Evenin' PWI'ers

My name is ArcWave S. Archein, i regularly review online games in my spare time and i have come to a conclusion. b:chuckle

Before i even started to play any PW related games, i was a regular *removed* player... b:surrender

Good game... but a ridiculous amount of players under 16 years old and/or toxic players

I've nearly played every MMO out there and i've seen it all, ragequitters, scammers even an outrageous amount of hackers (Yes *removed*, i'm looking at you)... Yet i've come to the conclusion that there are (nearly) no toxic players on PWI (or any PW games).

That's why i crown this game: best community and playerbase. b:cute

But... My question to you, PWI, Players, Staff members is...

How the bloody hell do you do it? b:shocked

There's toxic people everywhere, in real life, in every games and even in PWI, you got the chance to don't meet some, you have luck, touch wood and keep it that way.

There's always good and bad people everywhere.

If you didn't meet anyone bad in PWI well I'm glad for you and hope it will stay that way.

    =)

It just depends on where you look, *removed* has an abundance because of the sheer volume of players. PWI doesn't have nearly as many total players, it's relatively small in comparison and the few "decent" people that play tend to keep to themselves more often than not because of the spambots and idiots flooding chat. PWI has more than its fair share of idiots and annoyances, so many that referring to it as the "best" of anything is far from accurate.

To be perfectly honest I actually enjoy the *removed* community more when it doesn't come down to the idiots, the quality players there usually turn out pretty interesting, PWI has interesting people but those tend to be few and far between in my experience. It's too full of power hungry credit card warriors buttonmashing their keyboards and stroking their epeen.

You know, it's kinda funny. When I play on my lvl 100 characters, I'm always annoyed at all the scammers and rude, inconsiderate players I tend to squad with. Maybe It's because I play on a PVP server, idk. But when I play my low lvl wiz I get random players trying to help me with quests and BH/FBs (and they give me the molds). They don't get much out of it besides a small amount of rep and it's not like they are bringing in their alts for the same quests and instances. There was one player who even let me tag along on a big room he bought, so it was a free big room for me. I thought maybe it was because my character is really cute? But so are my lvl 100 characters lol

I have not played that many mmorpg and also I only play on Heaven's Tear server (pve), so I can't really judge. Also I'm pretty new to this game. But I do noticed many people are extremely helpful to us low levels. I have on occasions asked in world chat for help and almost immediately was flooded with offers of assistance.

Quests of the romantic type, fashions and the ability to get married attract a large following of female gamers, thus making this mmorpg more balanced gender wise which in turn make people more well mannered. This is not just a fighting game but also a social game as well.

b:chuckle Btw on my server I think last 5 days probably 200-300 couples tied the knot.b:pleased

Honestly the playerbase here USED to be really nice. It isnt so much now. Id love to get back to a much friendlier and helpful playerbase, but i dont think it is going to happen. Too many people want to solo everything or rush through stuff instead of developing any kind of togetherness with other players. We have botters, just some of us take care of the problem ourselves instead of going to the GMs for help, since little gets done that way right now.

However, they are working on improving that. So maybe if that improves, the community will improve. Id hate to see this game go anymore downhill. I honestly think we are pretty close to the bottom, and we are going to have a rough time clawing our way back up the hill.

Above posters ^ root of problem.

You refuse to see that there is actually, a lot of nice players on this game. While its true that, like any game, you get a distribution of players (saints, average, and demons), PWI---at least the PvE servers, to say the least---attract fewer players of the... how to best describe it.

    "
    I R PWNZ U NUB!

    RAGE!!!

I R 16 with NO LIFE DIE NOOBZ!
    "

These people. I too have played other games and sure PWI has *some* people like this, but really not as many as you'd expect if you did a side by side % comparison with other popular games.

And as one poster above did point out, why does this game have fewer people of this sort? It is precisely because this game *isn't* quite as *hardcore* as some of the other games out there. There are a lot of aspects to this game that attract people who aren't necessarily interested in clawing their way to the top of the pyramid/food chain. The character customizations, the marriage system, the fashion, and the beautiful scenery of the game, for example, do much to attract people interested in a more social game. My girlfriend, for example. And most of my friends.

OP: the above posters represent the forum population: a subset of PWI players that tend to be angst-ridden and disillusioned, for a myriad of reasons, some undoubtedly legitimate. However, inside the game, forum-users are the minority, and as such, never take *too* seriously anything you read here regarding the actual state of the game, for good or for ill.

    Cheers!

    Azzazin

He's right, I know lots of people who play this game just for the fashion and customization. And they are all nice people who don't care if they're the pwning anybody or the bestest pvper evarrrrr.

Because the majority of toxic players, scammers, and grievers were attracted to the newer games that has a better graphic, bigger playerbase, and faster paced battle like of that action mmorpgs out there..

