This Game Leads to a dead end

I have been playing this game for 4 years.. thinking it would get better! I gave this game four years of my time and long hours of playing. The only thing they did is add more and more new things instead of improving the game play. its seems like the cashshop is the only thing they update. besides the new classes, skils, insstances
This game is freaking dead!! for example when you make a new character the freaking low lvl areas are deserted!!
Firstly, switching off that **** font size.
Secondly, the fact that you couldnt achieve anything throughout 4 years means that you are absolutely unskilled player. You couldnt even level past 100 any of your chars.
I agree that PWI is not the best game for non-CSers like me. But once I've been interested in this game I could easily cope with any problem, no matter expensive endagame gear(merched R9 in 4 months lazy-mode, pretty slow though), or level(leveled to 103 with FC/PV and was enough for safe PvP).
Even after 2 years of playing, me, honest PWI citizen, got banned and I dont care about this anymore, because I had wonderful time playing this game, achieving endgame goals, making new friends, defending a honor of my faction and never QQing how this game were designed.Achieved R9 before it was mainstream.

LMAO UNSKILLED.. lvl does not mean a thing. Maybe i like to take my time?
im not even worried about the end game gear, im worried about the game play and improving this game overall to make it more fun for low and high lvls both. Even at my lvl i find this game quite boring, like there is nothing to do. But hey what am i to complain im still playing it.. but it bugs me most that this has been ongoing issue and it seems like they continue to ignore it.
low lvls cat even grind money because they nerfed that part. its like you have to spend money now0 -
As I get stronger, I like to test the limits of my abilities more and more.
If you think about it like this, there are always new and interesting things to do. Sure Harpy Wraith gets soloed... but has it been soloed by a cleric? Lets see if its possible.
Could that cleric really pull a catapult in TW? Lets try it!
Pk against 2 other r9rr +12 people at once? Lets see how it goes.
Pulling all the mobs of (insert instance name here) and aoeing them at end without dying?! Can it be done? Lets find out. Oh, you got creamed half way through? ****, try again with a new strategy.
Playing one character is too boring? Play two at the same time, bonus points if you do it so smoothly that nobody notices! Bonus points * 10 if they are in separate instances.
Want to become rich? Learn how to outsmart your merchanting competitors and gain the most riches in the fastest way possible over time. This is another form of challenge for me.

A lot of the fun of endgame is gonna be PvP content, its true. The endgame, PvP-focus gear has outpaced the PvE content, and I assume that the developers likely realize this as well. I wouldn't be surprised to see the next content update including new, more challenging PVE content for the new legions of r9rr players who, like me, want to test their limits while also earning profit.
After all, as others have mentioned, PWI has continually, slowly at times, but continually kept upgrading the game content. Remember, we didn't use to have morai, or advanced endless universe, which were huge, entirely PVE updates that are fairly recent. We just had a big PVP upgrade, I'm willing to bet the next upgrade introduces something PVE related.

If you are not the type of person who is able to find ways to make things interesting, you will probably lose focus with any game you play. You will go into a game, rush to become strong in it, reach the 'endgame', get bored because you geared yourself up strong enough so that things seem too easy now, and then leave.
If what you really want is the challenge, don't rush to remove the challenge so much. If what you want is to be super strong, well get strong, and then enjoy it; don't complain about boredom, lol, you got just what you wanted right?!

My thoughts, take em as you will.

1) You are low lvl, so you haven't even experienced this endgame content you are denouncing. Precognitive judgementality?
2) You are low lvl, after a very long time. Naturally you are still stuck in the inbetween stages; you've outgrown a number of low level instances, and you haven't reached endgame content yet. Why the heck do you subject yourself to this? Do yourself a favor, and go lvl to 100, should only take 3 days of FC.
3) Various ways to get free gear as a low level atm (Dreamchaser packs), quests give more coins, low lvl mats rarely get farmed so their prices have gone really high (make sure you stay low lvl on purpose to farm some of the extremely valuable mats such as concentrated glue, rough fur, etc). Anybody can mine herbs. Don't act like DQ was the only way to get coins for a low lvl. Sure its a loss, but dang man, show some adaptability!
4) 'its like you have to spend money'. To... what? No, you never *need* to spend money. PWI provides you with in-game ways to make coins, and these coins can be used to purchase ANYTHING that cashers can get. PWI cannot be blamed if you flatly ignore or refuse to utilize those methods. So, these methods take longer than cashing? What, you want to become super-strong, super fast, but also not spend a single dollar? Puh-leze, lol! Either you put in the time, or you put in your real life cash. This is a game, but it is also a business, and it has to support itself with the real life cash of players. It is only LOGICAL that real life cash provides you with a speed advantage over obtaining what you want in this game.

