one that has a clear descriptive name so that i know what it sells. If it sells mirages, pstones or tokens, one that lists the price in its name and has a good price. Of course if the real price is not exactly as in the name i dont buy there. (even if it is the cheapest, if you ask 11.999 for tokens and you list 11.9k in the name, ill buy at your neighbour who honestly sells for 12k)

I avoid the "best deal", "walmart", "look here", "buy me" etc shops no matter how cute a bunnies they may be.

Err. perhaps i phrased the question wrongly.
What i meant to say was something more along the lines of: If 2 cat shops have the same title both selling what you need - which one would you pick out of the options to visit first?

    the one that is closest.

Now if you ask what if they are at an equal distance, then the one closest to my mous pointer. Now if those are also equally close, i really don't know, probably depends if at that moment i feel like lighting a cigarete or eating a nice grilled bunny stake.

You didnt ask the question wrong in any way. We are just making clear that we really dont give a ***.

    This.
If Ive got free time I'll shop for something, and whether its a catshop or anything else, I'll sift through most/all of the shops in no particular order.

One thing I've noticed, is that having a bunny or cow shop helps sell better in some situations than having a lighter or regular. The lighter should be better to sell from, but the color is very dull and blens into normal/other lighter shops in a tight area. In that case, having a blue or red shop helps in that it is easier to see the title. And when there is little difference in price on a small time item, if the price is decent they won't care enough to shop around.

For when I shop, I agree about honesty in title. To me, misleading titles or "misplaced" 0s automatically mean I won't buy from that shop at all. Same with one where they are selling an item for max or insane prices, while having the same thing to buy at a third or fourth the cost. In those cases, it's just too blatant they are trying to rip people off for the best possible deal for themself. So all I have to do is wait a bit, and guaranteed to get a better price within a week tops.

I don't look at the type so much as the name of 1. the shop 2. the character(if they're regularily there I'll remember the char. name) but it's easiest to tell apart shops with the same/similar shop name (happened lots in cube) if they're different types.
Normally if it's a mob of same-item shops I'd just click them in an anti-clockwise manner through the shops and see which one sells the cheapest. Or buys for the most.
Probabily the only real commentary I could add relevant to shop types is: it seems half the time with bunny shops, the little wooden part that's upermost on the shop(whatever that was) covers part of the name and makes it irritating to see what it's titled.

I see that's not just me then. I'll also completely ignore shops that buy or sell multiple stacks of items and "accidentally" slip or add a 0 in their favour. Might be a mistake, but more often than not a scam and even if the shop has good prices, I avoid it from that point on.

Anyway, if I'm buying I usually go to cat's. Lighters and Cows and w/e tend to be more "hardcore" merchants. In other words they can afford to park their shop permanently and seem to jack up prices quite often, perhaps because they can wait forever for a sale. Some of the best deals I've found have been regular cat's.

If I'm selling however, I'll search every catshop regardless of what they are.

And i believe you get more characters to use in the name right ?

At least that was why i am considering buying one for my token shop, so i can put in more decimals, and a : between the B and the price and stuff like that :p
I hope people wont stop buying from me because that makes me look like a hardcore merchant. Honestly, i think the reality is the other way around. the not so hardcore merchants are often very attached to their items, think they have the best and ask rediculous prices. Or they dont understand that turnover is going to help them more than larger margins. Hardcore merchants take the micro margins but turn over milions per hour. These are the best for the customer.

You're also able to sell slightly more items as well.

And yeah, the merchants that aren't "hardcore" are more likely to **** you over and try to sell for as expensive as they can get away with than the ones who are since the latter recognize the bonus of a high turnover rate to constantly move large amounts of items at a steady pace instead of trying to wait for the one unlucky and desperate ****.

I will go to ANY catshop that is selling fash regardless wich of the shops it is.b:avoid
Actually i almost never look in shops but if/when i do i actually think i mainly choose to go shops that are cats first and the lighter shops last... Reason is that players wich "only" use the free catshops more often happen to be people that dont catshop on regular basis and will less likely be one of the overpriced merchant shops. The shops i almost never look in, or at least never look in randomly are the lighter shops. The lighters usually tend the be merchanters shops and the items in them tend to be way too overpriced. Here in HT there is actually a neat row of overpriced lighter shops thats been there for quiet some years now, and i never bother look in those.

Closest, with good description, fair price, selling what I need.

I also don't tend to buy from shops that have, say, 500+ of a bunch of the same mats/herbs, only because, in past experiences in PWI and other MMOs, a lot of players with gobs of things, run bot programs. Not all, but quite a few do. I would rather pay more for less, than less for more.

Only exception are tokens/crab meat, but those I get on my own.

Well, i dont shop based on looks, and i know u are likely doing this for giggles... but the shops that actually do stand out the most, and which i believe more people would choose is the cow shops specifically... their design, hands down, is a stand-out design above all other shops... i would know, i have an eye for such things, ive been an artist since before i could walk... literally... i personally went with the mermaid to buy as my own shop though... it gives me boobies b:chuckle

And by the way... this is the sort of thing a vote will not give accurate results on... you would literally need to have multiple eyes on multiple areas to survey who goes to what first... and also need to rule out "perma-shops" which are well known to carry specific items... generally speaking, nearly no one will vote in a text arena of this sort, in the same way they will behave in the environment which this question applies...

The only reason to get a special shop is to handle large amounts of coin, duh.

Anyway I've noticed the special shops are the ones most likely to be placed right in front of an NPC so you click on them by mistake. On principle I never buy from those.

This was just for a bit of fun :)

I tend to go for shops that have a clear shop title. I also look for players that I may know, to help them out. If I had to pick, I'd say I tend to shop more at the tiger shops. Most players don't get that timed tiger shop unless they worked hard to get it from tiger event. It's a rare item to obtain, and because of that I'm always under the assumption that most players who do that well in tiger event have a grasp on the in-game economy and either buy higher than other shops, or sell lower or better items than other shops.

It also depends on what item(s) I'm aiming for. Teles and what not are lowest price. A piece of gear or special form of drop, is lowest price but also tends to be rare, so however I can get it, really haha.

I hate people who put deliberately misleading prices in their shop title.

I use a bunny shop, not because I necessarily think people will choose to shop at it for looks, but because I also sell other things in addition to whatever my shop title advertises. Since I keep my shop parked in pretty much the exact same place, it is my hope that the bunny helps my shop be memorable in the event that players later decide they want to buy the other items I'm selling.

From my experience, I don't think the type of shop you have matters. To attract people you need to have something descriptive as title, and to be in the right place. For example, in Lost City herbs and pots are sold at 1k Streams. If I made for selling pots at West, even if I had the best prices in the server, I would sell very slowly because I'm in the wrong place.

When I want to buy, for example, tokens, I know where to go. I go to the west banker because that's were most tokens shops are. Then I go to the ones that say "S>Tokens", or something like that. After that, I compare prices between maybe 3-4 shops and buy from the cheapest.

I think most merchants use shop licenses because of their convenience. You can put longer titles, you have more slots for buying, and selling, and it converts coins to notes automatically for you, so your merchant's bag won't get full of coins.

Oh btw, the reason a lot of ppl use the lighter is because it allows more characters for the title that all other shops. Well, mermaid allows the same amount, but that one auto binds, and most people don't like that.

Of course, I try not to look for fashion to feed the little addiction, but sometimes. . you just cant help but browse to see even though you have the items.

Other than that its just usually things I need.
