Every time I save a random squad from a wipe by making up for whatever the squad's idiot does and have to do it unhealed or with no support.
I think this applies to me as well b:chuckle I can't really think of anything heroic or rather, recall my "heroic" things but for one thing; I know I've sacrificed a lot of resources or even dying for the sake of my squad in several occasions.
This is not limited to random squads though. My friends/faction mates are no idiots but **** happens and sometimes I had to be the one to save the day.[SIGPIC]http://i.imgur.com/MtwcqjL.png[/SIGPIC]

The most heroic thing I've ever done is run away!...after I messed up lol.
fb69: Fighting pole (or nob. I forget, but it's the one with the worse debuff) on my cleric. I brainfarted and forgot to purify the barb, archer grabbed aggro, I ran a little back, tried to heal archer, but he died pretty fast, squad wiped, I was the only one alive. Holy path'd my rear end off backtracking around the corner, boss gets stuck because he couldn't get around the corner fast enough after me, and he resets. I was both a hero and a moron that day b:laugh0 -

Back in Froscovered (FB51) Fushma killed Derp barb and went after healing it cleric, I used knife throw skill and pulled it as far as I could until cleric could teleport town without dieing (If I died Fushma would go for the cleric) I sacrificed 5% of my EXP that day, I will never got those back *Sniff*Mystic: 99 lvl (Main)

I think however that, much like in the real world, real heroes are those making the world better for others in small ways. Soloing bosses for lowbies or giving up your share of loot to undergeared players, sometimes just taking the time to cheer up a friend or guildie who may seem down, even strangers. I've been very fortunate in terms of being on both ends of these small acts of kindness and I do get to see them often enough that it does make up for a lot of the greed, noobishness and even outright trolling that i see in a lot of squads.
The most heroic thing I've done in game has been standing up for others against bullies. There are plenty of scenarios that can make this difficult (tank threatening to leave, banker holding all mats, etc.) but usually you can count on someone having your back if you stand up for something fair.

I am not an active player and i play with friends. People do silly things with friends, like holding the metal boss alive for 5 minutes by constantly purging him without a veno b:chuckle, that is just goofing around, nothing heroic.
The only heroic thing i can think of that i do personally, i share my knowledge with players in the game. I offer cheap services. I sell cheap items. I mess up markets for my own pleasure. The other day someone was going to spend 90m on a few sage barb skills. I told him how to get the skills, he got both the skills on the first try and saved himself 80m. I told a few people how to do some things in game and they made a pretty penny for themselves to the point they have better gear than me b:angry.

I hate it when people mess up markets just because they are rich enough to do so. They never do it enough to make a real difference in buyer income. But it does knock out small time merchants just trying to get enough money to startup or get by. If you want to give away money, why not just give it away? I don't know it kinda feels like Walmart coming in and bullying my small catshop away. b:chuckle I don't shop at Walmart usually either. Unless I have no choice. I am by no means a big merchant . I drive down prices to the point where the big shops quit. I quit with them. Some markets don't respond well to this tactic. There are markets where people make 3~8m profit for every item sold, i just reduce that margin b:chuckle.
The problem is that people have notions that there are suppose to be certain returns. If you buy something for 4m, heavens forbid if you sell it for less than 5m. That is 25% markup or more. If i sell that item at 4.5m, i am making decent profit, 12.5%, but other shops get ticked off and send me hate mail. There are lots of markets where the profit margins are 1%~4% and those people never complain. Personally for me that is not bullying or being bad, that is just taking advantage of a sluggish market opportunity. That is because the only way to fight the bigger shops is to undercut them. Sometimes it works, other times it does not. Naturally a bit more thought goes in the above strategy, but that is the simple case.
If any one person can control the market for a specific item, that person has to sell that item at a really low price to deter new comers from taking away the profits. In the end players win in either cases in pwi. Doesn't work like that in real life sadly. Plus competition is fun in pwi, otherwise merchanting will be a boring task.
Another example is canny and raps. Most shops tend to resell their canny and raps. I had to buy 700 raps for 2 weapons. Some people couldn't stand the thought that someone else have a higher price, this led to a sudden price increase during that 2x. It was fun to watch, i still got my raps at my price, but the spiral that began was insane. Raps hit the 2m mark near the end, and they began at 1.2m mark.
I have yet to find a market in pwi that i have dabbled in where sellers and buyers don't benefit from the competition that is created. May not be the best solution for all sellers, but that is the field of economics, trying to please everyone b:shocked.0 -

I'm more referring to big merchants who actually can hurt profits. Like I was pack merchanting and one of the big guys decided to have some fun and merchant them for a while in addition to his usual stuff. But he did it well below even buy back value. So he was selling at a loss just to **** with people or because he was bored or some misplaced sense of altruism. I don't really know. But it was very annoying, it didn't help it was my like my second week doing it. >< Afterwards a good sale came up (which he had no way of knowing, so i'll cut him that slack) and gold prices rose to a point where I couldn't even get my base price back. It took me three weeks to get back in the game. It sucked. .
I'm not talking about those that are just trying to be competitive or anything like that. That's fair and to be expected. And I don't count money before it I get it and agree that's pretty stupid. But it does suck when you lose money for no other reason then someone is bored.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]

I stay away from packs. I have no idea how people price them. Most are just mean about it.
"I set up 1k packs, only 10 sold, let's drop the price from 700k to 600k"...next day"hmm only 5 sold, lets try 500k"....next day "There are packs in my shop still b:shocked, that's it 400k selling packs"
Most often people who sell packs don't realise their break even price it seems. Same goes for the rep sellers. I just kept on changing the price in my shop name but not the actual rep and saw the price plummet, a sure sign not to take part in selling rep ever again.
Scary stuff happens in those two markets.0 -

The margins are small for pack market but you can usually sell all of them in a day or so if you check throughout the day. So it's not too bad. And most don't sell below break even they just have very small profit margin. Which is why it's kinda funny when people call pack merchants "greedy" when really, they have some of the smallest markups of anyone.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]

Not really heroic, but I have on a few occasions found someone who obviously DCed and was getting charm nicked, so I went in and kept killing the mobs until the character disappeared, then I went on my merry way.
If on my BM I will do whatever it takes to keep the cleric/healer alive. If on my cleric, I will do whatever it takes to keep the tank alive. In a squad, on my cleric I do a cleric's job...keep the squad alive, I don't DD. If out and about, I will heal or buff those I see getting beaten up. I will cast a rez if I see a corpse, etc.
I wouldn't say heroic, but instead, just doing what my various characters are meant to do.WeBeKinky Leader - lvl 10x psychic

I was helping someone running a BH on the fb69 instance. I was using my BM and Cleric, when we reach the Gaurnob and Equinox area I start taking the bosses and healing myself on the cleric. She was dealing damage but then suddenly she gets hit by the AoE and dies, I revived her but she didn't go up. At first I thought she got dc'ed but she was in fact AFK so I tanked both bosses (cuz the BH was stacked so I couldn't really kill either) and burned halfway through my charm. She came back and was surprised to see how long I managed to survive but even more surprised that I waited for her (30 minutes).I am Liam Neeson, you may remember me in such films as I will find you and I will kill you. b:pleased0

I was on my cleric in one of the 100 Second Stand rooms in the cube when a seeker runs up beside me and says "Help!" so I very heroically start alternating IH between the two of us. I was on my way to major herodum right up until a couple of the mobs starting attacking me and I used Siren's Kiss to kill them... b:embarrassThere are 10 kinds of people in the world.
