And don't you dare tell me to check my setting or hardware. .I never had these issues before.. but only recently.
And I'm reading on the forums others are having simular issues.
Either inform the Dev's or programers to look into it or good bye PWi.

Do you DC, or does your client crash? There is a difference.
The client crashing on the RT teleport is a common problem. The known fix for it is to reduce your distance and/or textures.
If it's DC'ing, then it's either something on your end, or part of the internet connection between your PC and the PWE ISP. (Something I've stated and proven numerous times.) As I responded to the post just previous to yours...SylenThunder - Sanctuary wrote: »Just an FYI, DC'ing has pretty much nothing to do with the client. It's not the server either. It has to do with the internet between the hardware connection on your PC and the ISP for PWE.
Post a traceroute when you are having an issue with DC'ing and I can tell you where the issue is and what you can or cannot do about it.
In either case, that doesn't have anything to do with this thread.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]0 -

SylenThunder please reply to your tickets.
The more info you guys can give, screenshots of the general area, in-game coordinates, helps.
The time spent complaining on the forums could have been spent replaying to your tickets so that we can figure things out and have info to send to the devs and QA to work with b:sad

Can't send a ticket if the ticket site/location is also defective.. As I stated.. I am unable to select my server and hence my toon I'm having issues with .. whitch are all the toons.. Guess since you don't read what I write here .. a ticket would have received something similar..
Not going to waste my time with this.. you guys/gals on the other hand get paid to fiddle daddle around.. The lack of organization at PWi is terrible and the product is crashing fast in it's entertainment value.. gl.0 -
For the past two months, I've been dc'ing everytime I've logged in. Its been very fustrating now since I've been playing this game for over two years (before the TB were ever thought about) and I've been wondering, whats up with the patches after 580? You GM's see all these complaints but do nothing about it. We do what you guys say with the dxdiag and stuff but its like a big: GO **** YOURSELF to us. Why can't you guys get this together?0
-
ok let me state this AGAIN...
1. DC'ing and Lag is not a function of the servers, or PWE. It is a result of dropped packets and latencey that occurs in the vast expanse of the internet that lies between your PC and the ISP for PWE. Neither PWE, nor their servers causes this. If you want to send me system information and a traceroute, I will be more than happy to tell you exactly where the problem is and how to fix it.
2. This thread is not about the client DC''ing.
This thread is about the inert ability of the client to close for no reason at all and not generate any kind of an error when it does, thus disallowing us the ability to troubleshoot it.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]0 -

If so, how is your computer connected on your local network?[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]0 -
Yes, I am disconnecting with this ALOT. BUT I have a Cisco-Linksys E3000 Wireless Router; I can run 2 PS3's, 2 Laptops and 2 Desktops on it at the sametime.0
-
Yes, but with that particular router, how they are all connected makes a big difference.
It's got a lot of nice features, but still has the same problem that it's predecessor did. Not enough RAM. It only has a 64MB buffer for both wireless and local traffic and that also has an additional media server and built in NAS capability.
I find that with my 610N, too many wireless connections, or one of them streaming, will totally kill PW's connection. Even if the PC running PW is connected via cable. (Because of this it is now just an additional AP for a couple of remote laptops and no longer the primary hub in my network.)
So how everything is connected on the router will have a large impact on it's performance.
I can run 7 desktops and 5 laptops, the PS3, Wii, three NAS devices, and a couple tablets plus my cell phones. Unfortunately, as soon as I start streaming from my NAS to my PS3, or start a major file transfer across the wireless network, there's about an 80% chance that PW will DC on the wired network and about a 95% chance that it will DC on the wireless.
So now I just have the 610 hooked up as a remote switch to hard-wire the PS3 and it acts as an additional AP as well.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]0 -
Well, I have no idea how its connected since my father installed it. (I hate to tell him that he really doesn't know how to fix stuff)0

