Shard is a new level 3 faction on the Archosaur server that is looking to build up a friendly, helpful, faction with lots of fun members. Our main goal is to have fun and enjoy the game.
Being helpful is the highest priority for members of Shard.
We accept all levels and all classes, new players included.

We currently do not have events such as TT and FC, etc, scheduled on the calendar, but we do plan on having such events in the future. The reason for not having them there now is for the simple fact that the faction is not big enough yet to plan for the best times.
We have a forums section used purely for guests to obtain information. We suggest you take a look and ask any questions, if needed.

Hi,

I have joined this game (my first ever mmorpg) in early September (join date is incorrect after I changed my avatar). I've been doing OK so far solo playing but am now considering joining a faction to be able to complete the harder bosses every now and then. Also, to get some help figuring stuff out.

Things to note: I'm fairly new to the game and though I've spent about half the time trolling the forums for information there's still a lot I don't get.
Also, I live in Europe so my playing hours are different. I do play late at night (for me) because I have lots of time on my hands, but when it's 2 am here it's still only 5 pm (?) in Archosaur time. I don't know if you have other members from Europe.
I'd like to try and participate in TW eventually if possible. I understand it's on Fridays so although I couldn't do it every week I imagine once a month would be fun.

Couple of questions:
- Can you elaborate a little on the activities the faction has. I like helping people out, that's how I found you. When I just started I got a couple of drops from a high level player for free so I could sell them. That helped me out a lot, so now I sometimes find something cool and then give it away in Lost City to a low level player. Got me a couple of friends too

- I'm totally clueless where factions are concerned, is that a problem (should I first research it myself or do you have a guide/information on the site you mentioned)? I also noticed there is a forum on your site as well. What can I expect there?

- What further information would you want from me about my main char?

I have a level 3 mystic I created to find out if I liked the game and to look around. That's how I decided to make my main a veno. I also created a level 1 assassin just to play around with the looks of the character but I have hardly played with them. When I know more about the game I plan to start leveling them because they are so different.

In short, I'd like to try and since I'm a complete n00b in many ways still and you except low level players this faction seems like a good place to get more experience in the game and maybe some help in understanding stuff and completing some quests I can't do on my own yet. I do think I know enough now to try this and will naturally contribute any way I can.

Oh, and my in game name is 'phillio' (no capital P like on here).

Hi, Phillio. Sorry for the late reply. I've been busy in-game with new recruits. >.<
I will try to answer all of your questions the best I can and give as much information as possible.

- First, helping with bosses and answering general questions is what we do the most. b:victory

- Being new to the game is great for Shard. I, myself, have played for almost 2 years now, but most members now are new players and are all very fun to chat with.

- Your time zone shouldn't be any problem at all, since we have many players in different areas. Adding to that, I am on the east coast of Canada and I tend to play long into the night.

- Territory War is something I would like Shard to participate in, but obviously, we have to wait until our members are ready. However, I do not want to become a TW faction where TW is all that matters, and I think that may fit you well.

- As for faction events, we do the normal squad stuff, BH, etc. On top of that, I like to create small faction events that have have almost nothing to do with pwi itself, just to have some fun with the faction. Yes, these events usually have rewards, though I am not rich enough to promise anything too big. >.<
We do tend to get together, in-game, and just hang out and chat. We always have a great time.

- We try as hard as we can to make the game fun while still progressing and becoming stronger.

- Your knowledge of factions shouldn't hinder anything. Factions are pretty basic and anything you may need to know, all of our members are friendly and willing to help and answer questions.

- Our faction site forum; I spend a lot of time there. It is cut off from non-members because a lot of the information I'd rather keep to the faction. But basically, our forums has EVERYTHING in it. Events, updates, class guides, helpful links, etc. Though there is still a lot of information missing that I intend to complete. As well, all of our information is kept in the forum, but that information is also spread out upon the website in specific areas to make it more user-friendly.

As for your character information, we just want to know that you'd be an active member of Shard. Anything else can be brought in to faction chat when we are getting to know you.

P.S. I have been told by many faction members that Shard is the most entertaining faction they've been in. This is most likely due to our crazy faction conversations.

This is indeed the most fun I've had playing any game. Mostly due to Shard I believe.
I was in one faction before this, and they helped me but were not online half as much and no fun in chat at all

If you're not only about leveling, but enjoy company in-game join Shard and help us build up the faction so we can be awesome together!

We've seen some ppl joining the faction and then leaving again soon after because they thought they didn't get help quick enough. Please have a little patience when asking for help. We're a starting faction and will help as much as we can but sometimes you will have to wait a little bit. There are plenty of quests to do usually in the mean time and we will get to you. Hopefully you'll feel the same and will help others as we do you. Within or outside the faction.

Some ppl leave because they don't want to apply for the website we have (not sure if Extrii wants me to post the url here so I won't). Don't be intimidated by that, It's just a formality after you've joined shard so you can see and post in the forums and be part of our little community. If you are on the site you will also receive our RaidCall information so you can join us there as well.

We are also thinking about setting up a system in which we trade items for less than in the average catshop for Shard members, and will try to provide manufacturing services where we can but that is still in the making (If I'm speaking out of turn Extrii, let me know, I'll edit the post.) We're currently saving up for a faction base as well which will in time yield additional interesting benefits.

Reminder: Shard does not do power leveling, so don't ask. We're all about playing the game and having fun. If fun means power leveling for you then Shard is not your faction.

I couldn't have said it any better, myself.
The Director and I are both above level 100, and the faction is filled with mostly lower levels. We run this faction because we like to help other players with anything they need. We enjoy helping.
That is the purpose of Shard, along with having lot's of friends that you can call a family.

Sometimes Myself and the Director may be busy helping other people, so you will have to be a little patient when asking for help. But, I will get to you, and I will help you.
Many of our officer's are also willing and capable of helping as well.

I would like to stress the fact that we do not do power leveling. We want to enjoy the game.
We actually had somebody get mad and leave the faction the other day because we refused to power level him, when our faction is meant for fun. So please, if you don't enjoy the game while playing the way it was meant to be and want power leveling, we would appreciate if don't even apply. It would be a waste of time for everybody.
