+1 or whatever you must with this thread so that we can also enjoy the ability to edit a characters body like the CN servers have allowed for the longest time >:!!!!
To also make note:
I have multiple experience with people who's body were so thin, I almost thought it was a line of pixel code on the game when I saw it, but their "Hit box" issue is bull****. You can easily hover over them, or just look for a damn pair of floating weapons if you must.

Dude, why don't you limit yourself to enjoy what we just got now?
Many did petition for an acceptance over .ini modifications and this for many years (me included, even if I was not the most vocal about it).
We finally got it, in a partial way. Much thanks to the higher ups.
You know, V., a.k.a. 'Hey, You!' could have left that wish aside if he wanted. Same for GMs... So I guess that asking for too much too early is no good.
Maybe will we have that one day, maybe we never will.
But probably you will not listen to me because you are too much in a rush... for what? I ask you. b:surrender
By the way, with that kind of speech, it's truly unlikely your request would be taken into account...Angel_Spawn - Sanctuary wrote: »Don`t push it, be grateful they at least allowed to edit heads! b:bye

Uhm... No thanks... Last thing we need in game is stick-figured characters... Have you seen how ugly those are? b:shocked Just be happy that we can finally .Ini edit hair and eyes... To answer the question of why I made this:
It's more to do with the fact that China has allowed the editing of all characters in any detail, any way, any customization, hell you could make a pencil if you knew how to get the coding to line up the right way on their servers. I don't see a reason to not allow such a thing to have happen here.
Sure the GM's here will try to argue over "Hit Box" or "Character Size" issues, but the thing about it, is that if the GM's on our side will actually spend time in game (like many of the other server GM's bother to do for at least a short while during their time at work), they can find anything that looks stupid, redicioulous or out-right wrong (i.e. characters so thin you don't even notice the fact their there until you see them talk, or characters so huge that it blocks out half the screen).
People here are probably gonna argue against me for this, saying I am being greedy, unsatisfied, or otherwise. I can easily say I am none of the above or anything else that may be listed. I am simply requesting that he, being our current CM, send a notice (and more than a simple passing of "Oh hey such and such wanted to ask for such and such") to the dev's overseas in china about the desire members of the International community have to make their characters more free. To allow their characters to become a actual person in the players eyes, instead of some animated character on the screen doing flips, tricks, and other deemining items at the press of their finger on a button.
Though hey, maybe I am just being a greedy person by wanting the allowance that the China players have. Maybe I am just being stupid thinking that such a occurance would happen, who knows.Going for on sin: pwcalc.com/d916f4e82a02e4dd

Perfect example of if someone gives us an inch, we demand a mile. Can't ever be happy to be given anything. Must demand more.
Seriously. Be happy we got this. And this is the only part that mattered, IMO. Full, legal access to all hairs, eyes, colors and so forth amongst all classes - which was kind of the entire point you seem to be missing here.
Besides that...what the company says about detection or w/e about adjusting bodies, isn't even the first problem I think of with body editing. I don't want to see hordes of anorexic females with humongous, out of proportion **** and giant bobble heads walking around. It would be a permanent full time job just tracking these people and warning/banning them, let alone the other massively disfigured characters that would appear in game.
And your argument about whats on PWCN is moot. I don't live in over there. I don't play the PWCN game. This is NOT the PWCN game.
If you're going to argue what PWCN has/doesn't have VS us, this is the last thing to be bringing up. I don't think the fight for anorexic characters is top of the list.0 -

Read the post that is right above yours. That has my true thoughts on the matter, I purposely opened this thread to see what level of excitement players were at with just allowance of the facial ini editing (and god that term sounds way to sexual for its own good when used in a sentence).
I truthfully had hoped people would want the ability to edit beyond just the face, but I guess while I had hopes people would like this option. It seems almost everybody is too elated and flabergasted that we are allowed to edit just the face, they are not concerned with how the rest of their body looks.
If you want to argue about body sizes, take a look at the scale lines when you make a character. As it stands, while, yes, you can not make a character the size of a line of pixels you can still create **** that would rival the world record holder in real life (triple Z if you are curious as to it). So please, don't try that arguement against me.
To shoot down your next thing, anorexic characters. As you stated, this is PWI, not PW-CN, so what in the world leads you to believe that our player base will create the anorexic characters that you seem to be so horrified over? Is our playerbase not entirely, or well majoritly, different from the PW-CN playerbase? If you answer with a response of a maybe or a yes to either of these, then your own point of the anorexic toons has become moot.
Please, I am up all night guys, keep firing your arguements at me. I am willing to take on any points you might have against body modification on our game verison.Going for on sin: pwcalc.com/d916f4e82a02e4dd

