i havent play pwi for a very long time now. im back for some fun so here i go to warsong and was told to defend wood. all the squads ive been in tells me to go to wood. the first 2 times i did great fact that the cleric was there to help me keep the head away, even got done early to go help other members. i have my own sin but i havent play for so long that i forget to use skills (so if theres a skill i need to use, tell me). ive been running warsong with my friend's sin though bc my sin is not strong enough.

so my question is, how to keep the head away without someone holding it off? i run up and down but having troubles still. i always fail if theres no cleric to hold off the head. how do you sins defend wood or other elements? thanks!
archer is awesome.

Use your disables and then keep a bit away from it.

IE: Tackling slash -> Kill a couple of mobs -> Deep sting -> Kill some more -> headhunt -> kill more -> repeat. That and kite it during the times where mobs aren't at you yet.

Tactic is heavily based on demon tackling slash proc(20s slow) but I find it by far simplest way to do it. And I really wouldnt waste chi on deep sting, let alone headhunt. Problem is mobs buff themselves(Antiaps buff/p.def buff) and you need chi to spark pretty much constantly so mobs wont stack up on you.

Wood in my opinion is the hardest pavilion to defend as a sin when compared with Earth and Water.

If you want to keep the head away, it's best to do it this way.

The problem is that if you don't have r9 daggers or daggers with +range, then you will get hit when tackling slashing them. If you are uncomfortable with that, then keep a rib strike debuff on it whenever you can.

If you don't have range on your dagger use Deep Sting first and it usually lands before the head can attack, then Tackling Slash. This is slightly backward with your cooldowns and may still need some kiting though, but works.

Another technique is kite the mobs themselves while kitting the head. Get about 3 of them together then take them out in 1 triple spark, then kite the head into another corner while you gather 3 mobs. The mobs are faster than the head and you should be able to kill all 3 before the head reaches you.

Also wanted to add don't aoe in wood, or really at all as a sin. You'll cause the mobs to say "lets die together" and explode, which really hurts. Best to kill them 1 at a time before they explode rather than take chunks of hp from each.

I've never tried water on my sin, but do it regularly on my bm. I'd say order of ease for my sin is Earth, Wood, Fire, Water, Metal. Earth requires high dps as you once the mob has about 40% some will start a countdown to blow up and you either run away or kill before it explodes. Sins have the best dps and most can easily ill before it explodes, even unsparked.

Yeah Wood mobs take off 90% of your max health when they explode, so even if you're damaged slightly, there's a high chance you'll die when you get hit by their explosion.

Earth is definitely the easiest pav imo. Simply because of the huge space.

Got an SA head a few times...simply knife and kite never even tried to stun the head. Its so easy to kite there.

Wood is really hard if you dont have decent DPS.

I've never done water, is there an anti aps buff?

Yes, but 90% of the time they won't activate it. At least, that's how it's been for me. Maybe it's because I kill them too quickly with 100k zerk crit auto attacks xD.

They have 0 p def, so increased def mobs aren't anything.

I think Earth and water is about the same but you have to watch out for the anti aps buff earth mobs do sometimes, to me thats more of a problem than them exploding.

Personally if i ever did that pavilion on my sin, i would follow the same logic as my bm. I use far strike on the head ever 20 seconds. I would use knife throw only. Only need to maintain agro. After that just run up and down. Depending on how mobs bunch up that is 3~6 mobs before you need to knife throw again.

i forget to use skills (so if theres a skill i need to use, tell me).
I would suggest learning the 100+ class you are trying to run through a 100+ instance. How can you be a level 100+ Assassin and not know you have a slew of control skills at your disposal?
This wasn't asking for tips or pointers.....this was asking how to play a class beyond sparking, hitting and running.

Another fun thing to do is to Deep Sting to Throatcut, and then RDS a mob or the head to gain the chi back.

I've never noticed anti aps buff in earth pav D:

I think i'm up to the challenge of water...especially since its 2x...again -___-

I like when the mobs explode i just HP and run away while there's 1 less mob to kill :D

Can't stress this enough but remember to keep deaden nerves up and save FM for when DN wears off or ticks.

*Cough* Sage DN is so nice as a backup plan for those "oh f**k" moments *cough*
