G16 or R9?

I made decision to utilize my sins gears and simply get G16 bow and replace chest with G16 chest as I didnt find any part of R8 appealing in the build as I`m not going to need stepping stone gear for him `cept the TT90 set Im currently farming for low tier TWs he`s having atm. Right now the archer is 91, sage, all lowbie and cute. I got no intention to do much of anything on him till Ive farmed most of the 2 billion(includes refines to +11) I`m short of finishing all the gear for him to TW in. I should be done with that sometime ~spring or early summer.

I got sin on same account, 5aps and thus gear is really restricted. All of the armors are +7, some vit stoned, I suspect there is 200-300m invested on armors/orns by what I mean shards/refines, discounting gear cost from the number. I got warsong belt & cube neck on barb, elemental defense ones I`ll be using on archer instead of the trashy TT99 ones. I also got 2x lunar ring, +6 I think, if that matters. I`ll +11 the orns archer ends up using and the refining is included in my 2b target.

I got G16 bow mold and I run full warsong quite a bit outside 2x so chest mold wont be a problem. I got lunar bow and I basically only need 250 raptures for G16 bow, no biggie to farm, did that for G16 daggers this 2x. I got all pointing towards the G16 bow but Ive started to debate it. I kinda want my sins armors to be +10, the toon feels still kinda squishy at 10.5k fully buffed and I dont solo higher TTs as the toon is now.

I know the build is behind full R9 and it`s the expenses that restricted me - I can basically finish the build instead of getting clean R9 set. I suspect my build JoSD would be better or least comparable and expenses would be similar to +10 vit stoned set of R9 - but I decided no on JoSD as those are 100m vs 30m of vit stones.

I know the build lacks defense levels seriously and I`ll be using O`malleys likely - I wish I could get R9 ring but that feels so expensive in itself - I`d end up getting full set instead. I might end up starting to save and getting R9 ring & belt as upgrade after I`m done with the initial build in case R93rd cast becomes affordable to me.

Oh yeah, maybe I should be linking the build I`ll be aiming for. The main reason why I dont say **** it and go for R9, least so far, is for 2 reasons. 1 being sin and 2nd being unavoidable R93rd cast getting cheaper with summerwind token sale. I`d hate it if I had to throw away the set completely - I can least put this set on sin and sell the G16 pieces. 3rd minor reason is the LA pieces I could use on barb and giggle, LA barb ftw!

Hey,

From what I read your build looks good and you should have some fun in PvP and PvE!

However!... you will have some trouble in PvP. The R9 bow is a very strong choice with interval, debuff and attack level I would recommend this as the number one option. Correct! it is the most expensive but 6 months to 2 years down the line you will be happy you chose this option as you can upgrade to R9R2 or R9R3. Who knows you might win the lottery.

Depends!... if you are a strong and happy PvE player then G16 will suit you very well and you will have lots of fun and saved money to do so! As you can see below that is my current build and great for PvE as I use my BM for PvP. My build is fun and very effective but I am currently looking into to getting full R9 on my archer for PvP.

The main reason why I dont consider recasts of R9 as a real argument for R9 to me is how I can pop into 3rd cast pretty quickly after I can afford 2nd cast due having an addiction for full warsongs. Though the new recast option might be better, still, I wouldnt get to enjoy the free shard/refine transfer for an period of time that matters - I`d have to throw away all of the set. With using account stashable gear, I can least put the gear, when my archer is done permanently on sin and sell chest & bow - giving me quite a bit coin back, what R9 wouldnt.

I`d take R9 bow over N3 bow, even when I dont feel like my bow has to purge. I find TWs my main entertainment in this game and with so many purge bows everywhere, I dont feel the need to absolutely have one. It comes down to expenses and I can afford the build I have in mind in reasonable amount of time - I`d have to do the math but I suspect R9 build would take me twice as long. I farm, I CS a bit but nowhere near what the "big kids" do. I have accepted my build will be a compromise, what I`m debating is if it`s too much of an compromise.

I`m not actually that afraid of the bow part, though I`d like to hear somebody just how much value they put on chance to purge in TWs - Purged target is pretty much as good as dead but it`s only a chance and in it`s essence, N3 bow actually hits harder than R9 bow. My biggest debate is defenses and defense levels. I can accept not being the beefiest archer out there but with only numbers, no real experience around the gear I`m talking bout, it`s hard to determine if I`m making too big of an compromise there. And that is the reason Im asking for opinions.

I have every intention to actually R9 my archer partially after the build is done, I want the ring and the belt - not the other pieces at first though. I expect a summerwind token sale, it might well be a 6 months from now or even 1 year but to me it`s even more of a reason to get R9 after the set is done as it would only serve as material for 3rd cast. Granted I`ll be tempted to get normal R9 boots & bracers in case my build is done with no word of the sale.

Ps. Im still bit unsure bout my build and Id want to be sure till I start vit stoning rest of the pieces/+10ing when we get a sale.

Like, with the money you'd save on not +11ing/vit sharding everything, you could very easily buy r9.

The +11 is actually cheapish - You use tisha on +10, if you fail you just ocean orb it to +10 and try again. Friend did his gear to +11 with like 7 ocean orbs, which wouldnt be too bad imo. Nut I might only +10 the pieces I`m thinking of replacing to save few coins but dunno.

Well...! I can help you here. I’ve been on PWI Sanc for 4 years I've lead factions to capture lands, I've been lead to capture and of course I have lost too. Archers in TW are the most fun and if you watch any video on youtube of recent TW (Asterelle's ones are quite good) you can see that when you’re running mid lane and its 50vs50 you will rarely get a purge off before you and 5 others on your team destroy some R9 archer of the other side. As you have vendos and other purge archers if you don’t have one you won’t see much of a difference.

My point being. Your life will be easier with R9 and once you purge someone its quite a done deal for death, so how can you remedy this? I keep a HS Lunar Bow (it has purge) in my bag and will trade to it when i want to purge someone (I don’t do this often)

My archer is currently 14k HP unbuffed - 18.7k buffed which is... a lot and it works out well for me but you will find it hard to 1 vs 1 straight up R9 due to def lvl. On top of that your N3 wep will do great dmg and a high refine on it will allow you to kill loads of people.

If you look on my sig check out the gear for my barb and Bm it’s all gear I xfer and its gear that I also xfer over to my sin and archer which believe me its amazingly useful.

To answer your question. No it’s not too much of a compromise and you will have lots of fun and enjoy transferring gear. As long as you practice practice all the time people will recognise for you great skill.

Another big factor people seem to forget is the cost difference to refine 3rd Nv vs 1st R9.