well they distroyed delta and nirvy, gave nw instead for the cashing,
there are still multiple ways too achieve the t2-3 nirv or r9rr if you wish.
seen plenty of ppl do so without spending a dim.
it takes time.sure, but lvl 1 toon too 100 and stop complaining bec there is where you can save up various things that give coins right away like mirrages(10K ea doesn't seem worth it but if you have like 1K+ that is 10mill) and those things will never change.
i won't mention the chance on cards (2 mill or 5 mill) wich are quite common :P
as for endgame gear, well if you aim for r9rr without cashshopping,gl...
t3 nirvy is way cheaper and has more power than r9 on it's own.
use more brainz and less Q__Q.

Some of you do not get the point!
It does not matter what lvl you are... yeah he could lvl up too 100. so what? the point he is trying to get across is that no matter the lvl the game is lacking in content. So lets say he reaches lvl 100, he still will feel the same way he did a few lvls ago.. not much change except you have new skills. okay great. but where is the fun at being a high lvl?
I myself have spoken to many high lvls who have obtained their nirvana, r9 ect.. and my question i ask them. "what is there to do once you have your gear?" and they respond.. "pk, help low lvls"
Is that really all their is to do? when i reach my end game gear i want it to be put to use. What is the point of working so hard to get this gear only to be bored and have nothing to do.
NW came out but it stil is boring, all i see it is a way to kill each other. Whats the fun in that..we already do that in TW and pk.. all it has is added perks. like tokens big whoop.
I wanna see something that wil benefit all lvls! you can enter NW at lvl 60.. but all your gona do is get your azz whopped. Maybe come out with like 10 tokenes. some people dont even get that. Waste of two hours and pots right? How about they add something that add an element of something to do in the game? Where i can say "hey i finished all my dailies, i guess ill go do this now."
Half the time i feel like all this game has is, Leveling up, farming gear, and running instances. (for non pkers) besides those there main things.. what else can be accounted for?0 -

No idea what you expected from a MMORPG. There is literally only 2 parts to this: stuff for bettering your character, stuff to use your bettered character for. At absolute end game there is only pvp in all MMORPGs. All the other stuff you can only do so many times before you are bored out of your mind or no longer need to do.0 -

Seriously tho, it's inherent in us human beings to grow tired of
things. Something is NEW only once. How many times can you
see a movie before you're sick of it? Or read a book?
I've often thought the best ability we could have would be
selective memory loss, to be able to wipe out specific things
in our memory. I've often wished I could read Jane Austen's
Emma for the first time again.
Yeah, they could add more content (and they have actually), but it's
still basically "more of the same." And it's unavoidable.
I would say I wish I could wipe out my memory of this game, and
start all over, but I'd only want it if the game were like it was
when I started 4 yrs ago, not like it is now.
I wonder if they were to add a ton of new content directed at all
the high-lvl, op-geared players that involved getting out in
the world instead of just instances? Would that help? I don't
know.
On a side note, yesterday I created a new mystic. I didn't do any
of the starter quests or anything. I created the char, and immediately
started off (lvl 1, no gear, a lvl 0 wep) to see if I could run to
Archosaur successfully. And I did it. Yes, it took me a couple of
hours but it was fun, lol. I think I might start a new char in Raging
Tide, and see if I can run to 1K Streams, lol. (As you can tell, I'm
weird, have more time than I know what to do with, so invent my
own fun, lol.)0 -

