veno for NW

As you can see I'm bm I have come to the understanding that I suck in Nw. Pretty much get owned by all the ranged classes.
Don't get bothered much by sins, barbs, seekers, or other bms though Even at +10 my axes just don't seem to kill people and my +12 claws aren't getting close when those darned op wizzy/psy/archers drop my 16k life in like 1-2 hits:(
I do have a full set of Arcane Lunar g16 armor though and I could make a lunar g16 weapon-idk maybe a glaive? I also Have a sage cleric and a demon veno alt. I was leaning towards the demon vneo because i'm thinking with g16 armor and +6 all refines my bramble will probably make me moderately sin proof. Up to now my veno had only been a bramble alt. My question is do you think with g16 the two aoes along with venom an iron would be strong enough to kill more people than a bms axe? Also which pet would be best? still a phoenix?
Or would a sage cleric have more offense power?
My main purpose would be to do nation wars.

Veno is a pretty decent and well balanced PvP class. However, it is also tricky to use, and I'm sorrry to say if you're not cutting it with BM (which is as good if not better at PvP than veno) then chances are this is not the best choice for you. I'm sorry to come out and say it, but if you want to get some PvP kills with minimal skill then sin is probably the right class. My advice would be for you to go back and work on your BM, you've got speed and the ability to truly stun-lock your oponents, not to mention Alter Marrow and some of the best crowd control available. Get Reel In and Reckless Rush if you haven't gotten them already, and get a PvP genie with Balance on it. Get a plat charm and some apos (IG, vacuity powder, damage reduction with autopot,) and most important of all PRACTICE. Go to the BM forums and look for threads in there on how to deal with ranged classes. In objective terms this really is a better shot for you to make some decent NW contri than switching to veno.
Yes, a sage Cleric also makes for a very decent PvP choice if you've got one, but likely it will be even worse in terms of difficulty. If you want to make char just for NW then Archer and Barbie would be the top two choices, a bit more straightforward to play than BM or Veno but do require much more of a tactical approach. I can certainly understand getting frustrated playing a certain class, and you may just want to be done with it and start over as something different, but the choice shouldn't come down to what's more effective, especially if you're quitting a fairly decent PvP class because you can't make it work, but what's better suited to your style of play. And again, I apologize for being brutally honest, you may have to consider the posibility ganking lowbies out of stealth may be your best shot at getting contribution...0 -
Was just hopeing a veno had decent kill power since thier aoe and thier attacks are magical. Also considering that unlike a bm who has to splitt str and dex they can concentrate on all magic along with the fact that it seems the majority of players are set up for pysical def the most.
By anything NOn magical of course my bm is pretty tanky- all g16 heavy armor 4 socket With full vit stones all atleast +7 and all skills are demon, but realistically I can set there and hit on someone along time without doing much dmg even with +10 recast 8 axes with spirit blackhole on them.
My husband plays a r9 wizzy of course and completely pawns or his r9 sin. While I don't expect to do as well, I just want to have some kill power so players don't just sit there and ignore me.0 -
If your main purpose is to do NW I'll agree with Manray.
Venomancers are mostly support (Purge, Bewitch, Chi Burn, Amplify, Myriads etc.) and whilst they can take down classes fairly well, once purged especially, it's probably not the best choice for you.
If it's specifically for NW a Barbarian (or possibly a Seeker) can do extremely well in NW. Tanking damage alone will give you points and you can run the Flag as well. If you're leaning towards the killing side mostly Archer, Wizard or Psychic are the top choices.
Clerics, Venomancers and Mystics can do great in NW but require some more work and highly depend on teamwork and cooperation (unless they are super geared so it doesn't matter XD). Maybe Blademasters fall into the same category but I don't have knowledge on that so I could be wrong.
As for Assassins, I have no clue really. It's the class I fear the least but that's probably because most simply suicide on my Bramble.
However, since you already have alts you could probably try them out in NW and see how well you do with both and then decide unless leveling a new toon is not much work for you.[SIGPIC]http://i.imgur.com/MtwcqjL.png[/SIGPIC]

I concur with Manray and Desdi.
Venos can kill people, and do decently, but for a veno is harder to kill than for others classes.
Venos have a pet to control and maintain; a set of skills to reduce damage; skills to become immune to any movement impairing skill; skills to weaken their foes; and regular dd skills. A good veno needs to know when to use every skill, because most skills are situational.
If you want something to kill faster and easier you need to roll a dd class. The choices are wizard, psychic, archer, and sin. I don't know much about earthguard classes, but I think seekers are a good choice too. Nevertheless, the first 5 classes I mentioned earlier are the best to kill people.0
