Overhaul of recasted R9 textures

Lately S3R9 (or whatever your server calls it..R999, S3R9) have been put alot easier
to acchieve, and therefor more will run around in it. However...I'm very disappointed in
seeing that the gears are just straight out copies of already existing textures.

As you all can see, very few of them are original. The sin daggers are also, I believe
statedly known to have a texture missing (credit to Asterelle for finding out in
another thread), showing them to some as white/black only.
The other weapons are either a texture copy of r8 recast ones or morai g12 or g15.

I find this cheap by the company itself in lack of other words and a disappointment when
it comes to original gear design. Therefor I'd like to suggest a texture overhaul on these
weapons and gears, or atleast upcoming ones that they'll make...
stop using old textures and atleast make sure the textures work!b:sad

I don't think I'm the only one out there who would like to wear something that is not
clearly a cloned old gear piece with new stats thrown on it, like the old TT90/r8 debate..
they still seem to cheapshot us on the designs. What do you guys think?
And inb4 'armours arnt made to look pretty'. I get that armours arn't meant to be the
new fashion..but it doesn't hurt if they look decent or original as we're forced to look
at them (the weps mainly), specially if we've spent so much in effort to obtain them.

    Agreed. R9.3 looks too ugly.


    If you put a car into the game, let it look atleast decent.

    Well, armor is pretty ok, but same as morai, but weapon is sooo ugly..

    It was highly disappointing to see that my barbs3rd cast looked like sh*t. 1st and 2nd cast look bad a**(both look the same). Then I see the 3rd cast and it looks like the Morai weapon. It makes me not want to 3rd cast. They didn't even really put a glow on it. It looks like a cheap npc dropped weapon. This may actually be the reasoning for me not 3rd casting yet. Why should I spend time and money trying to 3rd cast for something that looks so cheap. I understand it's not a fashion show, but it should have been original and not a copy, especially being that people spend good money and hard earned time getting to this point. Here's a question I pose.

    Is this done to confuse other players when dueling(even though you can look at a toons gear), for that reasoning, to make an apposing player think your using morai and not r9 3rd? When in a battle, lets say NW. You don't have time to view a toons gear. You see a player, you click to fight them, you assume it's morai, and you get slammed back with r9 3rd cast and rocked. that's my opinion on this.

    I think barbs got the worst out of the bunch tbh...the morai stick as I call it makes me Lol at the fact its the by all time worst wep made in size/appearance suited for a tanking class. At the price it comes from..it's straight out riddiculous and will make many barbs reside to r8r wep or even warsoul I believe (more people than some think will reside to choose better looking gears with less stats).

    And your NW statement is what makes me run from morai sticks nowadays...I see, I run. I don't bother figuring out if it's a morai or a s3 cause chance is it'll cause me a fast death being curious. b:laugh

    It's pretty sad we're stuck with crappy looking R9 third cast.
    The only classes with "unique" weapons are BM archer and sin. All of these aren't very good though

    BM = reskinned Lunar Nirv Dual Axes
    Archer = reskinned OHT bow
    Sin = missing texture

    There are actually plenty of unused weapon designs in the files.

    This set of designs (group 26) we got with the Sirens of War Expansion (or maybe it was before? I forget) http://imgur.com/a/xUUHN they look pretty cool but nothing uses them yet

    Again nothing uses them. Actually maybe we don't want those... some look pretty weird.

    Oh my the daggers soulsphere and wand in 27 still look hot to me!
    I'm sure a bigger fan of them than the ones we're currently stuck with..thanks alot for sharing! b:thanks

    Can only dream that they'd go on and switch the textures we have to something like that or warsoul like, I completely love the warsoul graphics as a whole..colors, way of being in design..etc.
    Seems pwi graphics on weapons have changed a bit in style, they seem very big and sharpcut compared to the more smooth looking effect on lunar nirvana for example (might b that sharpen is used when taking the pics ingame tho, lol) Some seem riddiculously big, like that glaive in 26. I'm sure they'd look better if they were smaller.

    Right now S3 nirvana and s2 (lunar) with set bonus..is a big fav for me in regards of their looks and sleek details/theme, far more shiny and nicer than s3r9 b:cry

    I agree they should make every armor unique. Its so boring if there are same/similar looking armor.

    Honestly. PWI should make gears dyeable. Ijs, it would be aswome running around in pink r9 armor.

    i agree completly r9 3rd forge should have a change of skins i like group 27 the best it also contians more wepon types than group 26 ^.^

    as an suggestion, i think pwi should add a feature, that lets you design your equipment, as you want.
    I saw it in a different game and it was so damn awesome, the system is just great, here is how it works:

    You have your Main weapon, lets say Adversity Daggers. They are for Lv 101.
    So now you get a weapon, which is a dagger and is lower then lv 101. You can now switch the skin from the weapon you choose (Lets say Barrier Thorn Nirvana) and transfer it to the Adversity Dagger.
    Now, the Adversity Dagger looks like Barrier Thorn Nirvana, the Barrier Thorn daggers gets destroyed in this act.
    NO effects get transfered, just the looks.

    This would be epic

    To be honest, we're more likely to get a model change to 26 or 27.
    It's pwi. They're not going to create a whole new gear design feature just cause we don't like what it looks like. To be honest I don't really mind what it is at the moment except for r9r2.
    There's already been a rather large thread on changing the model of our r9r2. Perhaps if Val saw this he could put it forwards.

    When this topic was started we only had group 26 in our clients but with the last update we have both group 26 http://imgur.com/a/xUUHN and group 27 http://imgur.com/a/Uqq2a weapons in our clients.
    I'd love for our R999 weapons to use group 26 though some in group 27 are nice too.
    For armors we can switch from morai to the cool looking PWCN R999 armors.

    Switching everything over could be done in just 15 minutes since we have all these cool models ready to go :S

    So perhaps, now that we have 2 threads which suggest that the wider public would like a model change, we should make a poll thread asking which one is most preferred and then put it forward to v4l+co?

    The designers of fash and gear need a serious theropy session. This is why all males wear the same thing. We dont want feathers, rhinestones, sparkles, fur, thongs, straps, lace, and Milli Vanilli spandex outfits "Girl you know it's true". We just want a real wardrobe with real clothing. The morai gear has a scarf or flag hanging from it. morai gear is basically free. Why should I have free looking gear, when I paid for my gear. I want unique gear.

    I just had to LOL at the OP's link to the r9r3 weapons. The barb weapon isn't even being wielded by a barb, unless PWI recently made female barbs possible. b:chuckle

    I thought this was funny, and very true. Male fash looks... too femmy. Dark Lord and End of an Era is my personal favorites, and the Celebrity fash is decent, but highly over used. Go back to therapy China Fashion Dev's!
