I believe we could all benefit from having a section for INI Editing Q&A's, since much is still very confusing, for the most part of what is absolutely a need to know is what is now allowed and what is bannable.

Searching forums myself I've found only vague idea's on what isn't allowed or older posts from before the rule's changed. So I believe this is needed for everyone to be certain and to save GM/Mod's the hassle with useless report tickets being submitted and less "accidentally got myself banned for ini edits".

Also players can discuss certain issues such as how some hair's get blotchy and ways people have discovered ways around it (example: changing forhead shape/size bringing offset hair to be more fitted, ETC.)

My current need to know questions, if anyone can give me solid answers, are:
1. I've seen players with pure red skin/hair, the color codes I found were linked from the official announcement, but I've seen in threads pure black skin and such weren't allowed. I didn't take notice of the dates if they were old. Is there still a limit on skin (or hair) color? If so how far is too drastic? (I'd like to give my main red skin/hair but I don't want to go without confirmation.)
2: I came across a statement of tideborn tattoo's on faces weren't allowed on older classes. Is this still a rule, and/or is Earthguard (being a newer class) allowed to have them?

    (And yes I read the announcement of it and the other page OPKossy linked about how to and (VAGUE) rules.. hence the "VAGUE Idea's" I mentioned of whats allowed or bannable".)

    Also in this section YOU CAN MOVE THOSE LINKS INTO IT SINCE THEYRE KIND OF DIFFICULT TO FIND IN SEARCH, LET ALONE FOR THOSE WHO DONT KNOW ABOUT IT. And you won't have to wait around to feel special by just giving a fancy little link and ignore people who ask for specifics.. It's no wonder people get the idea Mod's/GM's don't listen to anyone, you read but you don't pay attention to what you're reading or you don't view perspectives.

    First of all, the necro itself was against the rules. That, in and of itself, warranted the close since it's advised to simply create a new thread if everything you've found while searching would break that rule.


    Secondly, I did read what you said and both links were relevant with answers. Did you actually read through the threads instead of just getting offended and deciding to repost something that was already answered with a rant tossed in at the end? If you had done so you'd have found even more specifics. Do pay attention or read through the links thoroughly next time as we do tend to give links with answers and extra information when there's no need for us to go and copy/paste what's already been said in them.


    As for your suggestion, right now it's not really something so difficult or varied as to require its own subforum. The fanatics, screenshots and videos, and those two threads in Beginners are more than enough room for it as things are now. If body edits were ever allowed here, then perhaps that could change. As things are now, however, I see no need nor reason to add one.

    Body edits are not allowed, skin color edits are allowed. I think in this instance it would be helpful if you know how to search so you didn't have to read 37 pages to find the information you are looking for.

    If you click those links mentioned earlier while logged in you will see the title of thread along with a bar that says "search this thread," and "display modes." Hit search this thread, and then click "advanced search." From there you can search for posts specfiically by certain users. The person whose name you'll want is v4liance. Any and all rules are listed specifically by him in both the official sticky announcing the rule thread, and in the stickied ini editing guide.

    Lastly, the stickied guide was one I wrote, even though it was listed under my player account. So if you have questions about how to do certain things, you can always ask there. Often times, other players answer before I even get a chance to do so. But if not I'd answer your questions.

    Actually as a matter of fact I did read it.. Thoroughly. Otherwise I tend to stay away from forums because i don't like to deal with idiots. If you'd pay attention I mentioned things are confusing because of old threads.. people themselves not knowing for a fact.. and still some things aren't allowed. SO.. I'm asking to make certain of things. Is that not clear? Also it's this very point why I bring it up in suggestions so people confused like I am.. Wont have to deal with morons like yourself who cant just fkng give a god damn YES red is allowed/not allowed. And Yes tattooes are allowed/Not allowed. We wouldn't be here if those questions were answered properly. Tell me anywhere does it say "There is no limit to Color codes"?? No. It doesn't. It says Skin colors are allowed to be changed. Nothing about a LIMIT to color codes which is what I am asking.

    As for my second question Tattoos on Earthguards. It says "OLD CLASSES" DOES THAT MEAN EARTHGUARDS ARE IN THIS CATEGORY OF "OLD"? CAUSE I SEEM TO RECALL "OLD CLASSES" HAVING TROUBLES WITH HAIR CHANGES BUT NOT TB OR EG. Do you see my confusion here? If I went and made a character right now because I can't get confirmation. Would I be banned for these things? If I did wouldn't you be the jackass at fault because you have to be lazy and arrogant after being confronted? GO read the page yourself to confirm whether you're correct or not. IF these answers are on that page Point them out to me and I'll happily leave this annoying place.