Well, it looks like I'm on my own again. Back to Google.0
-
Looks like I may have found my problem. My Virus Protection: AVG. Its taking up too much memory and causes my client to DC.0
-
Same Problem:
i reduced crashed by 80%
the Memory Leak is caused by resolutions over 1600x900 and using quad cores
while running PW:
taskmanager: set affinity for element.exe, use 2 cores
ingame: use resolution 1600x900 or below
for me, this avoids alot crashes
the element.exe is not eating 1.8gb of ram anymore
(well, whole guild in trial is boo00OOM)0 -
While that is an interesting theory, on Vista or newer, I have not experienced any changes by limiting the CPU affinities. Typically the Client only uses one core, no matter what I set the affinity to, and it has had no impact on the memory leak.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]0

I'm pretty sure I didn't run into crashes back in 2010 before pwprotector and tellus city arrived. Maybe it's best to just disable pwprotector? It's not like it prevents hacking.
Also, I will crash sometimes when meditating for over an hour as a tideborn character (Normal meditation, where you turn into a mermaid.) The crash even happens with Best Performance on.
The game will also have a slow loading time or even crash if you teleport long distances on the map, it used to be this'd never happen with just going from 1k to raging tides, but now it can. Even more so if you teleport anywhere far away to tellus.
Too bad Skyrim doesn't crash if I do that sort of thing:

All pwprotector does is recognize when the client crashes to bring up a bug report window for sending in a ticket. It was part of the client long before they added it back recently, and it's purpose is to track crashes like this so that they can collect data and try to fix it.
If your client is crashing as much as you say, there is something on your system that is interfering with the operation of the client. I could be video card settings, security software, or even something as simple as a video codec or browser toolbar.
The only reason it would take longer teleporting to locations would be because of the amount of data being loaded from the location you are teleporting to. Especially if you are in an area that has already loaded a lot of data, the client is using a fair amount of RAM already, and you don't have much room to spare for the 2GB program memory space.
It crashes on Tellus and RT no matter where you are porting from if your system is not able to load the textures fast enough. Lowering your distance setting and ensuring that Proxy Visuals is turned on will resolve that issue quickly.
Comparing PWI to Skyrim is like comparing apples to a spanner wrench. They have completely different architecture, and are years of development apart. PWI was originally written to 2004 standards and has only recently been updated to 2006 standards on a heavily outdated game engine that doesn't even support a multi-core processor. Skyrim on the other hand, is written to 2015 standards, as Bethesda did before with Oblivion. (When it was released, even the top-end systems of the time had trouble playing it with full graphics on because of the immense detail in the textures and rendering engine.)"No matter how subtle the wizard, a knife between the shoulder blades will seriously cramp his style." - Steven Brust, Yendi

And laugh at my current GPU... http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814133318
I won't stop you. Hell, the only reason I bought this GPU was to upgrade two generations forward from my previous GPU. I bought it a year and a half ago (or more.) I plan to upgrade it to an AMD 7970 GHz Edition in the future (Likely next year.) I had to take off the plastic encasing portion off the graphics card itself, or else it'd end up constantly overheating even on the original Portal as well as Grand Fantasia and Kitsu Saga. There once a time when I cared about getting to the top quickly as possible to help others. Yeah, those card designs have a real issue with overheating because of the crappy cooling layout. I used an additional PCI coller with my cards like that. All my new cards will be of the MSI series with the Cyclone cooler.
The DXDiag only really tells the driver version and any 3rd party codecs that might be trouble. I don't see anything wrong there offhand, but it still leaves a lot of information out that could be causing the issue.
Use Speccy to publish a report and give us the link. That will give a lot more detail on what's really going on with your system. (Take the system image around time your client crashes.)
Additionally, any change to the default 3D settings on your video card, (AA, bitmapping, ect.), will cause the client to bork. Make certain that they are all set to default. If you have questions about whether they are and aren't sure, download the driver from Nvidia and choose the "Clean Install" option under advanced settings.
One final note: Use OC software to force the fan on your GPU to run at 100% or customize the fan speed profile to run the fan faster. Personally, I prefer MSI's Afterburner software for Nvidia cards, but there are others out there. Afterburner should work with your card, but if not, then use this."No matter how subtle the wizard, a knife between the shoulder blades will seriously cramp his style." - Steven Brust, Yendi

That's still entirely up to your system.
With a Core 2 Quad 2.4GHz, 4GB Ram and an 8800GT, I can run 8 clients with decent graphics before I start having issues. (If only I had that many screens to run them on....)0