Because anorexic characters give an unfair advantage. Your hit zone is reduced and you become damn near invisible, so yes I do believe that would happen here to a large extent.
Argument is far from moot. This is enough of a concern they are still not letting this happen.
You far from shot this down, because while I think we are different from the PWCN playerbase, we here would go to so many other extremes.
The anorexic with big **** argument is only the one that would be most common. Then we also open up to monstrous butts, pop-eye arms, man of steel chest on pencil-thin lower body and so on. Yes, I do believe many of these 'bored people' in game now would do things like this and these kinds of characters would be more common than you think.
Sorry, they open that up to be that flexible and the game becomes visually disgusting. That would hold very little appeal to me, and I'm sure many others, having a world filled with bizzarely disproportionate characters. You think the game in unappealing to new players now? Fill it with these polygon freaks and see how much allure it has.
If you truly believe you are incredibly hindered from not being able to do this, try some of the other f2p mmos that don't let you customize even a fraction of what this game will.
Truth is....you need this for absolutely nothing. You saw some other people fight to have something (that actually had a point behind it) and now its your turn suck whatever you can out of them?0 -
The hitbox argument is stupid and wrong. It's actually the opposite: fat characters that hide the hitbox would be hard to select without tab or t menu for the same reason clicking someone on a Boa or the like is annoying. Hitbox size stays the same regardless of character size.
That said, we don't need this here and I'm quite happy with what we have. We've always had to put up with the good AND bad from China and body edits are one thing that would fall into bad quickly. We've already more than capable of great (and not so great) bodies with what's available in the defaults and have no need to complain about it.0 -
For the same reasons as above, I also do not wish to have ini body modifications legal. Anorexic toons, super fat toons, stick figures and other weird and ugly things...I don't want to see that.
It may not affect gameplay per se, but I don't want to be surrounded by ugly toons

I'm perfectly happy with the allowance of facial editing. Like a lot of people in this thread, I don't want to run around with wireframe bodied, headless weirdos either. The hitbox thing is a lie, especially now that you can tab-select players as well as mobs. I just don't want sumo-barbs and walking pencil bewbs, which I know people would make.
So nty to body editing.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]

truekossy basically wrote my post for me on the hitbox arguement, kinda beat me too that
Anybody, to continue off of the few arguements you placed up, and bare with me as my brain is starting to fall off it's normal tracks due to lack of sleep. Currently in the game we continously, are looking at characters of all over basic body shape and size. This being due to the fact we are limited to just six, I can be off on this as I haven't counted these sliders in a very long time, so please, feel free to correct me on this, sliders over all. These sliders only affecting the Head, Waist/Hips, Breast (if female), Torso, Legs, Arms. Also again, please feel free to add-on or subtract off if I forget anything or incorrectly state something here. Trying to work with a below-par brain function for me is a bit harsh.
Now my thing is, I already stated in a previous post, if the GM's on our side would actually bother to jump in game, for hell 30 minutes if they are super busy, longer if they can, and just patrol around characters and see what is going on with their appearances and such (of course, anything in a catshop might cause an issue, but how would players know when a GM is actually looking at their character? Pretty much never, for all in truth a GM could simply take the information of a character location and teleport it to their location and then back, without much issue) to keep track of what is happening. If they see that people are abusing the ini files to create obsurce and horendous abmoniations of mankind (such things as you listed, extremely small character with just a giant *** floating about, or creating things like a floating chest) and basically ban these players for a 24-36 hour period (this means the player will at least log into the character once and see that it is banned, leading to either a ticket or a post on the forums, sometimes both) during which time the player just simply has to ask what caused it and, this part being a big if from the player, if the player sends in the ticket a GM can simply state that the ini file edit of the character was beyond extreme limits that they must either fix the character to stand within normal limitations or the character will have to be reset to base line standards. Though this part requires a actual GM, or GMs', to care enough to log in each day and do the job of moderating.
Now if you are going off and gonna state that you would leave because of issues of body modification causing you to lose the graphical appeal of the game. Let me ask you, this game is from 2008, and the current time is 2012. I know of three F2P games off the top of my head, from just last year alone, that completely and utterly smash this games customization system to pieces and then crush the remains into dust before spreading it to the wind. So if you wish to state that there are no games with better customization, you are wrong on that part. So please attain a head-set of 2012, and not 2008.
Now your next area, of stating people will leave, from a personal view, I see full modifcation as a PROMOTIONAL feature. Basicially PWE can show an advertisement online, over airwaves on t.v., or otherwise and can state in the banner "entirely customizatable characters". This would bring in more than enough players that we "might", and I am seriously stretching myself on using that word, lose to this type of allowance. Sure I can understand people on our playerbase might take things to the extreme, but that is why I place a slight, and I do mean ever so slight, bit of hope into the GM team on being able to log in and patrol the appearances of characters to some extent.
Finally, to your statement of me sucking things from other people. I literally had not thought, nor cared about ini editing. As majority of times when I make characters I can get away with just one of the pre-sets and say "Meh, whatever I can change it later" and start playing. Mainly because I gave up hope on ever seeing this idea come to light and be allowed at all. The fact that with the new CM we have already had the ini editing allowed for at least the face, I do not see any actual case (From either a developer, promotional, or GM side (maybe you can show me a side)) that this shouldn't become full freedom of ini file editing. (I do use full freedom losely as GM's would still have their rights stated in the ToS to ban people for whatever reason, of course if the GMs start coming in games people might actually start coming back because of the GM being able to police the game and help avoid, prevent, or even stop before happening, rule breaking that occurs almost by the minute in this game)

Anyhow, on the subject of modification, why not just let us mod everything?
It's not like you can **** into the game, the connection between client and server is so good there's no way to cheat the system except for going past doors(which most fbs have been edited for anyways) and one method of duping that has nothing to do with the client anyways.

Please no. The only "body" edits that I think should be allowed are the color of venos' tails and barbs' fur, since those are both defining characteristics just like any hair or eye color. Body proportions...no. Those stick figures from the CN version are just plain gross to look at.0
