'unable to proceed with update' message

Hi all

I haven't played in a few weeks or so. I opened the launcher and was greeted with a well-lit start button and a msg stating it is unable to proceed with update.

When attempting to use the element client, it indicates that an update is required.

There appears to be to patches listed [EN] patch-1 and [EN] patch-2.

Is there a way to apply the patches and bypass the update settings?

side note: this happened before but I'm afraid I've forgotten the cure from before.