    If you'd stop being arrogant and assuming I can't read I wouldn't have to "rant". More rather that was an addition to my suggestion but you wanted to take that offensively instead of understanding my consideration of making things easy for you as well as everyone else players and mods together is the whole point I went through more effort than just asking in General Discussions. But that'd get me nowhere wouldn't it? Because I'd still be here dealing with the next person like yourself. Trying to tell me the same thing Not caring to understand, just wanting to be lazy and ignorant. I'd still be explaining things because they didn't care to pay attention to things I said and assume just like you did.

    So forgive me for being offended because I don't appreciated being assumed "****" or "lazy" because I DO read and search it's ONLY when I can't find something specific that I ever bother posting anything on forums...

    Also I'd like to point out the search engine sucks.. half the **** you type in wont show every post with the word(s) in their name. Which is why it's difficult for people who don't know about it to find it. Knowing about it myself, I had to use google just to find the damn page because this search engine fails... Which is another reason i brought it into suggestion so it'd be a little more narrowed down for other people.

    If you type "INI" nothing comes up.. "INI Editting" it searches only Editting. Do it yourself to confirm why things aren't easy to find unless its on the front page.

    It's clear you have questions. What was not clear is why you feel the need for an entire sub-forum should be devoted to the idea. Your suggestion is to create an an entire subforum for ini edits only, is it not?

    The reason the necro rule exists is because rules change and nothing at all in those old threads apply anymore. Ignore them completely. This is the exact reason those threads aren't allowed to be posted in, reading the information in those threads needlessly confuses people. The only information you need is in the stickies. And for the record there is no limit to the color codes, which if you had used the tools in my guide you'd see would see give you the ability to pick any color under the sun. That guide would have been closed rather than stickied by the moderators (i was not a mod at that time) if it contained anything that helped you break the rules.

    It says in the first post in the ini edit guide that older classes means the original 6 cannot have tattoos. It's not a rule persay, it's a matter of fact. Attempting to put them on those classes would cause the graphics to break. You can however use the codes to swap eg to tb and vice versa. Which is allowed, as skin is allowed to be changed in so far as you're only using the files specified in the guide.

    Thank you Venus, for finally answering simple questions. As for giving it it's own section I'd already said why I think it should be. People have questions. There are rules. Not everyone knows or can find these answers. Sometimes it's the answers already given that we have further questions for to be certain of. And what just happened here is another reason why it would make it a lot easier on everyone's part. I know for a fact I'm not the only person who needs more specific descriptions to understand something. It's nothing to do with being dumb or too smart, both have the same conflicts whether they're unable to comprehend or have too much in thought to question before they have their own conclusion.

    It's not only for the rules or how to do it either. As I said for an example before, some people have problems when they know what they're doing but it doesn't turn out right. So that would be more for the people who look for side solutions to make it work. There's a lot of questions and answers but they're so far from easily being found. (search engine isn't as efficient as you'd expect I pointed out in the reply before this). There's also "Showoff your character" and others after ini edits came out and I was looking for a certain dark red color code but it took forever to find that. That would also be something that would fit in the section. I found other similar threads but I was looking for a specific reply that had the code in it. So I figure since people have questions like to show screenshots and/or discuss solutions to things, and rules are meant to be known... Why not have it's own section instead of searching the giant General Discussion of everything. People would find solutions easier, have the fun of "show off event" type of things and most of all be able to find the rules without having to ask questions about the answers IF they manage to find the post without having to be linked to it every time. I know the Showoff could flow into Screenshots and video's but screenshots aren't always to show off. It's much easier to show your problem when u cant find/figure out a solution.

    Wouldn't it be less sticky spam on one page to move all commonly asked questions all related to one thing in their own section and not have to keep referring people over and over to the same posts? Character creation is a big part of this game, along with fashion. How many people obsess over the littlest details on how their character looks (face and fash)? I know so many girls who'll blow their money on fashion first before saving it for things they actually need for better gear.

    To be honest I find it hard to understand why this is so questionable but they'll give screenshots/videos its own place.. I'd just take this idea and stick screenshots and video's in it.
