Updated Launcher

So, with the latest expansion, will we be getting an updated launcher to reflect it? It seem kind of silly for the launcher to still be advertising the Descent expansion but the loading and log in screens reflect the Sirens of War expansion.

    I have too. I'm currently in game and playing, but the launcher still looked like the one from the Descent expansion.

    i cant get on game and the new client looks like the pwi sirens one not decent but nothing i do lets me play and i need to get online and i cant plz someone tell me something to fix it so i can play..ive tryed the manual patches and it still dont work ive tryed lettign it download for ever and nothing so plz help em fix my client so i cna play

    The launcher is supposed to update to the new theme but guess for you it didn't for some reason.

    The new launcher does look pretty though...

    yea looks pretty but i cant play the damn game cause it either says update other server or tells em to continue download or restart no matter how long i wait

    How did you update your game? Try using launcher.exe if you used patcher.exe and vice versa

    If it was manual patch, then try both of those exes.

    I did the manual patch, and ran both of those executable files, but I still have the Descent launcher. Oh well, I can still log in.

    @ Kensy: It would be much more helpful if you provided a little more information about the difficulty that you are having so that someone may be able to try to assist you so that you can play the game.

    If you're absolutely certain that you ran launcher.exe and patcher.exe with no effect, then try this:

    Go to \Perfect World Entertainment\Perfect World International\config\patcher
    Look for a file called version.sw
    Open with notepad
    It should say 53
    Change that number to 52, save the file
    try updating with patcher.exe
    The first thing it will tell you is that an update is available (it won't redownload the expansion again, it'll just download the launcher as if you were updating for the first time)

    If that doesn't work, try changing it to a lower number like 50.

    Fyi, this is not messing with the game files, this is one way of getting the launcher to fix improper updates without needing to verify.

    I had to go down to 50 before it updated the launcher...
