Is there any meaning for 2x anymore?

Nirvana is thing of the past now, and people were excited about 2x manly cause of Nirvana farming. Even when 2x drops are on, drops can't match Nation Wars.
Also, 2x drops means only ~20% increase in chance to get Gold drop in TT.
Heck, I got all my Golden drops in TT when 2x drops were OFF!
And leveling up is easier than ever, so there is no reason for 2x for that either.
DQ drops, perhaps that's the only reason to be happy about 2x, to farm them. But only 81+ cause everything else is 1 coin now.
So is there any reason for us to have 2x anymore?

Only for those who have to farm for their armor... Coin wise, no... Pretty ironic actually... They give us 3 weeks of 2x and after only a few days they pull this... b:surrender[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]

Let's see here. I'll be leveling my crafting which is extremely tedious and expensive without 2x. I'll be 2nd casting my daggers on DW. I'll be farming some TT (I suspect the prices on that gear is going to rise as farmers realize that people can't nirvy gear without it.) I'll be leveling my bm and mystic to 60 without having to pay others to do it. If I have time I'll still be able to poison grind on my cleric and get another sage/demon card. So yay, new fashion. Maybe. And I'll be taking advantage of the extra gear/coin drops and leveling my lowbie skills on HT. Hmm, seems like a fun 2x to me.
Anyway moving this to the general discussion about what expansion has done to the game if it turns into just another niravana thread. As it is now, it's just about 2x so i'll leave it be.0 -
Yeah the dq will be valuable for the demon/sage event card so that people can buy charms to use in the nations war.0

I really wonder if people simply don't play PWI anymore and are just drones. DQ points turned in still get you dq points for what ever you want from the dq item shop.
2x - Is a time of great conflict for most. OP people band together, farm vana, tt. Non OP people either sulk around or they have fun. I have yet to see the joy of farming vana during 2x or any other time. There are far better and more rewarding coin/hour place to earn money compared to vana. I am just surprised people are satisfied with peanut money when farming.0 -

I still have fun in this game b:shocked. But yes, most people i see are farming zombies, they have lost the meaning of fun in games.
I remember just doing my own thing in D2 and got stuff as I went along. I had fun in that game(single player only), even though it is similar to pwi in terms of farming.0 -

That's fair point, but I need coins in game. And stuff that I buy from Event Gold can't be sold/traded. So 2x was my time to get coins, to upgrade gear, pay for Tokens to buy Crabs and Tele...
And if there is so many ways to earn a lot of money fast, please show me the place where I can farm 1m in 15-20 minutes.0 -

You're forgetting that TT99 isn't cheap. Just basic 4 TT99 gear pieces (Plate, Leggings, Boots, Arms, Wep) costs around 80m. If you want TT99 ornaments, that's another 30m. And Robe and Helmet is another 20m
So just to get Full TT99 that's already 130m coins.
And it goes without saying, that you can't farm TT3-x, for TT99 golden mats, without really good gear. And if you do it with squad, split from eventual Gold drop is not that much. And Gold drops aren't 100% sure to drop in every run.
Even when 2x is ON, there is still so few % chance that there will be gold drop.
Let's take, I don't know, Empire's Back Image, that is required to make Lionheart Belt.
Now, correct me if I'm wrong:
2x OFF - 11% chance of getting it
2x ON - 11% chance of getting it
It's just there is 2x more drops, not 2x more chance to get gold drop.0 -

I still have plenty of fun in the game. Then again my highest level is only 91, and I do my quests in my available quest list, help people with their FB/BH, run in squads with friends, etc. I'm in no hurry to level, of have the best gear, I play to escape the stresses of real life, a horrible work schedule (but it pays quite well), and don't plan on turning the game into a stressful, poor me, all that time wasted, I wanted to be revered bit now I'm like everyone else, cry-fest.

and on topic to the thread, still a lot to do! gear may be a little easier to upgrade, so what? Gives you more chances to lvl classes up you might not have tried, TT will be farmable again, its the base for g16 and vana after all, FCC, mindless as it is will lvl your toons for ya! then there is dq, even if they are 1 coin set up a cat shop for the people too lazy/pressed for time >.> they will buy it for more than 1 coin, this game is changing, not dying /o/[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]

you are talking like its impossible to get 130m without nirvy
straight 2 years and a half ago.....i used to farm spiders in avalanche canyon and leveling that way.....during 4months i farmed 300m coins worth of glaze and dq points
thats how i made all my tt99 and got g13 daggers....this is just example.....there is way more way you could get 130m if you really need it even without farming nirvana0 -

That's the problem with alternatives to Nirvana, they are so slow to get coins. When I had time, I farmed 40m a day in caster runs while 2x is on. So instead of farming 3-4 months I need to farm a week.
Basically, now I need to be happy about 2x, just to be able to farm DQ and mats, to put cat shop and merchant. I hate merchanting, it's not my playstile and I hate to have PC on just to have cat shop in game.0 -

Don't forget, there's a cap on TT mat prices because of the Mysterious Merchant.
I, like many, was looking forward to 2x for Caster Nirvy and opening on my finally 100 Barb, but that's not needed now. Now I can get back to grinding for dq mats for Sage/Demon cards and doing TT with my wife, who just happened to go from 2.86 to 5 aps in one, wonderful, two hour event. b:victory

Other instances provide you much better money far more quickly. It just depends on whether you can run them enough times or have friends that take you. Vana was an easy way out for aps people. Caster vana was where the real money was, but that got stopped sadly.
You may not like merchanting, but let's see what it does. From 200m i made 1.3b in 6 months. So 1.1b coin.
That is 1.1b coins in 4368 hours. That is 251k per hour, it is not as good as farming but it is an alternative, because it allows you to gather far greater wealth than simple farming alone for most people if they relied on nirvana.
I have my pc on for other reasons, so having 1~2 shops open is not an issue for me.0 -
2x has no meaning for someone like myself who has completed their full 3rd cast Nirvana gear. I was planning on soloing caster nirvana to make coin for to refine and shard my gear...now that's impossible now due to raptures and uncannies practically worthless. As a caster I have no source of income anymore, and now aps classes will enjoy the fact they can do TT while a caster like myself can spend hours looking at wc to find a squad for TT.
Basically I feel that casters are back at square 1 again, where they have no instance dedicated to their respective classes. I feel sorry mainly for clerics who relied on caster nirvana as income, but now they are just a useless class in pve since bp is the new ironheart.

If you're THAT confused about your pwi life, there's nations war now to get your precious canny/raps. It's like saying "NO I WANT THIS ITEM TO BE MORE RARE SO I CAN MAKE MORE MONEY!" Just because it has become something more common, doesn't mean you can't make money off of it.
Since you talk about how easy you make money back the in caster, just think of it as "Yes i can play my favourite game of all time more cause it takes just that bit much longer!"
The one thing i like/hate about the expansion is that there will be more C$ers that don't know what Gush is, or that you're not supposed to let barbs/tank classes charm tick so much just because you want to tempest, or even that just because i can attack 5 times at once means i'm legit pro! Most people unfortunately fall into this category and will have the ability to become the god they want to be. But i guess the good side is, people will stop QQ-ing so hard about "not having good gears" since it's so easily accessible and NOW they'll see how skill-less they really are! (it's not that you suck, it's just people are good at their own thing and a game like PWI may not be it b:shutup)0 -
My level 53 cleric has 179k coins, the repairs on his gear just cost him 23.5k. DQ items have always paid for my gear repairs but not anymore. I think I'm done, I tried but I just can't spend another minute in this game.0
