windows 8 issues

ok so im not sure if its windows 8 causing problems but i got a new laptop (with windows 8) downloaded perfect world withought norton activated, the game worked fine last night n i log in today and i have 0 ping i cant fly i cant do anything then after a couple of minutes it disconnects me from game. soooo any1 have any ideas what might be the problem (norton is still turned off so its not the firewall) b:sad

    How did you turn Norton off?

    Why not just allow the client through the firewall?

    If you disable the Norton firewall, check to make sure that the Windows firewall didn't turn on in it's place.

    Did you exclude the client directory from all of Nortons scans? If not, it almost certainly deleted/cleaned/quarantined some of the files, which could cause you problems.

    urm cuz im not used to norton and am a complete ****** when it comes to this stuff LOL windows firewall did come on from the looks of it. sooo what your saying is im going to have to re download it after adding it to norton?

    No, just verify the files a couple of times and then reboot your computer.

    One verify rarely fixes it. I typically will run it three times if I need to fix some files.

    Google is your friend. Norton has plenty of guides on their site, plus I'm certain you can find loads of detailed instructions and videos on the web.

    ahhhh okies ty for the help im too frazzeled to do it tonight ill give it a shot tomorrow :)
