Need help with quest "Collect Evil Blood"

Can anyone help me with this quest. I'm not sure what I'm supposed to do, the desciption doesn't help much. It's a sub quest for "The Blood of Wraith" given by Elder Huo (538 417) in Whetstone Keep.

The Blood of Wraith: "The only way to get Wraith blood is by going to the Wraithgate and fighting them. When wraiths use their blood magic, you can take their blood. After that, you should run."
Collect Evil Blood: "The only way to get Vicious Devourer's blood is going to the gate of wraith and fight against them. When you will get the blood of them, just retreat."

What am I supposed to kill here? I have killed a few mobs around Wraithgate, killed Vicious Devourer and so far nothing happens.

    There is a boss behind the wraith gate named Vicious Devourer. You attack him solo and after awhile you will get the blood drop.. You deff don't have to kill him.

    Later you will get a soul eater item that will take away most of his life when fighting him...

    As the quest text said, once you turn into a frog retreat. Don't kill devourer the first time, just run away. You're taking some of his blood back to awaken the artifact that way you can go back use it's power to destroy him on your own.

    Thanks, it worked! Feel silly now, I was using my pet before, so that's why it was not working.

    Don't feel bad, I had to search the forum just for this particular information. I was also using my pet to kill Vicious Devourer and it was taking forever. I gave up on that.
