Soul Shatter compared to Spirit Blackhole

Ok, I've looked all over, but i can't find a confident answer anywhere.

I have a g16+10 bow, and there is no way I will be going r9, so don't even bother to mention that.

My question is, what is the proc rate of soul shatter (purge) compared to spirit blackhole (adv purge). Please no speculations like "oh i think it is___ " or "someone told me it was ____". Looking for accurate answers, maybe if someone has gained the server knowledge from a source, or has done an experiment on average procs per # of attacks for either of the weapons.

Some people claim it is different mattering on weapon. Here are the weapons.
Abomination of Dragons: Ex
or Bow of the DemonHunter: Eon

I would either take purge on the vana or adv purge on the r8r
My g16 bow hits hard, but sometimes a purge is needed, pvp and pve.
Currently, the r8r bow costs 400 supply tokens, and a manu fee of around 33m (supply token charge and manu fee), but it also hits harder, higher chance of blackhole, and has higher chances of getting better add ons, along with a 3rd random add on, as opposed to the vana's 2 ad ons.
The g15 bow however costs only 250 supply tokens, and has almost no manu fee if i base it off of a tt 99 dragonbow:nameless.
The 150 supply token difference will end up being 33m of more profit, making the r8r cost approximately 66m more with current prices. The 250 tokens would take 2 nation wars for me to farm with good luck, 3 with bad, while the 400 for r8r would take 3 with good luck, and up to 5 with bad.

I would like to know the proc rates of purge and adv purge first mainly, and then other people's opinions as to which i should get. Please do not say R9, that is not an option.

If the whole point is for you to purge then just go r8r
If you already have a t3 now and you really can't get by with just that perhaps you should make it a long term goal to get r9. Idk why so many people have such a problem with farming the coin and now it's faster than ever. Sure it will take you like 8 weeks but so what.
Don't depend on the purge proc. I mean even with spirit blackhole the chance of it going off is only like 8%.
It's not something like gof or purify where it procs often enough for it to actually be worth switching to your r8r weapon and sacrificing 40 attack levels and g16 damage just to kill whatever you're trying to kill.
I mean it could be nice for pve maybe but at the end of the day if you have to rely on purge to kill something just go hit something else..

I mean what exactly are you trying to get purge for?
Is it for pvp or pve
If its pvp then what class and build are you having trouble with ?

At the end of the day this is all just my opinion and someone else could come along and say everything I'm saying is just a load of ****..
But if you refuse to go for the best offensive option, there is no easy way of you being able to kill people with the most defensive builds I mean there is only so much damage you can ever do. You're not a wizard that can just drop a crit and 1 shot pretty much anything. There is always going to be some classes you just have difficulties killing.

ATM I'm stuck on seeker (like in sure a whole load of other people are..)
If I can't kill one then I just run away and go after something else lol..
I mean if something is full josd it's supposed to get ganked

At least you won't be sacrificing too much damage and every now and again it will proc more often than the t2 bow when you need it to.

But to answer your question r8r>t2 nirvana
At least you won't be sacrificing too much damage and every now and again it will proc more often than the t2 bow when you need it to.

Im quite aware that r8r is better then g15 nirvana. It is about the time to achieve and price of it. I do not want r9 as my g16 is already +10 and hits harder then r9 +11, when i also have full g16 armor. The purge bow is for pve and pvp when i want to purge for fun or for full buffed barbs/seekers whom have way too much defense to take out normally full buffed.
As the first g16 ranged weapon owner in sancutary server, and from what i have heard, 3rd in pwi, i also have no desire to stop using it to give up bragging rightsb:laugh

Im not a cash shopper, and dont have a single aps toon, so there is no way i can farm full r9 in 8 weeks, nor do i desire to.

I will not be going r999 for 3 reasons. One, im f2p, and have other gear goals, two, its ugly, really ugly, and three, i like being unique.
However i might go r10 if they ever make it, if it isn't completely ugly. Stupid recasted oht bow = r999

I'm pretty sure purge procs don't change with the weapon. You also shouldn't sorry too much about soul shatter vs. spirit blackhole, spirit blackhole is like 1-2% more likely to proc than soul shatter. If this bow you want to make is just for a quick purge, i think g15 would be easier to make, not to mention cheaper. And I wish I had a t3 +10 bow q.q all i got is a g15 with 20 atk levels. Anyways that's just my 2 cents, feel free to correct me if I messed anything up. b:victory

I told you get r8r and spirit black hole is about 8%. It could be 6 or 7 but the fact is its higher than soul shatter..

A proc is a proc. The same proc will activate the same rate on a bow VS an xbow VS a poleblade.
Situational backup you're not going to use except to (try to) purge occasionally? Get a tt99 xbow, the lunar bow, or g13 and dont waste coin rerolling for a proc on a weapon thats going to be 'situational' and not used for real attacking. Like how BM's had the purge pole, unrefined, for use on the 2nd Nirvana boss.

right now a lunar bow or tt 99 xbow costs almost as much as a vana g15 bow tt based. It will be used for real attacking.

I might get r9, weapon and ring only, after i get cube necklace, new rings, everything +10. The ring itself currently costs like 250m on sanctuary server, along with the weapon being at least another 400m, and the summerwinds being another 500m. I dont see the importance of doing that currently, when my bow hits hard enough but i lack defense.

