But if it's random then 1 of the 4 factions with a R9 +10 will make an easy victory over other lands and while this is all good, and lvl 60's get a reward for just being in that faction, there ain't much fun to it. Maybe put a level bracket on them like...60-69, 70-79, 80-89, 90-99, 100+ so we can all have an equal chance of fun at this style of steal the flag PK and fee like the reward we worked for it.0 -
It said that the npc will try to divide the teams to make them all equal. I suppose we can expect the levels to be evened out in each faction.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]

The NPC also doesn't alter squads, though... so it may be possible to cheat it by making sure certain people are in certain squads... b:surrender0

Because that would **** over basically all of the US players. Most on the east coast would just be getting off of work right then and it would lock out pretty much any west coast people playing on the east coast servers.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]

I see it as mostly being a one sided pk. As an r9... I won't be very happy going in to pk with some undergeared mooch in my squad. So it is probably safe to say most r9s will be squaded with other r9s. There may be only a handful of squads that has the gear average (or better) to match what I have. Unless each side can tell what the other side sends to a certain territory... randomly matching up of squads for battle is going to be serverly one sided. Considering that yesterday I one shoted my 8x cleric in full tt80 gear for 10x her hp in a damage test... its going to get interesting when a group of tt60s go up against me.
On the other hand... the capture the flag arena has me a bit worried. Considering it is not like TW where catas have to stay still to take down tower/crystals. There is just no ****ing way I can catch/kill a barb on the run. 1-3 shots aside... it is going to be hell trying to catch any geared runner regardless of class.1. If I kill you; do something about it yourself, don't go complaining to my wife.
2. If you have less kill counts then me, don't expect me to take pk advice from you.
3. If you are hiding behind an alt, don't expect me to acknowledge your existence.

There are many spaces to be filled, perhaps he will balance squads as well? What I mean, is that it will see that it balanced a squad of R9's into one team, and the next squad of R9's to arrive will be put in the opposite team.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]

I'm not completely sure of the mechanics yet but if flags can be transferred, it'll be a pretty big deal and sending groups after the flags will be the most ideal. If not, though, we may wind up with a situation where some barb and a small group of support tries to rush the flags on each side while a majority sits around trying to nuke anything that gets anywhere near the flag. I suppose we'll have to see how the mechanics and terrain play into account before deciding, though.
There will be a huge deal depending on the flag sitution...
1. Does flag reset or drop when carrier dies.
2. If it drops... does it reset when defender picks it up.
Either way... I expect to spend a lot of time hopelessly chasing after some r9 jade barb.
As a curious note... archers have the longest/fastest (unstunnable) max speed of any class. Depending on the size of the map (which I doubt will be that big considering 40 players max)... maybe a jade archer will be an attractive sprinter.1. Each guild (at least on HT) can probably only fill 2-3 high caliber squads. It will be hard to manipulate end results with these squads alone... as there are rival guilds with the firepower to match. Of course there is always the possibility to average out the firepower... although that would make any squad ineffective against rivals. With the 4 different nations... its not hard to gank the least representitive nation.
Communication shouldn't be a problem among disciplined squads... even if they are from different guilds. Only communication problem would be from rag tag teams. And with the possibility of upwards of 10ish geared squads on the field... communication is going to be the least of their problems.1. In the description it says that the people already in a squad remain in the squad. Not sure if more people get added to your group or not if not full 20.
I am just interested in what the losing side gets b:chuckle. I know most people will kill me, i just want to see what i can farm from this instance for the new r9 gear, tome, items.
Flag mechanics will be fun, but we'll have to wait and see. They mentioned 20 vs 20, problems occurs does squad size increase to 20, or can make max of 2 squads at 10, or a smaller number of squads?
If squad is limited to 10, you get OP friends in their, random people join your team, lower lvl. They'll probably just appear as moochers, simply because they have nothing to do.
In short, lots of questions about this, we can only wait and see what the deal with it is in the end. I just want to farm my r9 recast in peace b:cry.0 -
If I had to guess, the flag will have to be dug, the flag carrier will have a movement debuff on them while they're carrying the flag, their weapon is replaced with the flag, so no skills can be used, and they cannot attack because they're holding the flag.

First two I'm hoping for and agree with. Third one I'm on the fence about. Especially since we do have a good few skills that can be used with "any" weapon, plus genies, and it could disable our survival skills if the flag is considered a forcibly equipped weapon of some type no class can use skills with.
Definitely hoping for the last part though because otherwise it'll just be a case of zerg rush the flag for victory.0 -

Nagging feeling, "The first team to win 20 points, or the team with the highest score at the end of 25 minutes will control the region". Those 20 points might play a role on movement debuff, stealth. If stealth works b:dirty.
Judging from the amounts of lands available, and the fast paced it is, should be enough space for all the people to take part in it. There seems to 21 lands per Order. If we exclude original base, that is 20. If max each tw land is 40 players, that is 80 landsx40 players = 3200 players. I am sure there will be lots of tws with no shows, or very little resistance. Not sure how the first few are established, is it pve tw like normal ones? Do people branch out from their faction base, or have set territories they can skirmish across?
That is why a nagging feeling that there might not be a movement debuff. Should be fun to explore though, i doubt we'll have 3 200 people turning up for this, if that is the max limit b:chuckle. Only a few more days to go b:pleased.0
