What if they were to implement a P2P server without a CS. Meaning no packs, orbs or anything related to the whole "money is power" aspect, but make it able to craft/buy (with ingame coin) mounts/flyers/fashion.

Discuss.
It's a game and I'm proud to be a stupid fail demon barb!
My EPIC Fail Demon Barb has 40k/48k HP and my stat points are as follows:
VIT 552 STR 310 DEX 60! b:surrender

Why would they, for such an old game and when cash shoppers make them way more money than P2P?

I've often wondered this very thing, and I used to think it would
be very popular. But now I'm not so sure. I think there was a time
probably about 1-2 years ago where it might have succeeded. Players
were in more of a turmoil about the op tide class; then the goon
glitch & r9. Many players might have welcomed the p2p option, if it
meant all were on a level playing field. I know I would have tried
    it for sure.

But since then, I think players have gotten too accustomed to the
ease of cs'ing, and don't want to give it up. Plus, most players have
made several alts & have done the same beginning quests time after
time. They're tired of them understandably. In order for such a
thing to succeed, PW would have to come up with so many new things,
they might as well just make a whole new game.

But what I just said would apply to the people who are already
playing the game, or have in the past. As far as those who have
never played PWI?--it would be very interesting to see what would
be the result of such an experiment. With some luck, and a great
marketing team, a new p2p PWI might just draw in a lot of disillusioned
gamers out there. I would probably try it, as it would be so nice
to see the "world" areas populated again.

I see that the "no" votes outnumber the "yes" votes (albeit both are
    very small, lol).

But why would anyone vote "no" on this? It's not like anyone would
force players onto the p2p server. Or perhaps they're voting "no, I don't think
    it would be successful"?

But if voting "no, don't make a p2p server", why on earth not? No skin off
your nose if you want to stay where you are and let other people try it
if they want. It's a moot point, of course, as I doubt PW would consider
    such a thing.

But I'm with Ghoul--it would only be fun pre-tide.

It would be an interesting experiment, and it probably would have worked at least at some point. Would have given the players quite a lot of choice...however, I agree with Xainou - though experimenting is fun, it would also potentially cost the company quite a bit of money and I personally don't think a P2P PWI (and PWI specifically, maybe not the various other PWs but I don't know tons about those so I won't pretend I do XD) would be competitive right now unless the company wanted to implement some new features or exclusive content to make it more viable, but then there'd be less incentive for people to stay on the CS servers, which would almost certainly be more lucrative otherwise. There is a possibility that new and old players would flock to the P2P servers and PWI could abandon the F2P model altogether if new content was implemented, but in my opinion that's doubtful, not only because of the nature of the game but also because PWI can't just conjure up new content - the way I understand it, it all comes from China, and something tells me China wouldn't be cool with that. Besides, this whole idea is based around choice, and it seems like if you present both these choices, one of them is bound to render the other one inefficient.