The g16 vana is unique to me for being the first one on Sanctuary server, i want it to be my weapon for a long time.

also facerolled, you have never seen me play, and honestly have no idea what i am capable of. When i said i did that, it was the absolute truth. If we played on the same server i would 1 v1 you and drop you just to prove a point, but honestly, its not even worth it. People raised on OP gear in upper class of game in the long run will lose to those who hadn't once gear becomes comparable again, because those who hadn't had to make do in the game without it for long periods of time, and therefore form mastery. There are exceptions to this, but for the majority of players who had the easy route, there isn't.

If pro gear =/= skill, why does lacking pro gear automatically = skill? I've never really understood that one.

Also, just get a cheap lunar sling and turn it into a g13 bow if you really want purge. Sure, it's not spirit blackhole, but it's cheaper than g15 + rerolling. As I mentioned in a related post in the GD, I have never heard of procs having different rates on different weapon types or grades.

lacking pro gear doesn't = skill, and pro gear also doesn't mean no skill. My point was just those without the overpowered gear for long periods of time have to adapt to situations harder then those with it. Many people with overpowered gear have skills too, and many people with horrible gear don't have skills. Myself however, having played for 4 years, always pvp'd but been stuck behind the pack with bad gear until recently, have been able to develop many adaptable strategys.

Also on Sanctuary, there are very few lunar slings, and would all be sold for around the price of 200 rapture crystals. Would be cheaper to make a tt based g15, which is what i have decided to do for purge bow

personally i wont go for 2nd bow cos would take too long to deal with 1 barb either nw or tw or smth while u try to kill him u can kill 20 others around him instead.. also even if u purge him its a good question if you would manage to kill him..
good advice to run away there ;P or just ignore cos barbs cant catch archer either if pay attention.. cant 1vs1 barb anyway with their class skills and genie skills and apos and charms and so on

and just saw the above video is it true that the only way for purge to work is autoatacking with normal attack O,o if u cant use skills to purge whats the point of it in general

useful only on very rare circumstances having 7 or 8% sucess rate bah good i dont have r9 ;P was only purged myself once.. ofc i was killed but i get killed either way so ;D and rr9 bow is 25 att lvls better and 25 att lvls is A LOT but i agree g16 is cuter ^^

Actually, the best cheap purge bow is lunar bow due -int. It doesnt really do damage but in your situation I doubt that really matters. I myself wouldnt invest on bow thats only purpose is to purge, damage difference to G16+10 is simply too massive for justifying it outside few situations. And with that in mind, bow that "only purges", lunar bow is the best one out there discounting spirit blackhole proc, which is quite expensive. Oh and the sling that I wasnt even aware of before this thread.

But in your situation, with full G16 armors and the lack of -int, the spirit blackhole would be on it`s best compared to lunar bow. This is due how attack rate works, with slow attack rate the -int wont as much as it would if you had -int from armors, like the quite commonly seen -int build with archers. But I`d call spirit blackhole too expensive for what you seem to have in your mind, rerolling isnt free and N2 has quite stupid chance for it.

But if you want to maximise purge, you should consider rolling a sling, though I myself hate swapping bow to sling/sling to bow on my archer and the moment I hit 95 on him, I threw both sling and it`s ammo out of my inventory. To put it shortly, rerolling for spirit blackhole is unlikely worth it, you`ll end up wasting a lot of coin for it.

And chance to purge is so small that you shouldnt be using purge bow outside small set of situations when you got N3+10 bow. I really wouldnt pay as much attention to damage the purge bow gives as into the purge rate - The quicker target is purged, the quicker you can change to real bow again.

Ps. Rolled N2 TT bow few weeks ago and I gotta say it`s the prettiest bow Ive seen in the game so far.

Strip away the gears... there really isn't anything an archer has going on for him. Just cause you suddenly came in to a few dollars and manage to get not so crappy gear. You might have an easier time with kills... but the most you can really hope for is to be on even grounds with other archer of similar gear. While it might be fun to think yourself as better then others cause you were raised in the slums. Wake up and smell the arrow and know your own limitations. And as always... even with nirv 3rd stage... you are still playing second string to the real r9s.

I really wish right now i could get a server transfer to wipe the floor with you fools. Only 1 r9 archer has killed me 1 v1 in NW since i have had full g16, them being full +12 josd and a frequent poster on these forums. All others have been dropped by me in 1 v1 situations.

As I have said before, you have no idea what I am capable of and have no right to judge me. Second string? I've been playing longer then 95% of the "real r9s" and since even having 3 pieces of g16 I have been on equal footing with all but the highest elite geared. I stuck with a g16 bow that gave me an extra 700 hp, and that certainly helps stay alive, along with the extra defense. Even when purged by a +12 bow full r9 archer in the last NW on our first encounter, i proceeded to take him out another 3 times ending the battle with a perfect score of 20 kills and 0 deaths, with the #1 slot over the other r9s on my team, and the r9s on the other team. The superiority complex that many of you r9 players seem to have is revolting. Just because you cash shopped gear, or merchanted it taking expense of other players money, does not make you better. I have played on a friends full +10 r9 archer before, fighting tons of other r9s and only losing one fight in a 1 v1, to a barb, who landed a zerk arma. When I finish off my gear build on my g16 nirvana, i will easily be able to compete with the before mentioned elites who have the fully refined and sharded gear. My current gear is http://pwcalc.com/42be6476599c77f5 and I can hang with, and defeat all of the "superior r9 players" excluding those with full +12 on everything, and decently refined barbs, who honestly can't be taken out solo other then by wizards.
