While on my veno, and old friend that was a cleric spawned into Bh79. The darn archer mob that picks people off upon spawning in had got a shot off her. There was no time to pull my pet out, so I attacked it with my magic to quickly get aggro. I lasted long enough for the others to return to kill the mob. Hence I died for her. People I care about, I don't like them dying, and I will do whatever I can to prevent their death, even if it means risking my own "life".

Every time I save a random squad from a wipe by making up for whatever the squad's idiot does and have to do it unhealed or with no support.

    Heroic....No clue :D

Though I guess for when I play my BM it's the fact that the rest of the squad can ****ing drop dead before I let any and all clerics see a single bit of damage from a mob in their log <.<

Generous....If that counts anywhere near a heroic act, probably given away half the amount i've charged over the years to friends ingame via items or direct coins.

when i was on my barbarian when he was little, grinding up near gate of antiquity where the darkbreeds spawn, i saw a little veno sans pet being chased by about three wolves halfway back to the town. since i had my temporary flier, i ran over and took aggro, then flew up a bit to reset the mobs. c: she was thankful. <3

Hmm in all seriousness, the most heroic thing i've ever done in pwi... I save peoples ***** on a daily basis when they bite off more than they can chew no matter what toon I'm on. I was in fc on my psychic in a fail pull from the bishop boss to runewolf, being the beast I am I sacrificed myself to save the entire squad (except the fail seeker who failed the pull) so they were safe at the door to runewolf as long as they didn't move.

I don't consider my normal job of making sure no one dies in a dungeon a heroic act. It's just what I do.
Randomly healed a few people along the world map that were about to die to the mobs they were fighting.
^^ That's about the gist of my heroism, too. Oh, and rezing people I find scattered across the map. And the ground.

Don't know if you'd call it heroic, but it WAS my own personal
    moment of glory:

In Frost, pre-Tide, back when it was a difficult 3-4 hr run, squad
made up of lvl 80-90+ chars (very few 100+ players in game at
that time). At Slash boss, his aoe went off early . . .

An aside: I've always wondered about that, and I think I now
know what happened, based on some things I've read recently
in forums. I'm thinking that the barb tried to cancel the boss's
throwing of that aoe, and thus made it hit early?

Anyway, Slash boss aoe hits before anyone except me (ep) was out of
range. I always had my finger ready over hotkey for Holy Path during
that boss, lol, and hit it as soon as I saw his 1st line in chat. So
    everyone dead but me.

I had aggro now, but managed to stay alive, rez all squad, & get
them buffed to go on to successful kill. I'd give anything to have
    a vid of that event.

Sorry if this is not exactly on topic, but I've been wanting to
tell that story for ages, lol. The rest of squad considered me a
hero that day. It was probably the best I've ever felt playing this
    game.

23 hours & 50 min of straight bosses as the barb, instanced or not, for faction mates when Dreamweaver was about 1 week old, the only time(s) in between were those spent teleporting/repairing equipment.

runner up(s): much time has been devoted educating new players on various aspects.

Heroics are a very relative thing, I think most veterans can tell tales of dying for clerics, holding the fort tanking or being chased around by a boss, and in general terms saving squads from wipes through some timely, sometimes altruistic, action.

I think however that, much like in the real world, real heroes are those making the world better for others in small ways. Soloing bosses for lowbies or giving up your share of loot to undergeared players, sometimes just taking the time to cheer up a friend or guildie who may seem down, even strangers. I've been very fortunate in terms of being on both ends of these small acts of kindness and I do get to see them often enough that it does make up for a lot of the greed, noobishness and even outright trolling that i see in a lot of squads.

The most heroic thing I've done in game has been standing up for others against bullies. There are plenty of scenarios that can make this difficult (tank threatening to leave, banker holding all mats, etc.) but usually you can count on someone having your back if you stand up for something fair.

I've single tanked bosses after near squad wipes. I've helped randoms. I've saved desperate squads. That's kind of why I play the game and one specific time doesn't doesn't stick out.

