Old interface?

Just curious, I still prefer the old interface, is that allowed? Or is it against a random rule :s? Also do you prefer old or new?

    Old interface is allowed. I prefer the old. New one is more clunky and has spots of unclickable space due to its poor design. http://pwi-forum.perfectworld.com/showthread.php?t=1014171

    I liked using the old interface too, but eventually gave up on it. Was a pain since the fonts weren't 100% compatible, and when mailing items you couldn't address people with names that were 10 or 11 characters long.

    when i change the theme = 1 to 0 and try to save, a window pops up saying access denied...how do i do this? D:

    PWE Folder > element folder > userdata > systemsettings > [UI] Theme = 1

    Change [UI] Theme = 1 to [UI] Theme = 0

    Click File > Save

    Close the notepad



    Make sure you are NOT running PWI when you do this.

    I use old interface (at low resolution screen) when I play this game. Some words are as "dots" at screen, some are out from their cells, but it is best interface for me. Using horizontal skill bar I can hide chat box when it is not necessary for me (90% of play time), because I don't want to see system promotions of packs, like, for example: "someone won Token of Best Luck", etc.

    I remember when my UI only gave me 6 buttons on a skillbar. THAT is the "old interface" I think of when I saw this thread.

    Not that hard to change the type of font pw uses.
    The only thing is that you have to use a font that supports chinese characters.

    In that screenshot I posted I also changed the font.
    Look at the text over the catshops and the text in the chatbox; you'll see they're different.
    I changed the font though because of style, not because of the space. It's easy changing the space to fit any font on there....

    Yeah, it's still in the files, and if I was dedicated enough I could swap it with the tb interface.
    I never liked that one tbh honest though.
    The oldest interface though, the one that p2p pw started off with, is in our files too but I see no value in using it because it's so ugly. I like their newer ui better.

    Actually I don't think it's in the files anymore, because it only has 6 buttons on one skillbar. Your screenshot reflects after it changed to 10.

    Nope.

    PWCN has both ui fully updated and ready for them, see the window in the lower right?

    That's the in game switch for the ui. Currently only pwcn has that on by default (technically pw my-en did too but they have shut down). Using the ini method is the same as pressing that button.

    The only reason why the old ui button isn't there by default in our version is because whoever was working on the old ui managed to put in all the localized text but didn't have time to fit them properly.

    Just because it's there in the old files doesn't mean you can access them right away.

    It's possible, but you'll be spending a month at least learning how to tweak the ui, how to replace the tb ui with the older ui (you coudl replace genesis ui with older ui but that's a lot more work) and then refitting the old ui so that it'll actually work with all the new features.

    You'll also have to find all the old files hidden in the files... Good luck trying to find files in chinese. b:surrender

    For some reason I can't stand the old interface now, trying to go back to it. I hated the change to the new one at first, but now I'm too used to it.
