So far about 150 players have spent a hour trying to find an open map just in this nation seen 270 players trapped in another nation your map NEEDS to be twice as big b:angryb:angryb:angryb:angry

    While i agree, this issue wont be solved.
    Also bigger nw map means longer travel times, they shoulve halve those too!

    Err, they already have a new map with plenty more territories in use in China. Just a matter of time before it gets ported here.

    It isn't entirely tactical if every nation has people that can't get into battles. I have been in the winning nation a few times and we had battles ringing the borders, some ours and some not, but every single one full. So while we weren't stuck at base, we were still standing around and sometimes for a very long time. On HT at least, we have far more people participating than the Wars seem to be meant for.

    That said, they are (have already on PWCN, from what I hear) adding lands so the OP, like the rest of us, just needs to be patient. And others don't need to be worried about the loss of this tactical advantage because, even with ten lands ringing the base, you would still be able to block a nation into that space if that's what you really wanted to do.

    honestly, +1 and -1, sure the tactical advantage is nice, but it also hurts people badly who need coins in cases. I've been noticing in recent NW's that when a nation gets base locked, it is by 2 different other nations coming in from each side. These 2 nations then war against eachother on the base locking land, making it impossible to get out of base. There needs to be a back exitb:laugh

    What if you dc and gets back to the base locked and 150 players there, trying to find a way to "scape" of that place?
    Thats not cool at all.

    btw if they double the map size and territories they can also just reduce the travel time, 15 seconds per territory, not 30.

    From the looks of the map, the size of the map was the same, they just broke up each land more. Let's say A1 becomes A1, A2 and a bit of A3, still takes the same time to reach any of them. If they truly increased the size itself, with longer travel times, well, you win some and lose some i guess b:sad.

    I hadn't looked at it like that. That would actually make a lot of sense.

    This opinion will probably last until you actually get base locked for an hour yourself, at which point you'll come on to the forums to rage like the rest of us.

    Base locks are rather frustrating. It doesn't matter if you're r9r +12 and play perfectly, your nation can still perform badly or get a few unlucky battles and next thing you're getting no points for the next hour. There's no point pretending there's "strategy" in nw, there's very little coordination except perhaps in individual squads, everyone else just does what they feel like.

    Then to whoever manage to get locked in base... have fun waiting for that 20 minute battle to end. Don't think I ever got land locked totaling more then 5 minutes per war... at a freaking lost how people manage to get themselves in to a **** hole.

    I would like to point out several things:

    1. To the guy that said that the ability to get base locked makes it hard for people to earn money.

    That is true, for people who get stuck in base. However those that got stuck in base and scored lower allow for other who did not get stuck to earn higher scores and earn more. The prize is the same regardless, it is the distribution of the prize that changes.

    2. Travel times have advantages that some of you aren't seeing or taking advantage of.

    By sending even 1 player to attack a land, you start a battle there perhaps protecting your own land by method of blockade or maybe even just delaying them so they have to walk around. You can also do this to make it harder for your enemy to get to other lands of their own, and you can try to win quickly. ie. you can take land before the big bad +12 105 r9 baddies that apparently only your opposing nations have b:shutup gets there.

    3. Larger map won't stop you from getting base locked.

    More lands surrounding your base would. Not losing would. If you think about it, you're complaining about entirely the wrong things. travel times, base locking, blocked paths, these things all give the advantage to the lesser geared player. If you can't win in head to head equal numbers pvp then what you can do is restrict the lands your enemy can attack so that the swarm of lesser geared and easy to kill players from opposing nations get inside the battle. You can also cut lines across enemy territory so that they have to fight for those lands or walk around while lesser geared players steal all the free land they can't defend.

    I am in a +6 mix of NV and r8 recast gear. My hp is just below 10k and frankly if that is considered higher than average to you than you need to go work on your toon. At this point I consider myself below average, at least on Lost City. My squad wins almost every battle we enter, regardless of r9 +12 opposition or being outnumbered, and we do this with strategy.