But, one of the coolest heroic moments where I was saved was I was soloing a BH89 brim and a cleric friend asked if I wanted help. Sure! I had bloodpaint so I was doing pulls, stunning and killing on my own but a cleric is always helpful. Anyways, I watched her teleport in and continued to pull, but over did it and had way too many mobs that were all spread out.

She shows up and tosses me a Wellspring (grabs a bit of aggro herself) HPs away from the mobs that are attacking her and right next to me, hits AD for both of us (when AD was a squad buff), IHs me while its still active, runs past me to pull mobs in range and bubbles on the far side. She still had aggro of a few magic mobs and was tanking them like a boss but pulled them into my range for stun and AoE.

The HP/AD/IH stack/rounding mobs up and tanking/blue bubble combo was just so beastly and pro it made me go "hero!"

There was a joke in my group that all clerics were girls and all cleric's were passive aggressive Canadians. This one was all those sterotypes, but good. That made it extra funny.

This is one of the main reasons I wish AH was still a squad buff. I' used to save people with but now I can't. :P

I don't think saving yourself really counts Skai. xD I'm sure you have plenty of instances where you helped others though. You've posted that kind of stuff in the past and you seem nice.

I agree that those random acts of kindness are really what makes things nice. Although, I've never really thought of them as particularly heroic. I mean, I think we've all done them. And have been on the receiving end. To me, it seems unreasonable NOT to give a lowbie their drops for example. What am I gonna do with it?

Although you're awesome for standing to bullies. :)

I'm not a hero, but I do a few small acts of kindness every now and then (picking off wraiths who jump others already engaged with their own targets, giving Sage SoV/Empower Vigor to Melee classes in Morai, ect.) Usually, if someone does bite off more than they can chew, I'll leave them to take care of it...at least to see if they can pull themselves out of trouble or so that they learn from their mistake.

Still, I suppose the most "heroic" moment I had was in a Warsong Metal squad where a Barb pulled a few groups (which had some Sacrificial Assault Dinos among them) and was struggling to stay alive after aggroing everything. As his HP dropped to its last few thousands I managed to cast Spirit Phalanx on him while we got rid of them.

He was pretty vocal about that and asked a few questions about the skill before we went off to deal with Snakefist.

Cleric'd for a BH69 squad who needed some serious help both physically & mentally....b:surrender

Rather then pull bosses from their adds, the morons charged right into (Nob & Poles groups) and their escorts both at the same time, in the turn around area in the back chamber ....b:sweat

Most heroic thingabout that ~_~' was ending up running in and BB'ing that Cluster F*** and somehow keeping everyone alive without even a single loss of a party member (And no it was just a normal squad, no hardcore highs on it__b:sad) Thank god I was wearing a mixed set of (LA/AA) armor on my cleric aswell as having a crapload of crabmeat back then, otherwise it woulda a been one heck of a Major Wipe... And all because a few idiots wanted too act insanely stupid on that run.....b:surrenderb:cry

    It's not really 'Heroic' by any means, but;

In an FC, don't know which level but knew I was still very squishy. On Oceania, while I was dealing with harpies they rushed the boss before I could help. Naturally, someone hit the mini-boss or didn't hit the hands, either way everyone died but me. As the boss was about to reset, I holy pathed to him and tanked him while everyone was ressed by mystic buffs.

I dont think too many HL members can be bothered helping out newbies so I'm always doing that when I can. Nowadays I'm coming across 95+ chars pretty often who say to me, "Oh I remember you, you helped out in my (insert relevant) culti bosses."

Came across a char the other day who seemed real new and seriously was asking for 100coins to be able to buy a pickaxe. I gave them certain advice about begging for money and grinding, then gave him 20k which he was thanking me profusely for.

Not really counts as heroism but was told it was a clever thing to do:
I rezzed a fallen comrade who had a boss on top of him. I shot the boss so that he would chase me and move from the dead comrade who could safely rez and run out of range before the boss noticed anything.

Also, as a cleric I go and heal, buff and rez random people at times. Prefer those who really needs it. =)
