Just looking at re stating and wondered if anyone has tried pure str build or str fit hybrid or str dex hybrid builds.

Thoughts please :D

    a pure str build is really good tbh, your dmg can get a powerfull boost, and your phys defence will put away those aps DDs trying to lacerate your flesh, but there's a big price to pay, which is the high lack of hp, which can be covered by the use of vit stones on gear and high refines. particularly, im a str/dex barb, got 160 dex, and rest in str, (3 vit base) and still i have 32k hp in tiger form, and i love how my high dmg get even higher with criticals.

    so my advice for you is: go for str build IF u can afford vit shards, else, keep your normal build.

    Pure str build ive used alot Its high dmg grat p def Altho the way they changed our devour skill to reflect ur max hp for aggro i recomend either very high refines or some vit seems around 20k allows u to hold aggro over most the aps Toons. Very fun for PVP Coupled with stuns is brutal.b:laugh

    I'm thinking about trying this build, pure str: http://pwcalc.com/d7f85ee10f5a2ae0 from my current build of: http://pwcalc.com/30680a0972393d18 the loss of 8k hp 1.2k magic defense seems too much though for the 6k physical attack .
    It's a game and I'm proud to be a stupid fail demon barb!
    My EPIC Fail Demon Barb has 40k/48k HP and my stat points are as follows:
    VIT 552 STR 310 DEX 60! b:surrender

    Here's my endgame aps/strength goal for my barb. Its a 542 str 5 aps build, 29k hp. Its similar to my BMs build but will be more pieces of R9 because barb's get -.15 more int in their r9, but will share a few pieces. My Bm will have to settle for G16, have less strength, but have more mdef from the G16 pieces.

    While in tiger form or pk I'll use the r9 wrist and boots, but while apsing I'll swap to the TT99 I already have since they're +10 DoT sharded. That'll make me 5 aps and give me 8 more attack levels.
    Seven 100+ characters leveled the hard way. Free to play. Mystic, Psychic, and Wizard left to level. b:victory

    about 40% more damage for 20% less physical damage taking and about 26% less magic damage. sounds like a good trade to me, espescially at such a high HP levels.

    Its kinda like choosing between 40 attack levels or 25 defence levels. (with the exceptiion of armageddon damage.....)

    A chunk of that can be made up in G16 cape and helm, but its a long way back to +12.

    For steelstars plan: How about full first recast.

    Mdef adds, HP bonus on chest, 2 crit on the set and 10 attack on the axe. Plus transfers all refines and shards.

    Its all I do though, mob half of SoT and Arma and repeat.

    So been doing some testing of private server :O Stated at 100 Dex, 100 Vit and rest into str with r9s3 +12 full JoSD vs 300 str 60 Dex (Including bonus's from gear) and rest in vit with r9s3 +12 full JoSD.

    Damage wise... Full str gives a good 20-30% extra damage vs other r9s3 +12 JoSD Characters and the extra pdef from str really is a bonus against silly aps sins.

    BUT if found arma takes a bit of a back seat and you are more skill spamming and using arma to tick charms.

    That said I noticed a 10-20% increase in incoming damage from AA classes and with less HP it becomes noticable.

    Talked to a few other pure str barbs and they said they would never go back due to the massive spike damage that can come from pure str build.

    Personally in-game I could never afford +12 full Josd... Maybe r9 s3 lol so personally I favour my current build which is 400str, 60dex and rest into vit. Gives me good survivability and enough damage output to be competitive.

    Get a pair of golden soulgems on weapon. Despite the lower damage it should help a lot with hitting sins and archers.

    It all depends on your gameplay op....some barbs will say pure vit is best cause we get most hp per vit i think its 18 hp per vit? And also benefits arma..and some will hybird with str for req vit req and rest dex for aps and crit, again its all in what you want i find aps isnt good unless ur a beast +12 and partly r9 but the barbs that go dex are there main/farming char alot of barbs just roll a sin to farm, and this one is my fav and suits me for my playstyle since i love pvp i went vit/str and capped dex at 80 i have around 500 str and luke 200 vit atm...i think prolly off a bit..but when im finished i would like more str..arpund 700 hopfully...hope this helps

    Made me lol, I made a +10 GOF/5.0 sin to "farm" and now that nirvana is dead, the barb is more fun in TT. SoT/Aba is same, barb is the most fun! Sadly my sin was a waste of time until some new farmable instance comes along.
