Are There Really PWI Bots?

So I went to dreamweaver in RT, and there two sins attacking Seaspray Bladewolves.

Description:
Randomly sparks.
Attack mobs that I would attack and say nothing.
I teased them by stealing their kills and no reply.
Use town teleport skill when they only 50m from dreamweaver.
They come back after town teleport.
They seem to lack of clothing.

I seen bots from other games and these act like them, but I try to wander the usefulness of these bots since DQ items are basically worth 1 coin.

Yes, not rampant like PWCN but there is some. If you see a bot, just submit a ticket.

You can also lure them to an untimely death with little trails of coins. One of the more fun ways to tell if they are really botting or not. Just make sure you send in a ticket on em when you confirm it.

Funny back in the early days of PW id spend hours grinding spider mobs up North. I'm sure a few times people thought i was a bot. I'd be listening to music and not respond to anyone because i was tiered. b:chuckle

Yeah; seen one up in sandsong sometimes - sitting there with a herc on defend. But what gives away that it's a bot, not afk, is the Heal-pet (30 s) heal pet (30s) heal pet.. (transfuse, natures grace) heal pet...

There's no way to do a macro sequence like that using the in-game macro system and they're incredibly consistent.

What's really sad is that someone is risking a lvl90 characer with herc, just for a few minutes worth of pet xp.

It's still a popular spot on RT for wizziebots. It's also pretty easy to tell who is a bot there and who isn't.

Don't bother to report bots. PWI don't ban them.

At best they will be banned for a few days, at worst they will get nothing.

I once reported a bot that was on the shieldbeared giants. A few days after my reports he was not there. (either he was banned, or more likely not playing at the time). A few days later he was back. Reported him again a few times and he was still there every day 2 weeks long.

Later I met the same bot now grinding on the basilisks in the desert area. Reported him like 10 times over a one month period. After a month he was still there.

Now I don't bother to report them, it's a waste of time. PWI do nothing against them. They find it easier to punish the legit players by reducing the sale value of items to 1 piece.
Frankieraye said : "we can promise that we will work to improve all facets of community, engineering, and customer service to ensure that something like this doesn't happen again."

(We are still waiting to see any improvements or changes beign implemented. More empty promises from PWI?)

ahhh the good old Bots...I miss the old PWI where GM's dont even care, hell i bet they still dont even care bots running in PWI >_> I mean they are harmless they dont do sht besides farming the same mobs all day hrs long unlike Raiderz where GMs are 100% useless to even go in the game to kill the bot spammers so i rather have these Bots in PWI than the one in Raiderz

Were you using the report player function, by chance?
If so, it is one of the most useless features that pwi has. It requires a gm to be on in game and actively paying attention to those reports, it's very easy for them to go unheard.
Better to send tickets if you want to go through that mess.

If you were sending tickets too well then there's nothing else you can do.

I think I saw one in NW. It was a sin flying in the air doing nothing. If you attacked it, it would use pots/apoth to heal itself but wouldn't attack back.

I do that while I'm reading a good book or watching a movie. Sometimes people whisper me and I don't notice because I'm just pressing heal pet every once in a while and looking elsewhere. I wonder if they think I'm a bot. Oops. Haha

Ive seen 2-3 people talk about their bots running currently in squad chat and faction chats. Sent in tickets about it with a screenshoot but pwi doesnt do anything about those players. So i think it is safe to assume that running bots are legal if you want to try it.

Most PWI players are full of **** and BS about everything. You can't really take something they say as evidence.

First time an in-game GM spoke to me was back in late 2008 or early 2009. I was trying out a young character (archer) and was grinding away on some mobs around Plume (like level 6 mobs or something) when I got a random pm saying "Hi there" with the GM initials in front of the message. It took me completely by surprise, and I had no idea why they were talking to me. It wasn't until a month later or so that I learned what bots were and finally came to realize why that GM had "poked" me.....to see if I was a bot. Too bad that sort of in-game monitoring no longer happens b:surrender

Oh, and the reason why I was grinding away at that time was because I was having fun experimenting with claws. I bet I was one of the first and only archers to use claws in the game at that time. I wish I could say that it was because of amazing predicting abilities to see the potential of claws when everyone else thought they were a joke, but the reality was, I had no idea what I was doing back then and just liked how I could make both my hands glow different colours at the same time while using them b:chuckle

It could be worse. Look at PWE's newest game and read their forums. Mass duping, note, speed hacks, gold sellers, etc. People are leaving it in droves at least until something is actually done. We have it easy.

Oh please, it's pretty darn easy. Nobody, not even a no-lifer grinder grinds in the same spot 24/7 for months (and I'm still counting time spent at same spots)

I'm a no-lifer with plenty of time to kill and have checked on several bots at different hours daily for months now. If that wasn't enough, KSing its mobs and stealing its drops for hours at a time without any change in its behavior is another good indicator. Good thing the drops are DQ81+, at least I make a llittle money stealing and selling their drops.

Sometimes I wonder about the people who get all defensive about bots.

LOL Yep, just a matter of time. Wonder when the DQ points system will be nerfed also since that will be the only DQ value left for the bots.

Well that being said, I had better quit wasting time here on the forums and get busy KSing and robbing bots while their DQ drops still have value.

I've seen a few bots in my time. Some that just pick up herbs, others collecting DQ up north. Though the most impressive one's I've seen we're flying just outside south arch, dropping and killing mobs. I killed them a few times, they just flew right back and repeated.

Oh, and DQ bots are fun. Me and some friends found 1 farming DQ up north (goothes) and made him go red. And after killing him a few times, he dropped his Deicides(+10). Lmfao