    Here are some tips folks:
    Get a regular squad, and get in vent/team speak/whatever chat program.

    Whenever flag is being reset, make sure at least one of you is AT every single spawn point. Sins are usually a good idea for spying on the middle where most the pvp is.

    When flag spawns, call out where it is and everyone run there. Don't stop and fight, avoid pvp as best you can until you're with the flag carrier. That is what is most important.

    Even if you can't kill your enemies, take advantage of your control skills. Aside from a couple choice OP mag weapons and one class's annoying buff. R9s can still be stunned/sealed/slept/frozen/slowed/turned into animals/made unable to fly/disarmed/etc
    Your control skills are how you stop someone from digging the flag, and how you prevent people you can't kill from killing you.

    There are 2 pots you need to have every nation war; Iron Guards and Charger Orbs. If you get the flag, you charger orb your *** straight to the damn base, run like a mad man. Speed is the name of the game in NW. If you are having trouble digging the flag? Antistun, Iron Guard, and then Dig. Even if you die immediately, you getting the flag earns you a point and also prevents your enemies from earning one.

    Archers: They can speed buff and antistun you. Archers are sexy. Make archer friends.

    Remember that PvP is secondary, and if you follow the flag carrier like you are supposed to, the pvp will come to you. Not only that, but you will have support around you when it does come.

    There is nothing wrong with not letting others (better geared) open up the path. Then again... there is also nothing wrong with sitting in base for an extra 20 minutes looking at a fail defend. I had +10 r9 veno letting me carry the flag (even though she got there before I even had enter the pit) because I am faster. There were a few interceptors along the way, too bad none of them can land a fatal hit or even slow me down. A good way to send 20 people back base for 3 minutes on the first land with a 4v20 attack. Although... speaking from hindsight... I (we) could or even should drag the fight out longer.

    I've said it before and I'll say it again.. Change the time for NW to like 5 hour earlier and this is no longer a problem :)

    NW is currently placed at the time when server population is at it's highest. So yes, less people would get base locked because less people would be able to even attend. b:bye

    I already shared my opinion in some other thread that I feel somewhat sorry for the ppl who has to suffer this sht. However, I still see this as a tactical move and If I suffer this myself I have no one to blame than myself since I could've probably done better to win the previous battle or cancel my trip to a filled battle to prevent myself to be sent back to base. So nope, I won't rage because some nation did successfully base-lock me.

    I'm starting to like the new map. At first, I was worried there would be too many pieces but after having been to more NW, it doesn't. If I have to guess, its close to perfect.

    I don't hope that we get a larger map but I'm afraid we can't avoid it because china got the update too. I'd rather wish different looks of battlefields. On LC server we have already many 3 vs 3 fights which don't make alot of sense (it's all just about luck, where the flag spawns, you can't organize any defense and so on).

    At least on LC server locking hundreds of toons in base seems not that big problem anymore, because ppl learned that they have to spread out as long as the can to other lands, even if there is no battle atm. Till now I was 4x in worst and 2nd worst nation and never got stuck in base for more than 5mins.


    I'm afraid that even less ppl will join nw in future, because the (indirect) price of supply tokens might settle down at ~150-200k each. So many ppl won't stand up for the game in middle of the night/ early morning anymore (for nw you need charms and without charm sales and ~2m coins per gold in future nw becomes less attractive for the F2Per).



    Btw I read several times in forum that nw is imba because of r9/r9 3rd cast squads. That's not true imo. I saw every kind of toon/op squad in worst and best nations, unlike TW you can't predict from start which side will win. It has alot to do with luck (respawn of flag is random) and swarm intelligence (which is random too).


    I also hope that we don't get less rewards (less supply tokens, or more likely, higher fees at forges) in future. But tbh I expect this, because it's pwi... they always let the extreme CSers get everything abit cheaper/faster to let alot of ppl become jealous and spend alot of money to get it too. If you plan to get e.g. ws mats, I would recommand to buy them soon... (e.g. for ws necklaces). Things might change with new map patch...