I find this false, this is not true that all there is to do is pvp at end game in all MMORPGS.... This is like saying everyone hates sushi
I know a few games that are P2P, or pay once and play that have elements that keep the game fresh and always have something to do.
For example game A could have a system that makes all instances forever changing, eaech time you enter the instance it is set up differently. this could add some element of surprise
Example 2, game B integrates a series of different pvp challenges. Lets say there is a daily pvp ground, for you certain level range. A daily pvp quest..
Example 3, lets say if you are a pot crafter.. instead of running around picking up the mats, you can grow and maintain your own garden. And how well you maintain it the better the mats..
My point im trying ro get across is a 5 year old could come up with better ideas for this game, to make it more live and add more content. Anyone.. could come up with 5 things off the top of their head to make this game better.0 -

I also disagree with this. True, you are describing the current state of
PWI specifically, but it does not hold that it is invariably true of MMO's
in general.
Someone mentioned in some other thread a few weeks ago that this game needs
more of the SURPRISE factor, and I agreed. I still maintain that adding
more surprises to the game would enliven things quite a bit.
First thing they could do, as was mentioned then, is to vary what the
mobs/bosses do in each instance. They should behave differently, attack
differently, etc., each time you go in. Change up the number, type &
positioning of mobs in instances. Adding several different instances to
the daily bh's would help a lot; just changing the particular boss you
need in an instance would be an improvement.
Add more world bosses, and have them spawn virtually anywhere, anytime.
(After all, they ARE called "world" bosses.)
Imagine Harpy Wraith suddenly spawning in the swamps--there you are, killing
the headless horse things, and suddenly Harpy appears beside you, lol. Sure,
you'll probably be dead in the next couple seconds, but realistically,
probability dictates this would only happen to a player maybe once in his
whole game-playing career. And it would be worth it imo, just for the sheer
madness of it.
Then the call goes out on wc--"Harpy in the Swamp!!" Players flock there
to see who can kill her; bunch of pk as players try to stop others from
getting the kill; etc.
Everything has just become too predictable in this game. A by-rote
formula has developed for just about everything. Hence, players' minds
become focussed on only one thing: acquiring better stuff.
Now I know that this is exactly what PWI wants, so I realize I'm just
dreaming here. But I so wish PW would turn their attention a bit
toward "what can make the game better?", rather than "what can
make us money?" I know PW is a business, and must consider ways
to make their product profitable. I just happen to believe there's a
balance in which BOTH could be addressed. Sadly, it seems PW has
totally weighted down the moneymaking side of the scale.0 -

It has been months since i quit the game except for few logins to check whats up but yea, already uninstalled. I remember the days on PWI when lvl90 with "a shiny weapon" was something amazing. But that's gone. I've met for all time of playing a lot engame players like those gmaerboy mentioned and got the same answer. Pk or help lowlvls. Sounded good until I found out that I AM lowlvl. "Lowlvl" now is lvl70-90 and everything below that is basically extinct.
Some of you might remember that months ago I replied to one thread like this one. Basically I was QQing. The reason I left the game is lack of new players. But now I realize that there really was no reason to QQ. Really what to QQ about? Yes, few of my friends are still playing PWI but absolute majority of my fl are dead chars. Many left for other games, private servers or just found something else to do. Most of the map are deserted areas. There was really nothing to hold me in this game.
I know that after ALL this time and effort "stop QQing and farm to death or just quit" feels like a slap but they are right. That's all that there is left to do. The "fun" moved from actual lvling to lvl100, from running the instance to getting the mat, from crafting to owning the gear, etc. etc. I admit that after all that time I felt kind of betrayed and that I really wasted my time. But I know that I didn't. I had a lot of fun with my friends. I've spent many hours just HAVING FUN. Even though those times are gone, everything has its end and I am just thankful for what I got. Game is old and all I can say is that I wish luck to all those who are still playing. Whatever the reason is for it (Friends, money/time spent), thank you guys for participating and helping!b:thanks
I will still read forums from time to time because who knows, something might change! But if not then this is my farewell! Stay awesome guys! Elax, aasss-naked gull cleric AKA Tuli -> OUT!b:victory0 -

