Why Do Factions Blindly Invite?

This has been a sore point to me for a long time. I've answered a few when I've decided to join a faction, but only one faction was worth my time (it was not in this game). Why do some factions blindly invite my toons to join? (I'm not talking about the world broadcasts. Those I understand) Is it that a faction needs/wants certain classes or levels? Or are they just wanting to fill a quota?
I'd like to know something about a faction before I join, more than you are friendly or a family or are looking for active players. Some things that would help:

I'd like to know something about a faction before I join, more than you are friendly or a family or are looking for active players. Some things that would help:
- Chat with me, (if I'm not fighting something). No guild invite.
- Tell me that you've at least posted a notice in this forum, or the Archosaur forum, describing the guild. If so, I promise I will read it.
- I am looking for a set of rules for faction member conduct. Either here or in a web site. I want to know what the Faction expects of me.
If you blindly invite me I'll assume that
- You need to fill the quota
- You expect me to fill some need your faction has
- You have the 'hots' for my toon (hentai).

I never accept random invites but MMOs have so many socially unskilled people in them that I figure thats the problem right there and don't get upset about it.
What does bother me is random PMs asking for help with a quest. This didn't happen to me until I hit 100. Now lowbies keep PMing me asking me to do BH59 for them or some other thing I hate doing.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]0 -

I average about one boss killing or instance run for lowbies a day. But I do it for people WCing, people on friends list or lowbies from fac. If you randomly PM me you go on my **** list.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]0 -

As a leader of a faction on Sanctuary. I wonder why people do it so much I made a rule against it. Though there is a common consensus among the factions I've been in that it's impolite, yet people still do it:
Might be a difference between my way of running (right now i've been off the game and probably will be for a while - other things i life came up) and everyone else's.
Anyway The way I recruit is usually by running with people and if theres someone without a faction, I kindly extend the offer at the end of the run if they chat. if it turns out i like said person - they're mature and are nice to play with in a squad. (nice as a person, not skill) They usually get invited.
Unfortunately for the ten nice people you get a 100 immature kids who care about crits and random pk. Its ridiculous!0 -
Some factions are ridiculous with the amount of free invitations they send out. And in my opinion it is annoying and impolite to do such a thing. And in some ways, it sort of lowers the reputation of that faction.
Alkrivar and I, have the same viewpoint on free invitations, partly due to him and I being the faction leadership of a small PvE faction called "Visceral" on this server. But yes, he did indeed make his own faction.
Anyway, if anyone is thinking about doing it. No! Stop, and think how incomparably annoying you will look.

I am trying to explain this as easily as i can..
I have some experience atleast to post here hopefully.
Im leading a faction called Chemical and here's an overall understanding why we keep recruiting people.
1. Timezone Issues
Since people play this game on different timezones it can get really really boring during some time of the day when nearly no1 is online. That is where increasing member count can help alot. If u get in more people during the same timezone where you are playing yourself then your overall gameplay experience can already become alot more fun.
2. Level Difference - Not powerleveling way
Building a great faction is all about current activity in it (atleast thats how i see it), if your faction is not talkactive or you dont have many players online, then faction can fall apart easily. Again recruiting people can help to get more people on different levels to help or to play together with. Some people just like to enjoy this game as it is and take it slow. I personally prefer to have active lower lvl in that faction rather than inactive higher level.
3. 1st impression if you are recruiting through PM
Asking politely and showing that you really care getting more people and fun in the faction can help. Again if it really comes to recruiting through PMs/Whispers then i still think recieving a pm 1st is a whole lot better than just recieving a random faction invite, not knowing if person really is actually interested of joining.
But overally i think if faction leader and officers can keep up the good work on recruiting and maintaining the faction, then its time to start focusing on certain classes. Before that you are probably a "family" faction and just help people to get geared and ready to move on.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]
