me another minute more.."

I might make it look slightly worse than it is, but really it was darn slow.

Mystic pet is support, not tank. and at that level the pet doesn't really count for much at all.

Barb, Seeker and BM are all excellent tank/melee classes.

Barb has the most HP, fast movement speed, but low damage (unless you follow Hrun's post which seems to be referring to aps usage on barbs, which I wouldn't reccommend)
Seeker has good damage and reasonable HP but can be a little restrictive in their skills and weapon choice (limited to swords)
BM has good damage, plenty of AoEs, and the most weapon variety, but their builds are somewhat restrictive if you want them to use a full complement of level-appropriate weapons; this may leave them with lower HP than you'd like.

It all depends if you want a pure tank (barb), weapon/skill versatility (bm), or a good all-around class (seeker). Any of them will be fine at tanking if played well. :)

Well for new players there really isnt any reason not to get APS on their barb. They probably dont have this hatret againt APS that some old players do :)

And all this "barbs have low damage". In Aoe they are among the highest. That is after getting demon sunder and enough HPs for a good armageddon though. This topic is about lvl 1 - 50

Nah double hp is: cast cast wotp cast cast fow cast cast, "holy f***" comes at magic resistance

    Anyway, useful reply to topic:
Asking people for a "best" or "most fun class" will always be inherently flawed, some love melee, some (me) absolutely can't stand it (note title). Some hate cleric, some love it. Some absolutely love being able to be that support, or being able to have 10 people attacking them and survive even at the expense of not doing as much damage. There is no one class that will be the most fun for everyone, you can't expect a useful reply unless you plan to give us more information about what you enjoy doing.

I love my wiz but you might hate it.

    DrakeEmpress-101/102/103 Sage Cleric

pure tank barb won't tank anything but a pull or two, and of course cata-pulling

on a boss it will always be APS tank, unless it's, like, casters or damage immune AEU boss, and even then the tank is whomever holds aggro

    Seriously, though

    http://pwcalc.com/7864f696eedb3ea1

almost optimal build, minues r8r stats, gives you pretty much 30K+ HP standing up. Would you rather have that tanking the boss or the 8K sin?

As i explained in the post i linkied above, reason and effectivity has absolutely nothing to do with the APS aversion. Now i don't care, i myself got a sin aversion that is based on nothing but my experience with the average sin players, and probably many of us have some ways in which we led ourselfs be led by unreasonable emotions, but at least i realise the unreasonability of it and dont advise new players against making sins. It would be nice if the anti APS people could get to a similar realisation.

True, at which levels aps is not even a factor anyway.

What I'm saying is that we shouldn't be teaching newbies to adopt aps (at least not unless they're BMs or maybe sins, and even then, not to excess). Those reasons that classic style barbs resent/dismiss aps barbs are just as valid to newbies as they are to existing classic barbs. Encouraging aps on barbs would be tantamount to discouraging classic tank builds, which is the entire point of the class.
