6 lands surrounding base. A lot more territories. Seems fun! Can't wait!

    Look carefully, only light base can't be reached in 2 battles. So you either go to light or hope all the r9s end up in your nation. You definitely don't want to end up in dark, they're weak against 2 nations. Light >>>>> Flame = Frost >>>>> Dark. This new map looks pretty dumb.

    There are a lot of flame lands in the south east that are closer to dark HQ than to flame HQ though. You'd expect these lands to be very difficult for flame to defend. My rough analysis based on number of hops came up with this bias of the new map:

    Light +1.75
    Dark +.25
    Frost -.75
    Flame -1.25

    I'm pretty curious what effect this will have on the battles.

    No need to defend it if you just block their base. Just protect f12 and f8, then roll right on over to their base. You might think it looks even, but the easy paths against flame funnel into f10. While dark has 2 easy paths to base, h5 and h6. It doesn't help that frost also has easy access on the north.

    Something I'm wondering is will it take the same amount of time to cross a section of land as it does now?

    If it does take the same amount of time it means it will now take twice as long to get to certain battles, they could even be over by the time you walk there.

    Porting to battles is starting to look really good right now.

    if they do that on the new EU server, NW is officially dead there.
    with around 600 pl doing it, we will have empty battles only.
    but since gms never really play or monitor the game there, we wont be heard and this change will come to eu servers too. GG NW.

    This is still a step in the right direction, and all anyone can talk about is which nation got shafted the most in terms of how many territories you need to cross to baselock? You realize it's that mentality which causes problems like these, right?

    Hell, let's see how easy it even is to lock six territories after the update, before we start ragequitting every time we end up in Flame nation. XD

    1. With 6 lands around the nation base, it will be harder to base lock (i.e it will be easier to escape base lock)
    2. The number of active battles at any particular moment will increase (by around +25%).
    3. For non-elite squads (90% of the population), their performance and personal credits will see an increase because it will be easier to find and get into battles (rather than to wait around in empty lands behind the front lines or being base lock).
    4. For elite squads, it will be harder to find good battles and good points. It is less likely that elite squads will bump into each other. Attacking unprotected lands will more likely be empty. Scrub opposition will always have the option to leave and switch to another battle.
    5. Overall, the total amount of credits generated per nation will increase (due to increased number of battles), meaning that the number of tokens earned per 1000 credits will decrease (by around 25%). Nonetheless, for the majority of players will be earning a lot more credits, thus, earning more tokens.
    6. Since it will be easier to move around and get into battles, more people will bring more alts into NW.
