Unable to get launcher to load

When i tried to update the launcher its self, it would show the downloading bars and when it was done it would disappear and nothing would happen so i would click on the icon to relaunch it and i keep getting an error saying "Windows cannot access the specified device, path, or file. You many not have appropriate permissions to access the item." The error is coming from "C:\Perfect World Entertainment\Perfect World International\patcher\patcher.exe" I have never had issues past few years of me playing this game and i have tried uninstalling it compelety and re installing it and yet did it again. Suggestions?

    I have the exact same problem, tried re-downloading and installing the whole thing, still failed, manual patch failed too. Please advise.

    yeah i was wondering when do we recieve the items that u are suppose to get when u sign up with the new expansion the one u registered with? I am on the game and i have no recieved my in game items it says they are suppose to come out today so when do we recieve them?

    You may have to be on a Windows Admin account, or have Run as Admin access to be able to download, install, update, and run the game. If on Windows Vista or 7, you may have to change the level of your UAC settings or turn them off temporarily.

    You can try adding the game folder/files to your exceptions list in your antivirus and firewall software. Please see the help menu or support website for the software that you use if you aren't sure how to do it.

    At your own risk, you may have to disable your antivirus, firewall, and other security software temporarily while you download, install, update, login to, and play the game. Sometimes the security software will block it or throttle it, no matter what you try or even if you try to add exceptions for the game files in your security software.

    Stop any processes that may be interfering with the networking and causing issues with your connection.

    Remove/Uninstall any unnecessary programs such as toolbars or Pando Media Booster.

    You may need to uninstall the game, making sure to remove any excess files, then re-install it.

    Please be patient they're sending the gifts slowly there are huge request for gifts soo it will take sometime.

    Found out the desktop icon wasnt working, had to click the pwi from the programs folder in start menu and its booting up finally just hope it downloads everything ok >.<