The thing I'm trying to get across is the REASON to do any of those over and over again. There is none, unless you are a crazy. Maybe I just don't understand the mindset of you people just like how I wonder why people would play sports game in the middle of the day while you can just go outside and do it.
Also, I said absolute endgame. That means any anything that can be done for gear would have been done already. Therefore any instances/boss/w/e that still would be interesting would not drop anything of value as loot. It doesn't matter what the instance does, all you are doing now is running through a corridor and killing a boss which is offered by almost all other games. And when I say pvp, I literally mean player vs player. It doesn't just boil down to killing each other, it could be any form of competition. Therefore, realistically, there is only pvp at the end of any MMORPG unless you are crazy... There is a reason why single player games can only be played for so long, and why there is a handful of people that can play them forever b:chuckle0 -

They don't have their mind on money as much as people like to think.... as there are tons of opportunities they miss out on to do exactly that.

Don't kid yourself thinking they neglect these opportunities out of altruism.
Believe me, there's NOTHING on their mind but money, which stands to
reason as they ARE a business for profit after all. Profit is their raison d'etre.
It's not like they're trying to change the world or something.
It's just that there's a fine line they have to walk. How to push the limits
of money-making ideas while still maintaining the semblance of a game.
I think they've stepped over the line several times, thus shortening the
life of a game that could have lasted much longer.0 -

Also, I remembered people that do not really power level at all (which was a rare thing) and do not play as long as you guys do are still under 70 after 3-4 years of playing. You do not know if they play for how much time, especially now. My recent amount of time playing was about 2 hours max and I spent my time gaining coin instead of leveling, and I was around 8x and I played once a week until I stopped last month.
As I said, just because you can easily get to 100 in a couple of weeks or less, does not mean anything. Not everyone does that boring instance because of those weak-sauce mobs that are easily one-shot by level 50s or less. Most people don't even do full FCs anymore anyway.
I did agree with this here. I have no idea how much people value those mats for right now hence of me not playing. DQs are not the only way but it did damage low and mid levels. Except for mid levels (which are 57+), mats were not valuable except for colored glue (from HT I know) at all, so how can they make coin? TT? That's pointless... NW? They much be level 60 at least and must be in a winning nation on a server that values the things.
Basically getting super strong with the huge cost of real life money is beyond ridiculous. You can get super strong for free via NW and super fast. You don't even need R9 at all unless you want a purify proc on a caster class.
Use those brain cells!

Replies in yellow, and using brain cells are not really needed anymore actually since the gears now are ridiculously OP, especially third cast R9. b:laughThis game is fail-proof unless you are dumber than a donkey. ...Too bad a lot of players fall into that exact category. ~maocchi
Level 81 HA/APS Fox, Level 75 VIT/defense tiger, Level 56 VIT/APS Seeker, Level 54 Dual sword BM, Level 36 assassin, Level 38 Archer, level 32 Priestess, level 41 Wizard on this account. HT~

Of course it's about the money, how do you think they keep the game up?
Pft, Charity? b:laugh0 -
Cmon people, every single company that makes games, do it to make profit! End of story. Stop with that greedy talk. Every company is greend but PWE is just bad at running and managing their games.Cody__Tylor - Heavens Tear wrote: »Basically getting super strong with the huge cost of real life money is beyond ridiculous. In what universe you can get super strong fast in NW? Now you can't get almost any coins back from NW if you're not super OP to start with. With prices going down and with getting 5-50 tokens per NW you can't even buy charm, pots, repairs. Forget about getting any major profit from NW if you're not already +10/12 Stage 3 Nirv or R9. Yes, it's easy to get Stage 3 Nirvana now, but it's useless without +10 refines and great shards in it. And that's what's costs money, a lot of money, either real cash or in game coins. And because you're forced to do PVP in a totally PVP broken game, there's little to none joy in doing PVP in Stage 3 Nirv gear with +5 refines and Flawless shards...0
