But to not make friends on this game, there is only two reasons:

1.) You refuse to befriend anybody

I learned after coming back a month or so ago that the game is quite boring sans friends and/or faction. So if for some reason you don't have either thing, and can't because you're a...well, not so nice person, best to stay away.

Well, you can still join/make random squads for dailies and operate within a faction without (necessarily) making friends, so its not as though one can not get by without doing so...

untill archosaur ull have the whole perfect world for urself because there isnt a single person and u get to see like 2 world chat messages per hour

and for the actual question, it really depends on what U consider "friends", because everybody has their own picture of the word and tosses it around like a bad cold

since anybody can become friends as long as u get along with them, i think that momagnon something server will answer that question

UPDATE: My question is not directed to me, but to a consideration that you might need friends to enjoy the game.

First off, with friends I mean, people you talk daily with, that you're getting to know about real life etc etc..

Personally, I wouldn't last a day without my friends!

It would be possible to play without making friends, and when needed just join random pick up squads, but I personally wouldn't want to play without. It would be quite boring.

Over time you get to meet some great people in game if you choose your friendships wisely. Friendships in a MMO is one of the dynamics that I appreciate, being that I am a bit of a culture addict, and there are people from all over the globe playing. The only drawback to many friends is keeping up with several whisper conversations at one time. Also, for me anyway, playing the game can occasionally be the only outlet to any form of socialization I have access to, due to my grueling work schedule.

Yes it's very possible to play without friends, though it does take more time and more coin to do so as you will have to use WC to find squads if you need help killing a boss (say for culti) or to find a BH squad. With the exception of bosses and instances questing is very easy to do without help. And if you have good enough gear you can even solo some bosses with lower HP, especially if you create toons on separate accounts to give you buffs (I have a 46 seeker that solos her own BH 29). I still think it's a very fun game to play solo, there is more than enough to keep you busy. Just be careful of what server you chose as some are more helpful than other. But if you generally prefer to play alone, you really will not have a problem with it.

When you go days, or sometimes weeks without talking to anyone, or anyone making that initiative to be friends with you, playing the game like this gets depressing. if I were to add it up...I'd say its been 1yr and some months now. I solo TT, FCC, PV on my seeker and its maddeningly boring. I ask myself everyday when will it end.

My best advice to you is if you find that real good friend..you hold on to them and never let go. Never stray apart.

It's possible, not very much fun though. I just started out on raging tide. Aside from the two people that answered my world chats for FB 19 and 29, I havent really found anyone questing, or many people that want to make friends with someone below level 100 for that matter.

If you throw money at the game it's both possible and ridiculously easy.

But it's really not worth it either way if you have no friends here.

You could never really experience, the full spectrum of this game, if you didn't have atleast some friends ~_~' ? (Unless the person trying it that way, was some sorta Deranged Sociopathic {MMO} Baby K*ll*R!? who only likes to play on {PvP servers} and has earned Multiple {KOS~contracts} for hanging around the (newbage zones) to do nothing but lots of spree killing of {low lvs} (or something like that); then I guess you could probably have all the fun you could possibly want alone (that is, so long as one could stay ahead of the hunting packs, who're out for your hide)b:chuckle

I played from 1-35 with friends. Then they all quit, and I then played from 35 to 75 or so all on my own. I did those outdated quest things, grinding mobs, and pretty much whatever. Then, I quit for almost a year, only to come back to fish and Genies.

Then I did it again, going from 75-80 all on my own, before I joined an awesome faction, rolled more characters, and leveled up those characters with friends.

And yeah, my Veno soloed most of her BH59's. That was when molds were WORTH something, so the mold drops from soloing the bosses payed for any wine I used.

It depends on your situation. I got my moron friends usually sitting in the other room, or this room doing moron things (but I love them anyway) when I play--so I never really made an effort to make friends in the game. Some of that is due to the fact that I play a female cleric and most of the friend invites I get are from dudes. Because of the fact that I tried for about an hour looking for help with 20/20/20 (Woulda been nice to have some friends) I rolled a barb on another account, and do everything on my barb+cleric, level them up the same, duo there bh's/fb's etc. Also, because I was waiting for my barb to get to level 67 before I did my 20/20/20, I kept doing cube on my cleric and giving xp to my genie. She's level 78 now, maxed skills for her level, and my barb is the same level with almost all the tiger skills maxed for his level (and buffs)b:cute

I don't mind having hardly any friends on this, I just duo everything with my two chars, which is fun for me. It's easier to quit the game when you don't have friends, and it's not like I don't have my idiot friends in the other room poking fun at me because I play this game b:laugh

Why would you play an MMO if you just want to play by yourself? :P

I guess you can play this game without making friends, but then it would be kind of boring. One of the only reasons why I still play this game is because of my friends (real life and online).

WRONG-

Today I will hit lvl60 and yesterday I made my 1st friend. I have soloed my whole career and havent really been around others that much. I am rarely bored as every day I am learning somthing new and there is always crafting,genie,quests,ect ect.I wouldnt mind some good friends but it just didnt roll that way-oh well

You mean being completely alone not talking to anyone? It would be difficult for you to overcome some rather difficult challenges of the game.

I'm a loner that enjoy questing by herself, I'm a veno and that gives me a lot of freedom but, I'm in a faction and I'm friendly with random people that needs/offers help. I've meet really nice people, I just try to avoid accepting friends requests.

You can play with random characters too.

They are not friends for you, they live in different countries, they are hidden behind fine pictures of animals and mystery characters (male behind female and vise versa), you meet them once per month only, but you can play as anyone else.

Yeah you can play completely solo with no interaction with anyone if you really wanted; certain things might be hard to do initially, but even joining squads you don't have to 'talk' to anyone.

Not only am I a quiet person, but I have a difficult time actually getting to know anyone on here, because most of my attention goes to listening for my daughter to wake up from her nap. Typing and keeping people alive gets to be a little difficult for me (I'm not a great multi-tasker lol.) I have made it this far however, and I still enjoy the game. So I guess it really depends on the person. I've met lots of wonderful people on here, and lots of not so wonderful people, but my husband is the one who actually helps me out with finding players to help on bosses and Fbs. He seems to just walk by someone and automatically makes a friend lol. So without him and his friends I would be relying on the pick up squads which everyone knows don't always work out wonderfully. I can see by the way he plays that having friends means you get to know how someone plays and you can start to trust them. To sum it up, yes it is possible to play without them and enjoy yourself, but it can be pretty stressful at times. b:sad

Well, it's far from impossible to play the game alone. I like to quest, bully mobs, harvest and explore the map by myself. Let's say I am the more cautious type when it comes to encountering random people.

That said, if you are more of the social type, it will be more difficult for you. It's always better to have people to spend some time with, even if it's to just idle and have a casual chat.

And again, when it comes to instances like FB and bosses, you'll more likely than not to need external help (of course, I am in that case). As for trading, I guess that merchanting via catshop does not do all. Trading with a friend can be much better (and safer too...?).

Yep, just go find trustful, honest, kind people out there, it can be truly beneficial for you and them alike.

Enemies' displays of affection are a bit too forced and uncontrolled, in my opinion. b:laugh
