Also, this is assuming Barbs take the flags (which in most battles, Barbs usually have it from my experience), but you can get that annoying time where squishies dig the flag and makes both sides go wtf....
Its really not hard to stall someone when they let the crappiest guy pick up the flag. I have lost count of how many carriers I one shotted. Last night I seem a flag carring sin aps me while I was killing a cleric... I got a kill and bramble got a kill.1. If I kill you; do something about it yourself, don't go complaining to my wife.
2. If you have less kill counts then me, don't expect me to take pk advice from you.
3. If you are hiding behind an alt, don't expect me to acknowledge your existence.

just a noob b:chuckle
enough to know that you don't actually make lines, but you are trying to "surround" opponent. ofc i think every1 gets idea of surrounding main base, but cutting off an area (like a corner of map) is like cutting slice o pie bigger slice doesnt necessarily req bigger cut, get a bigger slice (or don't cut it at all!)full r999 91% chan wizzy b:kiss

During last Sunday NW, I was in my BM.
In one battle, we got advantage like 20 vs 3, then the enemy barb shows up and we ended up in a hot kitty chase. Then we realized the other two enemy has carried the flag to their victory point. b:cry
Another tactic is, when enemy got the flag, I rush to the nearest intercept point, tries to stun the flag bearer, if its stunned, then I'll try to tank any damage from the flag escort as my team mates kills the flag carrier. I started to think we BM are the major pawn in NW. b:surrenderHeaven Tear

A lot depends on ur squad. Sometimes not all can get into ur instance, sometimes u get stuck with some random noobs, also sometimes ur enemy has a lot of fire power and u gotta use brain to win.
What happened to me last Sunday. My party went to attack 1 land held by Light Nation. Unfortunatelly as it often happens on LC not all could get in and instead of having 10 ppl in there from my squad we had 5. The other 15 were random. We were fighting 6 ppl which 3 of them are 3rd cast r9. We captured the flag and went ahead 10 points right at the beggining and then there was a lot of fights to dig the flag. The enemies were strong and they were killing lots of ppl from my nation. Finally they managed to dig the flag once but the guy carying the flag died near the water. So as a party we decided we change the strategy and since we gonna have troubles capturing the flag - we decided to just make the enemy unable to pick it, specially as they had 2 caster classes with purify on the weapon. So the plan was simple we were making sure we dig the flag each time - this way we were getting 1 point for each dig and even if the holder died the flag wouldnt reset for next 45 seconds so we were winning time. Me and the other barb in the squad got the flag together 6 times in a row using immune pots to dig, then having them chase us, till we died. Which didnt really matter, because at the end we had 19 points, they had 1 and we won
Some will say was 6 vs 20. Ofc it was, but was random ppl. They did very good in PK mode, but forgot what is the event about and got outsmarted. Was really cool to see the enemies get really frustrated over losing that battle and wasting 25 minutesBecause size really MATTERS!!!0 -
I have entered without a squad for the entire NW season (except for the first time) and I found that it really depends on the people who enter the land with you for a battle. At one point tonight, 8 of us were cut off from the rest of our nation and was simply attacking territories adjacent to Dark's base, thus stopping Dark from sending out reinforcements. And these battles were mostly 8 vs 20. Yet we won with ease mostly because of the teamwork and cooperation (even though we didn't know each other). For instance, I was trying to dig the flag, and was being targeted by the enemy. But a random cleric on our side (Hexemiyata) distracted them, buffed me, and healed me and we worked together and won the battle.
In another situation tonight, there were 3 of us versus 20 again, and we relied on each other and luck to win again, pretty simply too. I camped the west flag spawn point while bigknockers camped the east spawn point, and since the odds were in our favour, whoever got the flag simply ran like a madman and captured the flag while the enemy was derping around in the centre.
So I guess, the best way to win battles would just be to work together, that also means letting tanky/fast runners dig the flag, which means winning the battle faster which means moving to another battle faster which helps your nation more than (no offense) a squishy sin/archer or any class that can be dispatched easily by the enemy if they caught you in their sights. And attack lands near the enemy base to stop them from sending out reinforcements, and most importantly, know when to defend. Once a nation is in the lead, there is a point where their players should stop attacking, and start defending, because there is a limited amount of players in each nation, and the more lands a nation acquires, the more land they need to defend. So don't be too greedy and try to gain the whole map, because you're just going to cause the downfall of your own nation and allow the comeback of the other nations. b:laugh[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]

+1 I hate the selfish squishies slow classes taking the flag from the fastest playing against the same team :S0 -
Obviously if you look at the map printout you will come to the conclusion that there is some strategy in deciding which lands are a priority to take off the start.
A good example would be if you are a light nation, your 20 most op people should be trying to get to c8 and attack, which would allow you to take d9 next which would cloose off 3 additonal lands that the weaker squads could take without the other team being able to reinforce them.
If you were to start in the green lands for instance it would do the same thing if you took f8 and then split to attack f9 and e7.0 -
people really just need to use a bit more common sense.
avoiding things like 5+ people chasing ONE enemy player who is faster than all of em and able to tank them all too, meanwhile your side cant capture a flag because there isnt enough support.
slow pokes and squishies also REALLY need to STOP digging the flag. you're slow. you get killed in 1 hit. just stop. you're wasting everyone else's time.
then there are the players who, instead of fighting, spend most of the night chatting in various forms:
- mass QQ on world chat about spawn killing (which technically is not possible due to the 10 or so seconds of immunity we all get when we respawn. 10 seconds for your charm to heal you up, for you to buff yourself, or for you to run for support. if you cant manage to do any of that in 10 seconds, you deserve to be killed repeatedly until you are booted out of the instance so that someone more worthy can enter. and the 2nd point about SPAWN KILLING -- the spawn points are in the pathway that the enemy has to take to capture the flag. you spawn opposite of your capture point. it was designed that way to add to the challenge. killing people who are in the vicinity of the spawn points is necessary to aid in capturing the flag.)
- barking orders and warnings to their nation over world chat (this comes in a lot of forms, like orders to go after another nation, or defend the base, or general QQing about another nation who happens to be pwning the WCer's nation). alerting the other 3 nations that you're stuck in the base is a GREAT way to tell them to keep you guys stuck there.
- QQing about the tides of battle
AND MY FAVORITE
- idiots who type in local chat every time they are attacked. there's one person in particular on sanctuary who accomplishes absolutely nothing in NW because every time someone else lands a hit on this person he/she exclaims "***" in local chat, proceeded by "LOL" and other needless things, instead of fighting back or trying to escape. this same person then ends up mass QQing in world chat about how much his/her nation sucks.0
