R9 Armor or Weapon First?
I have a psychic level 98, but saving up coins to R9 him. I have 66 General Summers Tokens and 5 Medals of Glory saved up so far. Should I keep saving to get weapon plus ring, or is it more worth it to use the R8 weapon and get the armor first?

Yup. Can't deal damage when you're dead.0 -

Me personally... I always see a character's weapon as most important gear piece, hands down, period. The Ring will obviously eat 3 MoGs and 32 GSTs on ya... you still need 3 MoGs and 51 GSTs for your weapon. +refine that baby best you can afford, the weapon refine grants highest bonus to your soulforce over any other gear piece of equal refine. +10 will grant you about 20k+ soulforce... If you can go +12 it will grant you 30k+ soulforce. Its a big advantage over most of the 15k-ish soulforce psys around level 100.
Survivability wise. The dead cant attack you, and a powerful weapon used correctly will certainly make sure of that. If you are the type thats 'eh skillwise, thus seeming to die alot in the pve instances you do... Then perhaps I would listen to the armor first people. Good luck to ya no matter which route you choose b:victory[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]0 -

I'm still definitely learning how to be better with Psychics, I have a char of every class (3 that are 101) so it gets difficult to be pro with all of them b:lipcurl
I might wait till I hit 101 to make the decision and see how my mats situation is.A prima luce usque ad lucem

Armor first. Get more of the set bonus. No one cares about pve....esp a guy who sounds like he's making an alt. Doubt the psy is gonna be for pve0 -

In my experience, from playing multiple classes, each has something to learn from playing them in order to adopt certain ways of doing things to each of the other classes. Psychic 101 in PvP is white voodoo, prep, black voodoo for the kill. 101 in PvE is aggro control and solo self buffed to learn your limitations in what you can handle, thus becoming better when grouped with group buffs to boot. PvP and PvE each utilizes a (primarily) different set of genie skills as well for maximum efficiency.
As long as you are gathering mats & hopefully grabbing supply tokens too, the direction you choose might be something not even available at the moment. (I do hear rumors about yet another expansion of gears to come in the months ahead). Given such rumors (if they are true), I do suggest grabbing as many raps from supply tokens as you will possibly need now, as the raps in particular would end up going up in price. But if you are planning to go r9, you'd only need to worry about uncannies, so that shouldnt really effect you.MageFizban - Lost City wrote: »Armor first. Get more of the set bonus. PvE aint the point. The point is, if they are dying all the time in pve then there aint no chance they are gonna be able to survive vs equal gears in PvP. I say WEAPON first personally. To boot, the weapon is the worst part to gather/cs... if you do the hard part first, the rest will be a cake walk comparitively. And I hold no doubts to anything anymore... Ive seen lots of people do lots of things that I dont even want to try to understand. But some people like pve, others like pvp, then there are those like myself that likes both.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]0 -
In general classes in the same category as psychics and archers in mmos need weapon the most to climb the ladder. With pwi the thing is that pvp is so weak and not competitive (lack of pvp content, 2v2/3v3/5v5 etc.) that you can go for either armor first or weapon first with both having their pros and cons - if you can position yourself properly and pick your shots, you'll be fine with weapon in most scenarios because like it was said before, dead can't kill you and in this game pvp often comes down to 1-3shots before the fight is over.0

I keep hearing that the G16 sphere hits harder than the R9 sphere.. if this is true.. then i would suggest going with it and solving all your problems right there.0

Im not sure about that... Ive been against enough g16 weps and it just seems to me like that +40 atk lvls these g16s have on their weps is more like +20 atk lvls...[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]0 -