PWI is pretty old, no wonder it is less attractive compared to the newer games. And I think a big part of the playerbase consist of old players, returning old players, and their friends.. These people are less likely to login to the game for harassing and scamming others..

This community has it's fair share of bad players too, but on the whole I think it is pretty awesome. You can find friendly factions and friendly players much more easily here. In fact, it's one of the the things that has kept me at this game. I've quit the game for a few weeks from time to time and tried other games, and it was always much harder to find helpful people to get me through low level content on those types of games than in this one. Players still write wonderful guides to any and all new content and not just by combining through the data files but by completing the content with their friends and writing personalized guides that are a real gain to the community and remain relevant for long periods of time. Even rolling a new server turned out to be much easier than I ever thought it would be because it wasn't hard to quickly find friendly people willing to talk to me, encourage me, help me out, and occasionally put with me venting my frustration at some of the negative differences between the servers. ^_^; I may not have played as many mmos as some other people but in general this indeed has been the best community I've come across for the most part.

Of course i'm not in the hardcore high level farming club (i'm a casual farmer/merchant) or done a lot of PvP, but Nation Wars so far has removed at lot of at the trolly aspects when I do pvp by virtue of it's anonymity. So it's not so bad.

Toxic players are often hoping between games and get tired quickly from long term games like pwi. If you're not constant and patient here, you'll be a 1shot forever.

Forums is not the best place to ask for opinion or make statistics, 90% of the forum population are trolls bored at work etc... I saw that many people are just negative about the subject, but it's just cause the toxic players are always more noticeable ingame than the normal kind people.

To put an example, in my server whenever a TW ends between the two top factions, they don't even pk eachother out of respect.

All in all, I agree with the OP pretty much.

PWI reminds me of a little town I used to live in. Far from the
madding crowd, quaint, full of character. One of those towns where
everyone pretty much knew everyone else, and if they didn't, still
just knowing you lived there automatically made a friendly connection.

Life was relatively laid-back & slow-paced. Everyone had the subliminal
sense of belonging to a sort of "family" and treated each other accordingly.

Then a freeway got laid down just outside city limits. We were just near
enough the big city so that it wasn't long before it started to encroach.
First a Walmart, then a Home Depot, then the long list of food and retail
franchises. And the quaint little town got buried under the cheap glitz
and sameness of crass commercialization you see all across America these
days. All character lost; all uniqueness gone; sense of community
obliterated. It was now a "bedroom community" full of people who just
wanted to rush home to eat, sleep, do what they had to do so they could
rush back off to work in the city the next day. It got to where most
people didn't know each other, and didn't CARE to know each other.

For awhile, while the old-timers were still around, there was still a
small enclave of the "old" town. But they eventually faded away--moved,
died, whatever--leaving only the newcomers with no sense of the history
or feel of the old days. More crime, more filthiness, more ugliness,
    rudeness, lack of caring, etc.

PWI has gone the way of society in general I'm afraid. Though I didn't
think about it one way or the other back when I first started playing
almost 4 years ago, compared to now, it's like the players back then had
more class. It just seems like they had a little more sophistication,
definitely exhibited greater maturity & restraint--in general, the game
community just had a more civilized feel to it.

Now, instead of feeling like I'm in a cozy, mom-and-pop store where
people hold doors for others, politely let others go ahead of them in lines,
smile and make small talk, in no great hurry to get things done, now I feel
like I'm sitting in some huge, generic mall infested with throngs of loud,
    half-dressed, obnoxious, self-absorbed, generic-looking teenagers whose
highest thought processes revolve around the stuff they have or
    want to have.

Anyway . . . the game community used to be better, just like society
in general used to be better imo.

b:embarrass__I Guess that I've either must of awoken into a Parallel dimension today or found someones unique way for a trolliolio'opis thread here????

As for the current populace being a (kinder, gentler & more friendly group) thats only because most everyone else left (long ago), leaving only the most seriously loyal & understandably tollerable players here...

    ((Supplemented by BOTz ofcourse though))...b:chuckle

Especially now, that many of the {Power-leveling no-Questie Wannabe Failbabies} have finally left (Since they made nothing but messes out of the squads they joined up with and ended up with Skill Rep's that no one wanted to risk having on their squads) Most the rare & few lows characters that are still appearing on game now a days, actually seem to have players behind them that actually want to try and quest for proper leveling & skill gains again, even while trying to still pay for more FF's bigroom runs...) Interesting that many of the remaining 1s finally chose to learn/level their own characters & use a more moderate form of 'Power Leveling' for a decent leveling of their characters & skills package (rather then the 1-105 in a month crowd (who still had only level 1 skills (with which) to unimpress the rest of us with)....b:laughb:thanks

Its to bad it didn't happen sooner though, maybe more people would have stayed on the game rather then leave it because of that unmitigated mess the {PL~FBz} left the rest of us in over they're blind runs for skilless glory....b:surrender
