    Talking seriously:

    Although is a very unorthodox build for barbs, it's actually good. My friend has an arcane barb and uses him for pulling catas in tw. He has to tank r9 sins, r9 psys, and mages, and he does it amazingly well.

    The guild where he pulls catas is called Apathy, and the other day I heard someone in common chat saying this: "Apathy has a really tanky barb..." They probably meant my friend's barb b:chuckle

    The obvious downside of the build is that you cannot use weapons of your level (or maybe you can but need a very expensive tome), but for tanking, the build does its job.

    the biggest weakness of barbs are mages, so arcane armor gets rid of that. the barb will still have alot of phys defense. the problem is that arcane armor doesnt refine as well as heavy armor. also what armor set is that in the initial picture?

    That's really a magical panda. Cool-looking, but not very functional.

    The faction name fits his build really well too.

    They are ok, but not really viable

    Why not HA cleric, HA veno, HA Psy instead?

    EDIT catabarb with radiant wand would be pretty beast

    That's cool, but not sure how well it would do, I would have to see it in action. We have a few HA Venos on HT server, they are awesome DD's and can take major hits. I think I might try and build a Barb like an Archer lol, that would be interesting only using a bow, or like a Sin hahaha and use stealth pots lol.

    well there is a story behind this arcane barb... it originally was made just to buff a main... so it was given a **** ton of magic so it can constantly buff when we died in our alt TWs.... however now the owner of the barb is seriously considering using it to pull catas.... we'll see if he goes through with that b:laugh

    HA cleric works surprisingly well, very little in the game I can't solo (slowly) and holds up well in 1v1 and group pvp situations.

    Here is my exact build, still some work to do in sharding JoSD and final refinements. Also I have a cloud stir to switch out to and will use it once I upgrade it from nation wars.

    Funny thing about calc .. you manage to make something work in the end but would never be able to equip it ingame because you don't reach required stats unless you're maxing everything out.

    You don't need any stats to equip a cape and tome, and those give you enough magic to equip the armor. The build also has enough STR for the helm, and that combined with the tome and cape give you enough STR and DEX for the weapon.

    So... yeah.

    Just saw it managed to yeah, did a quick calc in head while at work - missed a point b:surrender

    Side note - I blame work for not having a Firefox to just remove it and see calculation then ;)

    At lower levels you need to rely on gear with +stat addons that can be equipped before your gear. At points it was quite a challenge to find rings, belts, necklaces and helmets to build it right. Now with the addition of G16 gear, ring and necklace engraving and the new tomes; alternative builds are becoming somewhat more popular as you don't need to deviate from the "normal" builds too much.

    The AA barb looks sexy and I am all for alternative builds for people looking to have fun making their toons b:pleased
