    Let's pretend i haven't distributed stats points.

:D deposited 100 bucks and got your toon powerleveled with 70 remaining now to equip it ? :p

To make an APS barb, you need a LOT more gold. a few 100 minimum, 500 or so to make it a bit proper. And even then, a barb shouldnt be purely an aps char, but swich between weapons so you can still use your skills. So besides the APS stuff, you need also good general stuff.

And a few aps items arent so usefull, its all the way or nothig, only once you get beyond 3aps it starts to be worth the effort. Now for a sin that is not a disaster, you just start saving your aps items and get better the more you get, but a barb better is a normal barb until he can afford at least to get 3 aps. So not a good idea to start your aps barb with 70 gold. So i'd say choose one of the following options:

-make your barb non-aps and use your 70 gold to get TT99 stuff. 70 gold is just about right to buy yourself a full TT99 set, some rings and amulet and you might have just a few coins to spare to spend on other convenient stuff like skills and a genie. (i hope you do have your skills basically leveled already? if not, that will also cost you about 15 gold or so for just the basic skills, not even any demon or sage ones) It is tradable and can be sold later when you have the riches for better stuff. You can restat later.

-start making your dex+str aps barb but have a plan to have at least several 100s of gold very soon (make some extra hours at your yob maybe b:chuckle) You'll be a bit of a fail barb until you do get that gold.

-Level a sin or BM, those are designed to be APS and are more suited to gradually imrove their APS over time, giving you more time to gather the needed few 100 gold.

To get into a little more detail for you i can explain what stat points you want. An APS barb wants dex for claws and str for armor. The exact numbers depend on what you get from your equipment, but it will be almost evenly spread since you probably want to be able to use both claws and axes/heavy armor. You have no points available for vit. This is one of the main reasons you want to wait to restat until you have 3aps. APS chars get their survivability from life stealing with the bloodpaint buff. You need high APS to have good life stealing.

Rich non APS barbs can be full str with no points in vit. These guys need to be rich because you need to spend 100s of gold refining all your armors to get the needed vitality.

Poor non APS barbs spread their points between vit and str. Needing somewhere between 250 and 300 base str depending on the stats they get from their items. So if you restat later, it will be turning vit into dex.

Items i dont know very much about since i dont have an APS char. A friend of mine has one though and it involves TT99gold stuff, 2 parts of heavy armor and 2 parts light.(roughly 25 gold each) He also got some nirvana pants (250 cannies which just plunged in price and i dont really know their new value) and some expensive rope (several dozen gold). deicides is the commonly used weapon and those start out at around 20-25 gold. You really want a good one though, all the attacks per second are not worth it if they dont do good damage. Other players can give you better info on items though. If you want to start on aps items and add more later when you have the wealth for 3aps, it is most important for now to know what TT99 gold heavy armor parts you want to get first since those are good for any kind of barb. I dont know which parts you best get the heavy and which ones the light armor. Maybe you can buy 2 TT99gold HA items now and buy second grade stuff for the rest of your equipment if you think you can upgrade it soon (when you get those extra hours payed at the end of next month) If that would be your choise, there'd be no big problem using TT70/80/90 stuff for the other armor parts until you can afford the rest of your aps stuff. I'd let it depend on how fast you think you get another 200 gold if you buy 2 good items and the rest **** or spread your money for a more balanced build now with all TT99 stuff.

PS: read the claw barb guide that is sticky in this forum.
PPS: If you are new to the game as i suspect, note that i talk about TT99 and TT99 gold which are 2 different things. The non gold parts cost less than 10gold each, the gold parts 20-25gold. Also when you go shopping, be patient, the prices for which items are offered vary greatly so take at least a week or so to see multiple offers and get to know the price for the item you are searching.

First, the stats: As Hruns said pure strength is the goal but until you have decent refines (+7 or better) you should stat a little vitality. I'd say before gear have 53 vit, 270 str, and 175 dex. Thats 483 stat points used and you should have 12 left over to play with depending on gear pieces. You want enough strength to use your axes (around 300), enough dex to use claws (around 193) and enough vitality to boost your hp and defenses so you can still do pulls and tank what is expected of a barb. Your claws will probably require around 193 dex but every 20 dex points gives you 1% crit, so 199 dex doesn't, 200 does. Most people aim for 200 dex. With 270 str and 175 dex when you equip your gear you should be around 300 str and 200 dex. With 53 vit later on once you've refined you can get a 50 restat note and reset it down to 3.

70 gold will be about 110m coin. Here is a list of aps gear and their ave price, I think we're both on sanctuary server so we can guess the price. The things you'll need for 5 aps are -.1 weapon, -.05 cape, -.05 pants, 2 x TT99 HA pieces (set bonus is -.05), and either 2 x TT99 LA or a -int tome. If you have a -int tome don't worry about TT99 LA pieces. If you don't, barbs debate which is better to have; 2 LA evasion ornaments or LA wrist and boots or some combo of the two. I prefer LA wrist and boots since even though HA refines better than LA and offers a little more defense, well refined ornaments will offer a ton of defense and you are easier to heal because you lose less hp, and bloodpaint will be more effective because you are losing less hp. Also, LA wrist and HA ornies you can account stash to an assassin and a bm, or if you need magic defense its really easy to swap just your ornies for magic ornies and only lose -.05 int. I went HA plate and belt, LA wrist and boots, and use a cube necklace for magic defense personally.

~Weapon: Deicides-30-60m. The price is really unstable right now because Nirvana just became cheap. For this reason you may just want to craft Windpourclaws, which will run you about 60m (10m to craft Caturma:Berserk base and 100 raps) and are G13 claws, but I believe they bind.
~4 TT99 pieces. To make LA or HA its the same price and same ingredients. Necklace runs about 16 mil, Belt runs around 24m, wrists run around 15m, and boots run around 20 mil. You can also chose TT99 plate as one of your HA pieces, it runs near to 30m. These prices can be brought down by farming the mats.
~-int pants. Barb have two options , either tier 2 Nirvana pants or R9 pants for -int. Nirvana pants will be much cheaper (to get R9 pants you'd need 300k rep, r9 ring, and pants of r around 650m total, but they're better). For Nirvana pants you can either go the TT route or the Lunar route. The TT route is slightly cheaper but binds, the lunar route is more expensive, is resellable, and lunar Nirvana gives more defense. Lunar pants run you about 30m in mats, and 250 cannies (about 30m also currently).
~-int tome. If you are looking for one, Pan Gu tome run's about 260m right now. Love: Up and down is running a little over 500m.

How would I spend 70 gold (110m)? If you are a big farmer I'd get my weapon and my TT99 HA belt and plate and start trying to refine those up and farming the mats for tt99 LA wrist and boots and eventually pants. The smarter thing would be to invest that 110m into merchanting and make it into 300m then get everything.

Btw, try to keep at least 14k hp so you can still do the barb job. With 14k hp and a decent cleric a barb can tank anything in the game. Even if you are 5 aps and out dd many sins, people will still come to you to do the tanking/pulling jobs, not the DDing. I have 19k hp, but 5 aps G16 claws and do similar damage to an r9 sin (more with my buffs) and I still have trouble getting into squads as a dd.
Seven 100+ characters leveled the hard way. Free to play. Mystic, Psychic, and Wizard left to level. b:victory

Guys he said 70M coins, not 70 gold. That makes his budget about 40M lower than you are using for your suggestions.

Trying to make an aps barb with 70M coins is only going to get him laughed at.
