Tried to get into PWI today using my desktop launcher. I got the PackDll message and followed another threads instructions.

Now, I can't even re-download the game. AutoRun.inf keep coming up in notepad and the whole procedure stops. The text says:

[autorun]
open=Install.exe
icon=icon.ico

The only thing I can think of that is happening here is Windows had a big update last night. Maybe it's seeing certain files as trojans? Anyways, hope someone has some suggestions for me. Thanks!!

    You didn't look far enough. Search for autorun in this forum and you'll have your answer.

    Also, you should bother to read the hundreds of posts about your antivirus.

    It's happening because you never excluded your files and as a result of that, they were eaten by your security software.

    What's really bad is that even if you did actually read the forums some already, there's a thread concerning this specifically on the main page of this forum where the answers have been posted multiple times. (For some stupid reason people feel the need to resurrect the thread with the same answer worded differently.
    Take the time to look for your answer before you post like an idiot.

    Um, wow. Thanks . . . I think.

    You know what is funny? I did go to all the posts searching for Autorun and all I get is Allisandre replying in her huffy way and not really giving any information at all. :)

    First of all, we have an edit button. Please use it in the future instead of double posting. With that said, are you sure about that?

    http://pwi-forum.perfectworld.com/showpost.php?p=18662111&postcount=53 Last post on the very first result excluding this one that tells you what to do.

    http://pwi-forum.perfectworld.com/showthread.php?t=1556241&highlight=Autorun Second result. Second post answers it and it even continues beyond that with more information.

    http://pwi-forum.perfectworld.com/showthread.php?t=1559701&highlight=Autorun Result 3. Second post is asking for more information to be safe. Third post is a quote showing what to do. Click the button to lead to what it quotes and the post below it has step by step instructions.

    http://pwi-forum.perfectworld.com/showthread.php?t=1514131&highlight=Autorun Fourth result. Page 2 has the image and step by step instructions shown already.

    http://pwi-forum.perfectworld.com/showthread.php?t=1556711&highlight=Autorun Result 5. Even MORE of the same telling you what to do.

    http://pwi-forum.perfectworld.com/showthread.php?t=1532541&highlight=Autorun Sixth. Also tells you what to do to deal with it.

    And that's the first six of.... 86 threads with the word in it that likely have the solution in them all. I highly doubt you actually searched like you claimed you did or I wouldn't have had to point this out at all.

    Yup, which is why I an not giving the answer again. If you spent 2 minutes actually looking, you would have found all the answers aplenty. I mean really. When my daughter was 8 she could go out and find solutions to problems with her games before bugging me about it. I can't imagine that any of the forum readers here are any less intelligent. Lazier maybe, but not dumber than an 8-year-old.

    If you post an issue that is truly puzzling, and actually provide helpful information on it, I am quite pleased to lend a hand and dig into the problem. It's what I enjoy doing and why I lurk about on the forums. But when it's a stupid questions that can either be answered by the OP if they bothered to use some common sense, or something that has already been answered in great detail many times, I have little patience for the lazy folks.

    Edit: Hell even if it's not puzzling, and has been simply answered many times, if the OP acually bothers to provide information I may provide a specific answer. (Like in the case of not having a real video driver. With the right information, I'll actually bother to look at the specific driver they need and post a link to it instead of just posting, "get a real video driver".)
