I'm excited to play this epic game but I'm not sure which job should I roll. So here are my concerns:

I like ranged(probably magic based) classes but others say I should create a farmer toon first to gear it up. Is that true? If yes, which class do you prefer as a farmer? Otherwise, why shouldn't I and just focus on my main character? (I don't like to heavily rely on Cash shops to be wealthy; low maintenance)

I'm rooting for a DD class with FLASHY skills that shines in endgame. Not being rejected in squads and can be lucrative at latter part of gaming. I like PVP too(1v1, TW and the like) but I want to focus on the PVE side of the game. Solo instances if I can.

Go play another game then b:thanks this one's on its last legs

Otherwise Veno would be good; cheap to play early on, cheap to gear, useful in NW from level 60 (purge+amp sucks on anyone), never need pots in regular PVE except in an emergency, flexible culti, super-flexible building, decent support at endgame.

Farming toons in this game are 100+ assassins/blademasters with gear costing near a billion

Walpurga - Dreamweaver I also just started, again, so I am just wondering why do you say this game is on its last legs?

We just explained that in this and thistread.

We should actually get some sticky tread to answer the questions `can i play this without spending money`, `why does noone join my squad for my lvl xx quest` etc b:chuckle

In all seriousness though, it can be a great game if you play it with some friends that want to play it the same way you do. And there probably are some online, you just gotta find them though.

And to OP, for the goal that you indicate, indeed a blademaster or assasin are the ways to go. A barb can also do the same job. Personally i would choose the blademaster or barbarian since the assasin is looked down upon by many players since it is chosen by too many kids that appear rather stupid and bad mannered but have a thick wallet.

As explained in linked posts, what you intent to do is however not for the casual gamer. I myself am also reasonably new to this game, but i am not scared away by the dark facts that i explained in linked posts myself. I am an idiot gamer who can easilly spend an average of 80 hours a week on a game and i take the effort to teach myself to be an efficient farmer and merchant. If you are like me, the game might just be perfectly right for you. And really half a billion is enough to make a farmer.

[Hint] I actually made that sticky post, it just needs to be stickied now [/hint]

And i managed to keep out the cynical notes and make it worthy stickying i think b:chuckle

So forget about my more cynical writings i linked before, and lets see things from a more positive perspective ;)

    Barbs are good for farming:

Have fast run speed in tiger form, making it quite to run between mobs and mats.

Good aoes if you play in human form, plus some in tiger form.

Easy to get into squads for instances - barbs are second-most desired class in a BH squad after cleric.

    Follow-up question:
Which is more convenient to be? SIN or BM?

In terms of gearing up and level of difficulty in playing.

Which is faster to level up and empower? Which can solo instances easily and on earlier levels?

Thanks for the replies! Kudos to my fellow lovers of the game :))

Sin for end game work - much better than BM from what I've seen. Sins need Demon spark and -int gear (to get high-aps) before they can solo anything.

BM can manage bosses earlier on in the game. It's possible for them to achieve 2APS from lvl70 onwards and wear heavy armour.

Only Venos can really solo instances unless wearing very expensive TT90 and upwards gear. They take ages to do it tho'.

My mystic could solo TT1-1 single mode from lvl81 onwards, but can't manage bh59.

You need a squad or to dual-client with a healer and DD to 'solo' instances.

    my 2c = seeker
according to your op & the follow up question, in no particular order...
    flashy skills
    ranged phys/mag attacks
    continuous AoE
    DD
    Tank
Can solo instances, but most classes can if they are beyond certain lvls
Is heavily desired in endgame squads

    also:...
    moves quickly
don't need aps so that's a big coin saver on any server
can buy a pickaxe to farm just like anyone else
    generally better character customization
