    It's not an acronym, it's a normal word that became synonymous with latency over time.

    Generally LAG is reffered to "Slow response (computer, internet)"

    What Nowitsawn said is 100% corret. It's not a acronym but more a SLANG used synonm

    What LAG means:

    LAG literally means " Falling behind"

    LAG in PC terms mean that your computer "falls behind" on the amount of information which the server of the game you are playing is producing.

    There are SEVERAL MAIN reason for this. But to name just the most common 1 of them it could be :

    1 - Your upload speed on your internet provider is not sufficient. This means your Internet can't tell the server where you are and what you are doing quickly enough. Once it actually can tell the server you will find that either your are not where you are supposed to be( maybe a couple yards back) or you will find that you have died in a blaze of unknown glory b:shocked

    Lag means "noob" in PWI terms at least 85% of the time. So when someone fails to do anything decently they'll say "Sorry, I'm lagging", when they mean "Sorry, I'm lagging".
