Why isn't the updater working?

I been trying to update for an hour now b:cold Keeps doing the auto restart thing. b:scorn Anyone else having this prob? b:irritated

    I think the auto updater is broken *insert fake surprised look here* I went to the download tab, scrolled down a bit and found the patch links, dl'd from there. Just make sure you DON'T have the element client start button thingy going or it wont work b:beatup Close everything out except for the PWI website and click on one of the patch dowloads. Took me 14 seconds and Im done b:avoid

    I keep getting the error message "Update listed files error." I still can't log in. My firewall is already shut off, what else can I do? b:cry

    It's been a long time since I've logged in. I have game version 641. Having already DL the latest patch 676-687 I can not seem to use it until I DL patches 642-675. Already visited http://pwi-forum.perfectworld.com/showthread.php?t=87242 But it only contains up to 641 as far as i can tell. b:sad my auto update is freezing, probably because there so much to update. also disabled fire wall and avg so that's not it.

    hello.. im having trouble updating.. it says "preparing to update", and the download bar is insane, blinking and stuff.. says i have version 670.

    I hear rumors of people manually updating the game, and to that I say.. what the heck? On the list of patches, there are so many.. how do I know which one too choose?

    One small problem with that patch I just ran into. It's the wrong version, should be 684-687. I've been playing with version 686 just fine, but just tried to patch and new patch is 687-689 which gives the "Update listed files error." Running the auto updater got it to 687 allowing me to install new patch.

    If you have 670 then download 670-676, install then 676-687.

    The auto-patcher is just going around in circles - doing the Verifying a few times then it would Retry once more so I'm going to try to do the manual patch of 684-687 even though my game has been updated up to 686 just to see if it works then use the patch of 687-689. Just hope it works as I want to log in as much as the next person.I'll update as soon as I finish this trial. Here's hoping!!!! b:surrender

    b:cry i tried the 684-687 it said file corrupted ..grrrr and the auto-patcher keeps retrying on one file after another. Why couldnt you guys just given us a mini-patch THEN the actual patch. I use the manny patch because of the auto-patcher messing up on me constantly! Now I'm screwed because I'm having so much trouble with the patcher. Thanks alot. b:angry

    Start with the version you currently have, use some common sense, and follow the number path that uses the fewest downloads.

    We're experiencing a problem with our Content Delivery Network (CDN). They're the people who host our auto patch files, which is the cause of your problems.

    We do sincerely apologize for this and we're working as fast as possible to resolve the issue. Unfortunately, the cause for this issue is on our CDN partner's end, and we're not able to directly troubleshoot the issue ourselves. We'll keep you up to date on this problem as it resolves.

    In the meantime, please head over to our downloads section (http://pwi.perfectworld.com/download) and update your clients using the manual patches. The other posters in this thread have generously posted steps on how to go about doing so, so I will leave that to them.

    MANUAL PATCHES WON'T WORK! My game version is 687 and I can't get the patches to work. I downloaded both of them and I'm still not getting anything. I hope they get this problem fixed tomorrow.

    Is your game files added in ur security/anti-virus/firewall exception list? I downloaded the manual patch and then installed them works like a charm for me .

    Then you are not running the client as administrator and/or have not configured your antivirus to ignore the client, or are doing something else wrong.

    Why don't you state what your OS is, what specifically you have done, and are doing, in intricate detail, and I can tell you all the steps you've missed.

    Hello, I'm new to this site/game. I just downloaded PW and it seems that it is constantly for the last hour "sorting patch files" It says something like Version 689 I think? Can someone please help me out. Again I'm new and trying this game for the first time.

    There's several discussions on this already. For the most part, you probably didn't read the instructions about your security software on the download page.

    If that isn't it, then I'll need more information. You know, stuff like what you've done so far, what the error or problem is specifically, and details on your system or software. (That is a hyperlink I posted up there, click it and read. (there are hyperlinks over there too, I suggest you click them as well.))
