Disconnecting while afk

I replaced my old laptop (which barely had the processor/memory to run the game) with a higher-performing desktop. Even though the game runs much better most of the time, it disconnects any time that I'm afk for too long.

Current system specs:
  • Athalon quad core 3.2 Gb processor
  • 16 Gb of RAM
  • Geforce G210 video card w/ 1 Gb
  • Clear G4 broadband at ~8 Mbps

Diagnostic observations:
  • With the new desktop, this has occurred all six times that I have gone afk for hours. With the old laptop, it happened less than 10% of the time, and only if the laptop crashed.
  • Based on the lack of catshop sales, I suspect it disconnects in less than one hour.
  • The weather has been nice (poor weather can cause issues with 4G). This is also the same 4G that I used all day and all night with the laptop.
  • I can play for hours without disconnecting as long as I'm online/active.
  • With the old laptop, I could stay connected all night or all day while afk.
  • Even though the game is disconnected, the desktop computer is still running.
  • The desktop computer is set to never go to sleep.
  • I'm not running any other games/programs while afk, other than the background system.


What should I try next to fix this problem?

    I have never had an issue with my pc disconecting .. but ever since u added the new Descent I disconect often..... so i stoped usin my main account while i have the element client up for cat and same thing.. if im on the charcater doin things it wont dc if i leave for even 10-15 mins it disconnects Wtf is the problem hereb:angry Ive put alot of work into my catshop and if they disconecting when im at work .. i Aint makin any my coin back...
    it has nothin to do with my internet connection.. My pc is up to date.. Are you tryin to make it so people cant have catshops anymore....last few weeks have been horrible and even though ive put over 400$ into this game .. and play everyday im not goin anywhere cause of Disconnection pronlems ...Please Fix your Systems .. if this guy who wrote the thread is having same problem as me.. it has nothin to do with our systems.. You PWI need to get your act together..Stop worrying about Taking peoples money and worry about fixing all the problems you have created.........Again i never had this problem til you guys decided u need to add to the game... like seriously i take time out of my day to come on this game.. i dont get paid to be here im here for fun and when my Catshop aint makin coin When ive put alot of money into it .. its useless ... even if i dont use the ele client and have my catshop on only ..no mains Still dc in 10 mins....Im in Etherblade with my cat and there isnt much traffic there so there is no real reason for me to dc so often especially 10 mins after i log..........Fix This.FIX THIS NOW

    b:angry ..I have friends that rely on my catshop when im at work .. to make coin to increase their ability to have fun...If my Cat aint buying OR SELLING How What are they suppose to do ? Sell to other cats for 80 % less than Fair value...... . thats whole reason for cat ..to help friends , other people and to help build my main. ahhhhhh b:angry Very Angry and at same time b:cryb:sad Pleaseb:surrender Fix this this is discourageing ...Not to mention ive only played 6 months and ive already spent over 400$$ You need to fix this problem Fast.. i would say i will quit game but its not worth quitin over somethin that can be fixed .. so just Fix already

    The same thing happens to me. I went to the university and came back bann DC i was like wtf i have a good laptop. 10 MBS of Internet speed
