DQ Alternatives

Try farming materials like purified oil, compound oil, concentrated glue, and rough fur. Those should sell fairly well to catshops buying them.

I've included links to pwDatabase for these items, find a mob in your level range that's not too hard to kill, and farm.

True. The catshop buying price for them on sanctuary is like 10k each, buy the selling prices are in range of 40-60k depending on material, seems like a flawed market already

You've obviously never merchanted before. They buy items for low, sell for high, then buy low again using their gains from selling. It nets them profit and the farmers profit. You can start with as little as 100k coin, which is how I started with mirages.

If OP has the time, he could set up a cat shop and sell the stock that way for a higher price than he'd get selling them to someone else's catshop.

There are coins out there, and ways to get them. You have to be smart, and not lazy.

Sell them anyway. Fairly certain 2mil is cheaper than a cage. (although I think they're on sale now, so...yeah)

Here's a crazy thought. We can actually start doing the Dragon Quest.

Have you actually tried doing quests? As I understand it, they increased coin rewards from quests to offset the DQ nerfs.

What if a player want to upgrade its own craft skill so it need those mats?

as good as they increased quest reward, it wont cut it.

quest can only be done once, where DQ can be gained in unlimited amount.
also, some ppl like to dump exp into Genie and farm coins first so they can maxed their skill / gear before leveling up..

if they hv to adapt, then that means there is no fun <lv80, u basically hv to rush to 80+ so u can actually enjoy the game without hv to play in haste.

Hay on our server goes for as much as 25k. Fruit and fungus, for some reason, tend to go for half that. I don't know if the drop rate is better on these, or it's just the fact that you need so many more of them.

Buying? What if they actually went out and KILLED MOBS for them instead? b:cute Below 60 now is quite easy, I only have one character above 60, the rest are at it or below. You get free charms, so you save on pots. You get cheap gear, so you save on gear. You get hax fb19 ornaments, so you save on ornaments. You get access to the best grinding mats, which sell better than higher level grinding mats.

My partner has 2mil coins in his inventory from quests, and running the tiger event on mondays. He frequently gets flawless gems and things as rewards, which he sells. On his lvl 50 veno.

You say there will be no money. I think you mean that you don't know how to get it. There is money out there, the merchants are hoarding it. In fact, there is TOO MUCH money, which is why everything is so expensive now, instead of how it was 4 years ago. Merchants control the market.

Heck, just doing your quests and making mirages, which npc for 10k, is a way to make money. Look, you just pulled free money out of cyberspace that no one else touched by npcing an item you can get by running TT and questing.

2 million might get you 2 skills at a higher level, what you going to do after that? and using a higher char to send money to a lower does not count for a new person!

There are catshops buying them around the elder of Archosaur usually, too. You may say there's no coin, but they'll still buy them for more than the npc price usually.

Or you could do what I did. Start with 100k, and merchant items while you sleep. Turning 100k into 3mil was hard and took 3 months, but I did it without having to go to one instance or kill one mob.

Fairly certain he's saving that 2mil to buy/sell mats later. He could turn it into 200m with some work.

I don't have a single char above 96. So I'm not some high level person soloing everything or getting excitement cards from bh, all I get are fairy box keys I can't use and reflection shards I have 4 days worth of. I don't get taken to high level dungeons to get mats to sell for high prices. And Jer is frequently dirt poor from having to buy mana food. So I'm not sending ANYTHING to any char, trust me. Most of my chars are 60 and below.

Here, I'll give you some tips.

Quest.
Pick up every single drop you get that sells for more than 1 coin.
Do Dragon Quest with DQ items for copper/silver orders and sell those to other players.
Merchant bank DQ.
Merchant crafting mats.
Merchant mirages.
Merchant Tokens.
Merchant rep badges.
Do Nation wars. Poke ALL the people.
Run the tiger event. Make lvl30 weapon tokens and sell the weapons for profit.
Grind DQ for points. Make perfect stones. Merch them.
Play the game.

Probably the most important: Have fun. If you're not having fun, why play the game?
