b:laugh Wanna know how many people actually use hotkeys more than clicking. all the "pro's are button smashers b:laugh

    In my right hand i have 6 buttons on my mouse that i use for macros, healing, mana, and jumping.

    In my left is an xbox 360 controller that i use for genie skills, secondary macros, and whatever else helps.

    wasd for movement- Mouse for camera
    1 - 6 for pots/ Genie
    f1 - f4 for skills though i click on the other areas.
    - when i drop into Tiger mode. i press 'v' and it cycles to all my barb skills

    Both to be honest o_o I tend to use hotkeys for attacks and clicks for everything else.

    both, since i can only play the game one-handed (i have a disability that means i cant use my right hand properly) so i use mouse to move. (wasd for traps though) 1-9 for humanoid skills, press v and all my tiger skills replace, f's have essentials like pots, mounts and non combat stuff, i press ', then all my buffs and crab meats etc, go there.

    I used clicking for camera / target NPC / harvest, rest keyboard.
    WTB PWI 2008 where people were thinking more about doing good rather than pretending to be.

    Not only hot keyed, but also i keep those hot keys on my gaming mouse, much more fasterer.

    f1-f4 are my main skills I use 80% of the time like auto-attack, sprint, stun, self heal. For my cleric its IH, wellspring, purify and... something else. A habit from pk is putting f3 as drop pickup for grabbing drops before other people, but I think they patched that to be less of an issue now.

    1 and 2 hotkeys are my "oh sht!" keys. For BM thats my leap backs. For cleric its plume shell and holy path. These I can hit immediately with my pinky finger even while hitting my main skills with 3 other fingers.

    8 and 9 are my mp and hp pots. Just always have been

    This way my left hand does about 82% of my skills with hotkey pushing. My triple spark is always done by click, simply because its a big chi skill. But I use all my skills, so I have about 20 skills that are clicked. Aoes are usually in a line on my top row for zhenning. Triple spark too. Buffs are usually middle row since I want them but they're never emergent.


    Answer: Both. If I'm w,a,s,d-ing I'm clicking my skills. If I'm f1-4+1-2 hotkeys I'm running using my mouse. Different situations call for different techniques.

    keys for the things that need to happen fast.

    1-3 = different mana and HP pots
    4-8 = alchemist pots

    Fkeys are skills for single targetting skills and includes the essentials like invoke and roar.

    The second and third row of number keys has sitting, flying, buffing etc that i click.
    The second row of F keys has the aoe skills that i click usually. sometimes when i am doing aoe all the time i might swich this to be my primary row, but it confuses me and i mostly still click them anyways when i do that.

    The genie skills i havent hotkeyed and i should since those are often the most urgent ones when needed and i have to click them on the other side of the screen. Tough to change habbits though...

    Is there anyone who consistently uses the keys to swich button rows rather than just clicking the second and third row ?

    Man, tell me about it. That's why i started using the xbox controller as well as my mouse.

    It saves a few mouse clicks.

    Pretty much pure clicker, with my left hand on tab, 2, 4 and spacebar. Because that's the keys my clerics quick heals are on :p

    Both, skills are organized well in fx hotkeys in all rows. Numbers are mainly for potions and moving, Number slots are expanded for mouse clicks. Mouse skills/items are mainly morai skills, seal of god and apos for PK and i used to have different gears for damage and for tanking but now they are all the same.

    I mainly move with mouse but sometimes I got to use WASD and fly mode is in hotkey of course for PK

    left hand on click to move.. then i made a nice set of macros (press keys for that) to buff mass buff auto atack auto heal mayself b:surrender b:chuckle .

    F1 -9 for skills

    1 - also for some skill - pots

    F1-F9 for heals/buffs. 1-9 for primary attack skills. Other skills I use I just click since I have all the hotkey bars up at once.

    Mostly keyboard for moving and skills. I click for secondary skills or things I don't use often. My keyboard is split ergonomically so I use that as the basis for some of the split.

    1~Mana pot
    2~HP pot
    3~pickup
    4~Fly
    5~Fox Form
    6~Heal pet
    7~Amp
    8~Bramble
    9~Lending Hand

    F1-F5~Primary attacks
    F6~Natures Grace
    F7~Pacacitic Nova
    F8~Frost Scarab (because it's way away from the left hand where the primary attacks is and I rarely use that skill anyhow.)

    my mouse gets used mostly for looking around or to click a destination so I can type while I move.

    Mix. Use keyboard for movement usually, skills with BM requires a mix due to the weapon swapping which also constantly changes which skills are able to be used. The important ones I keep accessible to be used with the 20 button mouse, and also use the keyboard function keys and numbers. So everything.

    I can't vote here because I'm a hybrid. Seeing as I play the best on a laptop without a mouse, both hands are always in reach of trackpad and keyboards so i can do both. It is also what allows me to type so incredibly fastb:laugh

    I hybrid. I use 1-9 for attacks and F1-F8 for pots and miscellaneous stuff like flying and whatnot. I also have all my bars showing at the same time so i click on what is not on the hotkeys :D I also use wasd for movement.

    I have the numberkeys on the skills that when they're pressed, they better be used immediatily gdi D:< but I don't use too many of the Fkeys 'cept for the first four, since they're easy to get lost on/I'd get my paws smashed in the middle of the desk's pullout keyboard surface thing for the later ones. So I'll use the 1-8 keys +i is on the number bar since 3 is pet attack, and F1-F4 keys (occasionally switching which skills are on the F2 or F3 keys since that's where spammable attacks go) and click the rest of them since while they can all be on the skillbars, they can't all be on hotkeys.. and cycling feels terribily sloppy for some reason.

    Like many I can't really vote on the poll since there isn't a both option. x3

    You're using a controller? I read else where on the forum that controllers don't work for PW. I have a controller for my computer that I would love to be able to use to play. I have partial numbness in one hand and it can make playing difficult sometimes, but I can use controllers very easily. Can you use the controller for everything, like walking and selecting mobs/players, or just certain things. Please let me know, it would be a great help. b:thanks

    I'm kind of the same on Ted, but a bit different.

    I have a couple of different setups but the one I use most often (because it's just how I set them as I learned them way back when) is :

    F1 - WT
    F2 - GC
    F3 - Plume Shot
    F4 - Wellspring
    F5 - IH
    F6 - SoR
    F7 - Purify
    F8 - WoP

    1 - Silent Seal
    2- Pickup b:victory
    3 - Spirit's Gift (For building chi when bored without using MP, or if I am standing around waiting for someone and need to regen MP)
    4 - Razor Feathers
    5 - Siren's Kiss
    6 - Chromatic Seal
    7 - Dimensional Seal

    Everything else is open and clickable

    No - it doesn't have a pattern and I have been lazy about it, but I got so used to it early on that I just can't break from it except for special circumstances. In NW and the like, Plume Shell replaces SoR, sage spark replaces pickup, that sort of thing.

    Long story short, I'm too lazy to set my keys up so they make sense.
