Does PWI work in China?

Hi,

I might be going to China for a vacation soon and wanted to find out if PWI will work in China?

    Chinas got their own PW version, pretty sure you will get auto banned logging in from there.

    Really? I thought only the registration is barred from banned regions, not actual login.

    I'm pretty sure I saw a thread on pwcn about them visiting and playing on pwi... It is annoying to play games over proxy, you know. b:surrender

    If you play PWI from China you get perma banned for it.

    Not sure why, but yea.
    Just getting ready for Christmas.

    This happened to me once, got banned and didn't even know what the hell happened. But due to the fact that I didn't know that I can't log in foreign countries, they unbanned me after explaination.

    But since you know now, don't risk it. And if you must play... play their vr while you are there.

    PWE is in America. The PW HQ is in china.



    Also, I think its really weird that we can't even talk much about PW-China here because they host a different version, even though they are the owners of the entire network lol.

    I based my expansion threads around pwcn and what they get for their expansions.
    It's fine talking about them. They are they mother version after all, most of what they get is eventually sent over here. Only certain parts are not activated in our version for whatever reason, like the server v server part of nw or JJ agent.

    The chinese pw that's different from our version is p2p pw, you're probably thinking of that one.

    I see. I thought it'd be the case with some of the other banned countries where you can still log in if you made an account before they added in the ban, but I guess not with the countries that were always banned.

    I suppose if I were to ever go back to China (the first time I went there was in the late 90's, it was still the "old" China), I'd probably go on my pwcn account. Not that I would waste a vacation on pw.... I found that if you're traveling to other countries you won't have time to even think about the internet.

    The server vs server will never work in our version until they change the name databases. We have some servers that share the database, and some that don't.

    Don't do it. I was in Changchun (NE china) and saw a bunch of guys playing PWCN at an internet cafe. I thought I'd try logging into PWI, but got banned just as fast. b:shocked I sent an email explaining the situation to the support people and they unbanned me, but yea this is my personal account.

    My rl friend went to japan like 3 years ago and logged into PW from the hotels wifi. He was in-game for about a minute and got banned for logging in to pw from that region. However it was only temporary as it is an honest mistake

    I think it depends on IP you are going to use. If some ppl from China who are registered here use the one which you get, nothing should happen. But if you get another one, unfamiliar to PWI system, and it determines it as chinese, bye b:bye
