I keep getting this error when i try to make a manual patch.
I googled it and found a few suggestions (like disable antivirus and firewall or reset IE) but they dint work.
Im now trying to make an auto update, but it lasts forever (1 hour now and cant even see the progress bar moving)
Halp im running out of ideas

The solution once you are trying to update you have to disable your anti-virus and update it auto or manualy whatever u like , if u don't do it the your anti-virus will mess up with it .[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]

like this guy say dosent work becase when after you installed the program and then also installed the patch and restart computer, and put your antivirus and firewall on again it will detect a adware virus or a trojan virus .TACK.DLL and it will delete that file from the computer and then perfectworld want run scrws up the shortcut and thern you have to reinstall the whole program lol what f cking mess pwi have gotten them self into this time . and i just applo the ppl who plays with out a antivirus system on0 -
Forget it I tried everything. I downloaded the patches from the links provided and all I got was listed files error and unrecognized game client. The launcher is still not working as I even disabled my antivirus and redownloaded the game which took 10 hours to do and it is still not working.0

It's not the client or the patch causing the problem, it's something on your system.
You've just got to narrow down what it is on your system that is causing the issue.
First off, you have to add the client directory to the exception list for your antivirus software. (As is detailed on the downloads page, and has been for a long time.)
Secondly, you need to disable the active, or real-time scan of your antivirus so that it does not try to "clean" the files while they are downloading/installing/updating.
Lastly, after performing the full install, or the large manual patch, it is best to reboot due to the memory leaks caused by the patcher and the client.
If you have actually followed this in intricate detail and are still having an issue, posting specifically what you've done, what software and OS you are running, and providing details on the errors, will get you a hell of a lot more help than just b****ing.
Note: If you are doing a fresh install rather than an update, steps one and two are reversed.Take the time to look for your answer before you post like an idiot.

And then there is us.

for everyone who is having this problem ,Try running the client as an administrator worked for me0

I had the same problem, so I turned off 2 of my Anti virus probrams, installed manually but that didn't work.
So I decided to give it another go and auto download patches, and its decided to update.
Now I can't remember if it was in Admin mode or not. So if nothing else has worked for you so far try what I did, turn off all my anti virus programs, run manual patching.
If that dosen't work close it and then click on the icon on your desktop, rightclick run in admin and update it from there, if this doesn't work then restart your computer, try again except this time you do NOT run in admin mode.0
